Yes.. but a few of the planes I wanted to see had cancelled.. :( ..and I missed the Mustang by minutes, but wanted to leave early to avoid the crowds on the train back.. from what I did see it did an excellent display, though.. :)
Yes, my son has already promised me a ride there in his new car.. and to Lowestoft Air Show too, combined with a Hannants visit probably!! He felt sorry for me yesterday.. and that says something!! :) :)
Mind you, he has to get the car first, but I think the Governement will give him a hand with that!
I used to have friends who lived in Pakefield. As to the car, I have 3 recommendations; 1. an MG Magnette from 1960; 2. a Daimler 4 dour from 1960...3. A Citroen DS19, lovely car and one the latest detective type series star drives...the Mentalist is the name of that show...Columbo had drive a Peugeot 403 convertible...any French designed car will do!
automatic French car will be fine...DS19 I think is best here and perhaps a nice Peugeot 403 convertible will cheer him....I began learning on a Chevy 1950 'carryall' that had a sloping hood - I had trouble judging where the front of the car was, and it was a 3 speed H pattern on the steering column. Maybe a nice black 4 door 210 model 1953 Chevrolet with Powerglide...our first family new car..yes, that will be his obvious choice :)
Don't kniow what car he will chose yet, but I'll let you know.. it's a bit far away right now.. first he needs to learn to walk again, then we can get going on driving! He learnt on a manual of'course.. but will need a lesson or two to get going again, probably.. :)
That's ok.. just having a bit of a down moment today.. My wife gave me a bunch of papers to read that she'd been given, re the 'illness' in general, and the long term survivability rate in particular.. it's not exactly uplifting! Still, at least it's on the right side of 50%.. just.. They're going back again tomorrow, but if my son's mouth ulcers doesn't improve they may well come home again the same day! As I've said before, planning and organizing is impossible.. :(
When I started working nights there was no need for a supervisor, as there was only 2 of us sharing the task.. But the other year they expanded the business, and there was 6 of us, so they wanted a supervisor after all. I didn't apply for the job, even though they pay would have been much better.. butI didn't feel like an early heart attack.. We're doing all sorts of things, helping out where needed.. general dogsbodies, in other words..
Some people.. well, most people claim it to be the most beautiful plane ever designed.. I differ slightly, but then I am biased towards the Saab J35 Draken.. I have to admit that the Hunter is one special aircraft though. I will build one at some point, it will be a Swedish Air Force J34 Hunter, they used it as a stop-gap while waiting for the Draken to become operational.. :) :)
Yes, it was ok, thanks.. a few too many cancellations due to the windy weather though.. and other things! I also left early to avoid the crowds coming back.. but what I did see was good! :)
I saw that Hunter at Marham Families Day '09. I believe she's called Miss Demeanour. Purty paint job. :D

Since jets shoot at each other from miles (km's) away...
Why not just paint them pretty like that:)
I'd feel bad shooting that down if I were a pilot!

This plane is amazing, saw it a marhem families day.
Was the only plane that came close to breaking the sound barrier.
Was talking to a mate about the new missiles on the Tornado then suddenly *phoomp* straight over head, broke left and landed, amazing.
Nice footage.
