A anime about everyday life is bound to fail, you need to look at this from a business standpoint, the Foxkids dub was cancelled very early on, and it was edited, This dub, even if the order is complete different, its unsensored, and has the orginal music (where the vitello dub didnt) so you cant win, alos western audiences wouldnt get the pop culture references, nor japan social issues, this was there only choice and an awesome one, IMO

@CaraTheChocobo Haha, I live in England also, and I loved watching the kid version of Shin Chan, it was a big part of my childhood. I believe it was on Fox Kids? I do prefere this version though; Shin Chan is quite simply my favourite show ever. Nostalgic and hilarious. It also takes me away to a better place, rather than dirty ol' chav and riot filled Britain.

The dutch dub of Shin Chan is ALOT less vulgar than the FUNimation one, though I don't know if that goes for other countries aswell. But in my opinion, FUNimation's script is just excessive in rough language and doesn't do a good job at adding more fun to the series.

@AngryCrowTakesFlight I got my copies from Amazon, the american site, not the Uk site. The downside with imports though is that you need a DVD player which can play region 1 (american dvds are region 1, region 2 is european) DVDs and can change from PAL to NTSC.

It's a bugger, but well worth the investment :)

@mdalsted You right, in the late 90's to early 2000', this show was aired on Fox Kids and had different voice actors and scripts and made it more child orientated, but displayed weak adult messages throughout the series. It was probably my favourite kids show on tv until Funimation ruined the show and decided to changed everything about the show into something much worse right now.

This version sucks, I mean, the English American release of Shin Chan was edited to death, and not true to the original series.

Even the voices don't fit with the characters.

I'm glad I'm watching the Spanish (Spain) version, it sticks to the original script and doesn't fuck up like the Americans did.
