I grew up with the Ocean dub... apparently. But honestly, the voices sound weird to me. I DO remember Vegeta's voice sounding like this, but at the start of DBZ, not the Cell games. I don't remember the music. It all just sounds... odd.

I love how Vegeta considers Krillen foolish for thinking about helping Android 18 when not so long ago Vegeta was the one that allowed Cell to become complete. Vegeta can be very arrogant but he does have the odd moment of regard for safety; abliet rarely.
Funi has the better dub, but I perfer Ocean's soundtrack. Some Bruce Falconer themes can really set the mood, but in normal scenes, Ocean specializes.
@afc97 because they're not. Some of them are, like Android 16, but most of them own the crap out of Funi's VAs. You know why? because Ocean are renowned in the anime business for their quality dubs. Theyre PROFFESSIONALS. Thats why Funimation originally used Ocean when they first brought the show to the US, but had to stop when they ran out of money. So they used the local texas talent instead (cheap amateurs), who became your beloved FUNi voice cast.

Cell's genetic cell''s in his body had stored the power of android 17 and 18 even though he self destructed which would have resulted in him losing android 17's power aswell but my previous explanation explains this.
His cell's also retain a copy of his perfect form, retaining all the abilities and memories he had known before. He simply needed a single living cell to regenerate his entire being after self destructing.

It's not that Ocean sucks it's just that their voice direction is off in the Ocean Group's dub when they're alone. They used more epic tones and voice direction in Funimation. DBZ the ocean group's single dub was produced on a small budget with little editing time. It's still great however I mean I'm watching this video. The point is, Ocean ruled with Funi and slacked alone.

@spectergohan But even Ocean Group's dub for the Saiyan and Namek saga was funimation. It's not that Ocean sucks it's just that their voice direction is off in the Ocean Group's dub when they're alone. They used more epic tones and voice direction in Funimation. DBZ the ocean group's single dub was produced on a small budget with little editing time. It's still great however I mean I'm watching this video. The point is, Ocean ruled with Funi and slacked alone.

so this version of krillins voice was from ocean dubs? i didnt know that. i had always figured the voice was changed sometime during the frieza saga.. hm. i like funimation's krillin better, but thats my opinion.

the only ocean that i like is when vegeta says Its over 9000! but other than that its irrelevent to me, and it makes since that they killed trunks, cause during the kamehameha power struggle thingy, if trunks was there, he woulda powered up and blasted cell, and certainly it woulda did something to him to make him get blowd up by gohan

Ocean Pwns...except I do gotta agree with MikotoNakadai, Ocean Vegeta was great during his 'evil phase'...just doesn't work later on. Piccolo and Goku's voices are freakin great though! LOL I remember how many pissed off emails I sent Funimation telling them to bring back the 'real' voice talent.

ya u no wat? ... i kinda noticed the same thing, i loved vagetas ocean group voice wen he was in his evil phase but afterwards i felt that the funimation one fits better. personally im a funimation fan since i grew up with but i think the ocean voices r just fine and maybe a lil better for some characters
