  • I never heard anybody diss Jimmy Page.

And if it ever happens, I'll tell them to go fuck themselves!

    LOL!

  • 15 people are retarded! I think I have to go change my shorts!

  • The fact that mister Page choose the Crowes as a Live band, speak for itself....this is a colaboration made in heaven....Rock on!

  • Amazing..two legends, of course Page is another level, but we really love it....!!!!!!!!

  • Got to see this show twice that year. As if once didn't blow by head off. Holy shit. Still one of the best shows I've EVER seen (100+ over 30 years) In Worcester, MA, Joe Perry joined in at the encore. I still play the CD regularly. Wish it was on DVD!

  • AT 3:58 JIMMY MAKES THE DRUMMER BOW AND KICKS HIM INTO HIS GEAR!

  • THEE BEST JAMMIN

  • Dam! If I could play a guitar like that I wouldn't know what else to do with my hands? TY for this.....Peace

  • @cac1987fcb I agree with you when you talk about Slash, he sucks, but Hendrix is guitar/music genious! His music changed and influenced a whole generation of guitarrists. Even musicians like Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan got their mind blowed when they first listened to this beast! Love and respect both.

  • huhu he said squeeze my lemon........ hee heee

  • Fucking nice . 2.15 great scream . unbelieveable

  • I don't know a whole much about Led Zepp other than they're the greates band, but I dont get the same connection from page and this singer as I see with plant and page.

  • fuck are they, eejit.

  • black crowes are famous cuz of jimmy!!!! FACT!!!!!!

  • Why is this video not on DVD somewhere where I can buy it????

  • Black Crows are a fucking good rock band. And the fact the Jimmy Jesus Christ

Page plays with them goes to prove it

  • I can't believe I used to hate the Black Crowes! Boy do they respect this music...I love them now.

  • The audio on this sucks

  • Looks like 15 people need to have their lemon squeezed.

  • that may be the greatest thing i have ever seen.

  • fuckn Page ripps

  • shooting junk and smoking speed

  • l like my lemon sqwooze

  • Rocks! Nothing but! It is extremely freaking cool!

  • he still got them chops

  • Honestly, Chris's voice sounds better now than it did when this was recorded. I love the Crowes, but their late 90s live shows were a bit lacking in the vocal area.

  • They F$#@king NAILED it !!!!!!!!

  • the best f@#%n song of led zepp XD!!!!!!

I can't find the old jimmy page playing it with plant... =/

  • the best f@#%n song of led zepp XD!!!!!!

  • I Thought it was So Cool that JP did the gigs with the Black Crowes,

it wasn't something He needed to do...but did,..and they worked Great with him.

It took me a while to even Find the CD they made.

(Try to find it now....in any store....and Not on e-bay or where ever)

Jimmy Page IS The Ultimate Guitar Hero.....Nuff Said !!!

  • isn't the lyric, "if I had followed my first man"?

  • For sure they are pushing JP, but this is some of his best playing in ages!

Yes, he was different all the time playing live...listen to the old bootlegs.

In any given night he could totally blow it and blow your mind in the same song!!

  • wish the sound was a tad better quality, b ut have the cd, so all is well!!!!

  • ohhhh mann.. bad vocals….

  • good performance, but without Bonzo and Jonesy, it just sounds like a good cover. I also prefer Plants voice. Again though, good performance.

  • Dude, I was THERE!

  • They can't put their heart and soul into every night like that. Unfortunately my brother and I saw them on a off night, which I can understand, as what they do every night cannot be easy.

  • i didnt expect it to be that good, respect

    great jam

  • I can play this bass solo, it's the first one I have ever learned and was my personal battlehorse for many years, if you can play this you can throw it into most things..

People dissing this version should maybe listen to it a few more times, it seems to me they are pushing Jimmi a hell of a lot to get the best out of him :)

  • A perfect band for page after led zep

  • There's a lotta heroin addiction on that stage...

  • This really seems like a wedding cover band. Love the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page but I don't think they mix as well as everybody else seems to think. When was the last time any of you went back and listened to Zeppelin's recordings. They're sick!! Maybe this sounded a lot better live...

  • @rtoolio Guess it's the vid's audio itself what lacks a little punch (at a demanding level, in fact sounds real good not to be a dvd rip)

  • se paice al mister been este jimy page pero es un

    fiera con la guitarra

  • wow how cool is it to be a musician at any age and still rock the f out the house.thank god we can.

  • Wow, that guy can't sing for shit.

  • @plangentmusic Well, I think he can.

  • @bobbelibob So you can't tell when something is off-key? I guess that can be a blessing.

  • @plangentmusic I can and Chris is off key a little at the beginning of the video. Some times he's far more off key, but I kind of like his singing any way. But if some pop star is off key it's terrible. Don't ask me why but that's how I see it.

  • @plangentmusic yes he can and he is not off key. If your ear is not accustomed to listen to blues rock, this may sound clumsy to you.

Also, take a listen to some Jeff Buckley songs and tell me what you think of him.

  • iT WORKED!

  • the bass player kicks ass at 1:35..... what a tune

  • doesnt anybody notice the dudes "junk" flopping around?....its quite disturbing....

  • @Masokystic personally, I love dude-junk. I love floppy dude-junk the bestest though :)

  • @Masokystic don't you think very apt, after all it is the lemon song...did you hear anyone complain about that other dudes "junk"?....lol

  • @Masokystic junk? its his lemon.

  • once again someone talking shit, its a damn cover and they played and song it the way they wanted to so lay off chris robinson

  • terrible singing, off tune. I just love Jimmy's playing, awsome riffs. It's cool to see more or o less where his left hand goes to figure the guitar out. Fuck this singer is out of tune.

  • @thecaveofthedead

    Dude whatever.

A- Page is on fire in this video.

B- Noone cares that he's not playing it like your tablature book except you.

C- However Page plays it on any given night is by definition - How It's Done.

  • @alogghe could not agree with you more

  • @alogghe Jeez...who in the hell could be the one to stand up and tell Page how his work is done? Nobody. This woulda been one bad-ass concert to see.

  • @alogghe i could not agree with you more, i am sick of people checking out covers and being like," that not how it is played." music is music man, its feeling, not notes on paper. and this video is the guy who wrote the freaking song he can way he wants, it sounds awesome

  • @thecaveofthedead brother here he was getting used to life free of heroin, hes a little weak right here but now hes still spectacular. The reunion tour he was great, Foo fighters at wembley was awesome, and in it might get loud that old soul was back in his play. its page for god's sake.

  • @thecaveofthedead there was a two year period in the 80s where he didnt play guitar.. this isnt 71 Page, but its still Page throwin blues licks.. just like he aways could

  • @thecaveofthedead dude im a guitar player and so are most of my friend of different ages. if you have a passion for playing you don't put it down. you pick it up at least once a day.

where is the strutting superman? he's a guest at a black crows show... even if your better you never out show your host!

  • There aren't words to describe how bad ass this is!! I just saw The Black Crowes for the first time at Whitewater Amphitheater and I have to say it's up there with one of the best!

  • the drummer is a little out of his depth here, but good for him for getting to play with Jimmy.

  • chris can do no wrong!

  • Brilliant!

    Thanks for posting.

  • yea dude! chris almost sound better than plant at some points

  • anyone getting the chance to play with the guy can't do wrong. Chris would not be my choice though.but who would.

  • Page is what 62 or 63 when he played this? and he can still shred like a monster!

  • @corky2002 he was 55

  • Comment removed

  • Great, the best live performance i saw after led zeppelin, better than actual led zeppelin and pretty near to rober plant´s voice, they caught the spirit, its sad they cant do any similar at their albums :S

  • Probably the best post Led Zeppelin live performance to date. I am just in awe. Great audio quality! Thanks for posting!

  • Wow, incredible.

  • Bad Ass!

  • is this concert avail. on dvd?

  • only the worthy get jimmy

  • piano solo was awesome

  • God Damn you hardcore Zep fans are really chuggin along these days.Ya I used to think Jimmy Page was the second coming of Christ..I listened to How the West Was Won 10 times a day but that was when I was 15!..There ARE better bands and guitarists

out there..you just need to know where to look...I just discovered this amazing cover of Good Times Bad Times....Type in youtube Good Times Bad Times Phish..tell me what you think...and pls dont waste your time telling me how stupid I am nobody cares

  • @wharfrat89 Ur ryt, that was a groovy cover...a little sloppy at times, but hey when the band just jammed, awesome!

  • guys watch lez zeppelin do this. not very good audio quality but its pretty awesome

  • Yeah, they got retro sales on horrible contracts.the record co.'s got the cash ,what they got was an increase in touring dates. They had to go out and make their own cash on their own popularity, that they already had in their own culture and it was't just black. The Britt's loved it and tried to emulate it and here we are.

  • Ive thought alot this issue and its clear to me that zeppelin breathed new life into those old songs and hardly anyone would know about those old blues guys if they hadnt been ripped off so mercilessly. think about it. they got ALOT of retro sales because of how popular rock & roll became

  • Gotta love that piano solo...

  • That's okay, they're still great, but they did do a lot of rip-offs.

  • Because they never wrote it. It's Howling Wolf's Killing Floor. Zep were a great band, but they ripped off so much stuff and said they wrote it. Like Zep II? Whole lotta Love is Willie Dixon's You need Love. Bring it on home is by Sonny Boy Williamson. Moby Dick is Bobby Parker's Watch your step, and Lemon Song is Howling Wolf's Killing Floor. Even the 'squeeze my lemon' lyric that gave the new title is a lyric lifted from Robert Johnson.

So, they never wrote a lot of 'their own' stuff. Happy?

  • moby dick was origanl the just copy a few part of other songs jack ass

  • @JesusMFingChrist I know what you mean, but to say "Whole Lotta Love is Willie Dixon's You Need Love" isn't exactly fair, considering it's all original riffs and solos etc apart from the lyrics. Granted, using other people's lyrics/music without crediting them isn't fair either, but it's a bit misleading just to say that entire thing is a rip off. Similar story with the others you mentioned. And anway, Robert Johnson didn't originally write the squeeze my lemon lyric, so is he just as guilty?

  • Okay, the entire thing is not a note-for-note copy. Taking some things is okay. Everyone does that, But...when you see how much, it does change your perception a little. But they still were a great band. How the West was Won has some great things on it.

  • Thank You, God these Ppl are morons

  • to 89Blues

Yeah, guitar riff and solos in "Whole Lotta Love" are original and great - no doubt about it BUT Mr Robert Plant not only took the lyrics from Dixon/Waters song. It's Small Faces rendition "You Need Loving" which inspired him - his vocal, phrasing, melody line and that stop at the end "woman, you need love" it's pure Steve Marriott - check this stuff, great british 60's R&B. Robert Plant was a huge fan of these guys. Oh and Marriott was a first singer that Page wanted in his band.

  • One of the best songs that Zeppelin (n)ever wrote.

  • Check out a great interview with legendary Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford at VirtualWoodshed[dot]com!

  • Daaaaaaaaam dog? Why you gotta play that bass so FAT. JPJ is like yea that what I said when I said it the first time.

  • Crowes did one hell of a job with this one. And having Jimmy Page with them? Not bad at all.

Bass player did a hell of a job, as well. Always loved this bass line.

  • This guy is off key!!! He's shouting and voice quality isn't bad but he's off key!!!!

    Page must be dying inside.

  • It's rock and roll music, as long as it gets people moving on their feet it doesn't matter! ; )

  • If it didn't matter why have Page?

Listen to punk. All energy no musicianship.

    And it's great.

But Page is about being the finest musician.

That's what he got in Led Zeppelin. Even Sid Vicious is on key when singing "MY Way" one of my fav performances. peace.

  • Not off key. He's sings some "blue" notes here and there. But he's hardly off key. Just a hater

  • As idiotic as it is to argue with you,

look at my channel. You will probably see that I love blues, jazz and especially this guitarist.

Me a hater? Because I have ears and disagree with you? People accuse one only of that which they do.

  • Thoughtful and eloquent; a fine mind.

My compliments on your education, good manners and civility.

  • BTW checked your channel and your are an expert! on cars.

  • @francescaemc2

Um Jimmy Page didnt "get in" to Zeppeling... he created zeppelin.

  • Wow! That is awesome, dude. Thanks!

  • @lammyb easy gene simmons

  • you couldnt be more right

  • $what do you think about eddie vedder(pearl jam vocals and huitar), chris robinson(black crowes singer) jimmy page, tim renolyds(dave mathews acoustic guitar) and lars ulrich(metallica drummer)

    and jeff amnent(bass pearl jam)

  • the singing is actually really good... im impressed :P

  • This is amazing.

  • Chris is a very passable lemon squeezer..

  • God bless the Crowes for carrying the torch for bands like Zeppelin and Humble Pie into today's musical hemisphere. This is just an absolute collector's item for any rocker who wants to hear what it was it was like during the 70's. The true GOLDEN AGE of rock and roll. All hail the TUBE and rock on.

  • I was at both shows at the Greek. Have the original CDs when they were released by some dot-com which since went under and later were re-released.

Thanks so much for the video. I have played the CDs tons, but the visual brings back memories from when I was in the 13th row one night and the 20th the next!

  • As far as Im concerned there is no better band, young or old, than Led Zeppelin. Simple. They are the best band with the best songs ever!! There are loads of other brilliant bands around, but none with the mystery, style, power, brilliance of LZ!!

  • OMFG, this is an excellent version, he does great at singing it, his voice works well with this song. Page is on fire as usual. Sweet version, thx for sharing.

  • Look at Jimmy's right hand when he open's the pot and puts the pickup in phase mode. You can hear it good. Did anyone else catch that?

  • Most underated drummer of all time.

  • Bass player deserves a mention too. Great job.

  • Oh SHIT!!! Totally forgot about this collaboration. This rocks to all end. If I remember correctly, there was a double live CD too. Pagey back on top of the world here!

  • um dos melhores sons do Led Zeppelin! Jimmy Page sem duvidas um deus da guitarra!

  • what a heartfelt rendition from these guys!

  • when was this from ? Jimmy looks on form that night .

  • nothing better in the world than a joint flavor lime-lemon a this zep song

  • @GODCORRUPTED love this song... i dont understand why the people say slash and hendrix are better than page... jimmy page is kick ass and the most influential guitarist alive or dead. amen

  • @cac1987fcb u cant compare slash to to jimmy page. and hendrix close but no cigar jimmy was the best!

  • @jtckrew i said beacuse some people compare jimmy with slash. i cant do it.jimmy is the best

  • @cac1987fcb putting slash in with hendrix and page??? there's yer problem dude!

  • just sweet

  • awesome!

  • FUCK!

    bad ass!

    wow!

  • Just a night on the town for jimmy

  • sciuto01

    lol, are you kidding?

It's a rip off of Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor

Hendrix did it too but unlike Led Zep he was enough wholesome to not chang the song's name...

  • For your information, the line 'Squeeze my lemon till the juice runs down my leg', actually comes from Robert Johnson's 'Travelling Riverside Blues', a song that Led Zeppelin would go on to cover later in their career. But yeah, Jay Walkers right, some of the lyrics are taken from Killin Floor.

  • it's not only lyrics but guitar riff and melody, but yeah you are right about * the lemon* ;) but it's definitely not from Johnson's 'Crossroads' .

Oh how creative were LZ on their first two albums heheeheh ;) I love them nonetheless :)

  • Yeah man, Zep will always be great, but Page nicked loads for those albums! I was surprised to find out that not even Dazed and Confused was his origional idea. Some random guy wrote it, then Pagey took it, made it awesome and broadcast it to the world without any acknowledgment of the original creator!! haha!

  • Amazing!! so are 256,879,461 other blues songs!!!

"Lesser artists borrow, great artists steal."

    -Igor Stravinsky

  • this guy does a good cover of Robert Plant's voice.

  • have you never heard the black crows before? They have like 9 albums. He is his own. Hi voice just goes great with zep songs.

  • Totally agree with you re: Chris Robinson's voice simply going great with Zep songs. This show kind of confirms what I've always thought, that Black Crowes is one of the few current bands that truly channels late 60s-early70s rock. Passing the baton.

  • If you like good Bluesy 70s influenced rock, check out "The Black Keys". You'll thank me.

  • ben011235813

all singers have their influences. Chris is no exception nor is Plant, but if you would like to know which white singer influenced both of them, and I'm really not lying- it's STEVE MARRIOTT from Small Faces and Humble Pie.

If you want a proof you can hear on YT the song 'You Need Loving' by Small Faces. Robert took his phrasing directly from Marriott to sing "Whole Lotta Love".

  • ben011235813 (part 2) I also recommend to watch - The Small Faces, German TV show "Beat Beat Beat" - part 2 with What'cha Gonna Do About It - for sure Page and Plant have seen those guys in action! (This is a fact they knew them and liked them) ;-)

As for Chris's influences. Not long time ago I've read an interview with Chris where he said that he's a Steve Marriott rip off - very honest man haha :-)

And to be frank, BC's music is not far away from Humble Pie's stuff too.

  • damn dude who ever filmed this has a fuckin gr8 camera, and good sound

  • Theres a legit CD of these shows out there, and a bootleg DVD, I think the DVD was made by taking this guy's video & the real sound from the CD....no way a camcorder could do this sound

  • Those saying that Page stole most of what he "wrote" don't seem to understand that using blues standards and the evolution of these standards or so to say the artist's new interpretation of a standard blues riff or line is and was perfectly acceptable. Without Page's interpretations most of the song's never would have risen to the fame they did.

  • NO SHIT

  • you must be robert plant with all you excuses

  • o good ol pagey, what a beast

  • well yeah, but his "version" of this Wolf's song kicks asses too. He wrote this unique version. It's his song in a way too.

  • zosopage101 , jazzy stuff? you must be a musician, why do you feel the need to say someones better than someone else, hendrix and page are both good with different styles

  • I've always saw Black Crows as the New Led Zeppelin

  • Listen to the bass. The poor guy cant do what Jones did on the record. Actually, just a few could.

  • page can't do what page did on the record either.

  • hahahaha , c'mon man. Page is a genius. He wrote the song.He doesn't need to do what he did on the record. But the this bass player should try harder to sound like Jones. He is not even near. Just listen.

  • chumicalica

actually it's a pretty much a rip off of Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor....

Don't get me wrong, I love this song but IMO Page borrowed too much to say he wrote it ;-)

  • Yeah this is actually a blues riff

  • Just another brick in the wall.

  • According to BioTV, this is the song that got Plant kicked out of college. pfff... who needs college?

  • *CORRECTION* Jimmy Page got kicked from HIGH school for playing this at that time it was too Heavy. and TRUE Who the FUCK need s SCHOOL HOLY Schnikles

  • *CORRECTION* how is that possible this song came out in 1969, Jimmy Page was 24 or 25 years old. Why would he be in highschool when he is 25. You graduate when your 18.

  • windy fellow is correct. and its not hard to figure out any of the songs that were partly borrowed. if zeppelin or page himself really wanted to pretend they wrote them, they probably wouldnt pick songs that are that easy to trace to the very original. page was and is the best. just the way it is. sorry to break up your delusion agfistan.

  • For the Record all Hendrix done was make distortion and the Wah known,. He could play Blues only,..... Look at Page, He plays it all FOLK,COUNTRY,ROCK,BLUES,JAZZY STUFF, He can play steel guitar,Slide Guitar,Banjo,Mandolin, pretty much anything with strings and can even combine them and make something his own. The first time he picked up a Banjo he wrote some of a song with it. Listen to Gallows Pole. I rest my Case. PAGE IS THE MAN NOT FREAKIN GAY HENDRIX :)

  • Fu&*in Jimmy Page is the man and that's the Bottom Line. They were not sell outs like most music today,. They didnt even do singles becuase of that reason. Stairway still gets played on the radio and it wasnt even a single or advertised in the U.S. ZEP WILL LIVE FOREVER.

  • ¡Maravilloso!

  • Led Zeppelin is my favorite and the black crowes are a close second, and seeing a collaboration is just great

  • Marvellous!!! Thanks for posting:)

    Grandma Mary

  • heh. I didn't know page played with the black crowes for a gig. nice.

  • Zeppelin didn't "steal" anything. They covered songs. Just like every other musician of their time. ALL good musicians and bands get/got better by covering. They met Elvis once and he was honored that they played some of his songs... I know for a fact if they met any other Blues musician he'd be honored to have Zepp cover his songs. I think people forget the times. It's not like metallica and napster. It's not Zepp's fault that they got famous doing what every other Blues musician did.

  • But if I record the "Immigrant So
