Why do racist elements always come up in the presence of such a beautiful art form? The notion made by @locinty that bomba should be played only afro puerto ricans is absurd as such a thought falls well within the limits of american views on race. Though my appearance may be 'white' to some standards my family has its roots in Loiza and theyre damn pleased that Ive chosen to continue the traditions of bomba.

Gracias,el problema es que no hay raiz.El baleador y subidor tocado en 2/4 or 6/8,hacen posible la controversia del bailador y los barriles sean en lero,yuba,cunya,babu y belen.
Tanto el baile como los toque tienen su armonia y

What about Mayaguez...where it is common knowledge that Bomba was first recognized?..Bomba is also a conciousness..a link to the mysteries of nature.......It goes beyond the frontier of space and race .I don't know what bomba means for residents of Puerto Rico....

what??? so just because it's from african ancestry in PR only the afr ricans can play? thats the most rediculous thing ive ever heard...this is a puerto rican traditional dance and music therefore any puerto rican can play it as long as they have respect for bombas history and its significance for puerto rican culture
