Difference between ITV, Sky and the BBC is that the BBC is funded by a poll tax. Nobody has a say. We don't have to pay for Sky if we don't want to watch it. That's the beauty of a free enterprise system, if the BBC is as popular as the Guardian claims, it shouldn't have any problems collecting the funds it needs to survive and prosper.

She then went on to crack a joke about Jesus laying chocolate eggs at Easter. Is this what we pay almost £150 per year in licence fees for? If Jim Davidson (not that he'd get anywhere near the BBC these days) cracked an equivalent joke about Mohamed on teatime radio it would be headline news.
