Great finny! I have the same model, in black with tan interior and 4 on the floor. I got tired of the fussy Zeniths and adapted a single Holley to the intake. These are so much better than modern cars.
What new cars have grease fittings on the door hinges?
@najam68 Hi, no it's a 4 speed (5 speed was not available untill 1969 in the w114 modells). Floor shift was optional on the sedan models as from 1965. (I prefer steering shift though...)
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

To Lordnelson50538 ; If you don't like these cars, what the fuck are you doing here ? As a mercedes fan and owner, I found that it is a very nice car; a masterpiece !
My uncle used to have this car. It so fun driving it. When I was little I used to play with the wipers lol. Idk why but I wanna see the wipers go again LOL mind makin a video lol :)
it is a 2,3 Liter, 6 cylinder engine with one overhead camschaft and 2 valves per cylinder. It has 2 double stage carburettors. Max output 120 PS. Mercedes-Benz engine number: M180 (which was also used in the model W114). I drive it on an LPG installation which takes some of the engine power. It is not a fast car compared to new cars, but it can still reach speeds of 180 km/h on the highway.
I had a 1967 230S, what a fun car to drive, and it attracted people like I was some sort of movie star. The dual carbs canbe a PITA, and the engines only go about 60-70K before needing rebuilt.
well, I worked a lot on this car. Rust can be a serious problem but you can check that. Also check if the axles are not worn completely because they did not have fresh grease every 5000km!
For the rest it is an easy car to work on and can have a very long life.
Is this car hard to work on? I saw a '67 230 s and I really wanted it but I was scared it would be too rusted and hard to work on. What's your experience with the car?
Good sound for a car from 1966

What new cars have grease fittings on the door hinges?
Solid wood glove box doors?
Chrome plated latches?
This is a proper car.
New cars suck.

@Joniel120 Maybe you are confused with W111 coupe models (which had round clocks in the dash)?
W123W116 5 months ago
@W123W116 Oh, I get it, I thought that the W111s have this kind of dashboard before the circular speedometer like the W108 & 600
