  • This is so Groovy, Mike would be great as a regular guest singer on the Alan Partridge show this would suit Alan's style , or lack of it , Brilliant and clever

  • i don't like this

    but it's hilarious! haha

  • this is shit

  • Spandau Ballet should cover this.

  • @GraphoO Ohhh... I cant believe Noel Gallagher actually liked this song lol. And yes, Wonderwall and many of Oasis songs are great!! :D No hay duda de eso lol.

  • What is this?!! Is this serious? I dont know whether i should laugh at his hair or cry b/c he just ruined the greatest song ever! I think Noel should sue him for ruining his song lol.

  • @Wonderwall9207 Noel Gallagher liked the song, actually. And wonderwall is by no means the greatest song ever, Noel Gallagher would tell you that as well, hahaha.

  • Kinda sounds like Paul Anka's cover.

  • hehe haha! I've alwayts found the clip so FUNNY! (but I don't like the music!)

  • I saw this for the first time on the documentary "Live Forever" and I just couldn't help to sing it this way in my head...haha...Oasis is one of my favourite bands ever, for some people this version might be offensive but for me it's hilarious and catchy as well.

  • I'm more disturbed by his hair than anything...

  • It makes me laugh so much. I love it. Smile of Trollface from beginning to end

  • This was hilarious when it was released. I'm sure it was a big hit in the UK - and Mike Flowers got 15 minutes of fame.

    Good times.

  • @DingKong It managed the same position in the chart as Oasis' original - but it was released around Christmas - a battle between this and Earth Song for Christmas number one. However the Oasis single spent ages on the charts (most of 1996 in actual fact) whereas Mike Flowers had to settle for 7 weeks.... plus two as a re-entry in April '96....

  • i feel like every violent thought in my body has just dissolved

  • Lol killed the song.

  • Funny

  • The woman in the yellow dress is the only one of the three backup vocalists who doesn't look totally awkward.

  • Here is the real story; it was all fun on BBC radio and a joke...

The band became famous in the UK in 1995 when they released a cover version of Oasis' hit song "Wonderwall". Flowers had been recruited by BBC Radio 1 DJ Kevin Greening to cover the 'Hits of 95' for Greening's Saturday show; "Wonderwall" was his first week's project. Chris Evans heard the song and made it 'single of the week' on his Radio 1 breakfast show, telling listeners that this was the original version (read on Wikipedia).

  • Now i Know what my Teacher makes in he's Weekend ...

  • fantastic song, too bad Oasis ruined it, why touch a classic like this!

  • @Kaptenmork ??? Oasis originally wrote and performed this song in 1996. How can they cover their own song?

  • Awesome. Regardless of all the nay sayers. This is the most epic cover I have ever heard. This far surpassed oasis... and boy I loved Oasis' cover of Mike's song xD

  • ah! This is amazing! For a while, I wished I was transformed back to the 60's

  • @edibleplywood dont think so, Oasis' one is THE one ! This one is nice thoe :)

  • @edibleplywood fuck ya

  • This guy is so cool.....

  • i love this....top... :-)))

  • this bring me nightmares U.u

  • The first time I heard this, I thought it was the original and Oasis covered it.

  • I absolutely love his face at 2:04

  • hahaha its different. i prefer the original in terms of how good it is, but... this is Bleeding Awesome! :D :D makes me smile like mad now hahaha

  • This sucks -.-

  • Hilarious!! This 'Mike Flowers' has quite a suprisingly smooth 'Mel Torme quality to his voice. It was very entertaining!

  • LOL.

  • One of the finest sex symbols this country has ever produced , a marvellous head of hair aswell which if I am correct is now in full time employment for Sir Elton John , delightful .

  • You gotta laugh about noel bleating about this rip-off, when ALL his songs are ripped off from beatles tunes ... roflol

  • I really hate Oasis's cover of this.

  • @seniorclapshishands OASIS originally wrote and performed this song in 1996. They can't COVER their own song. You probably wasn't even born then if you didn't know that. LMAO

  • @frankenangel The comment you're replying to was clearly sarcastic. LMAO.

  • @frankenangel hahahahahahaha... and it was 1995 sonny jim

  • @seniorclapshishands The Original Version is From Oasis Stupid

  • @MadFerIt12311 *Facepalm* Utter dipshit. I bet you're a yank, it fits the stereotype

  • @killzerdood Troll Time: Just kidding: problem?:, And I'm not a yank,

  • Nice cheeky wink around 0:37

  • Superb!

A far superior rendition of the "Eyebrow Brothers" miserable dirge

and all the better for being delivered by Mr. Flowers who resembles a cross

between Long John Baldry and a male model from a Littlewoods catalogue

    circa 1965.

    Thank you for posting.

  • quality, i prefer this to oasis

  • great!!

  • This is the funniest video I have seen in my life

  • 425 people don't have humor sense...

425 pessoas não tem senso de humor... kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • This is great, it takes all sorts, life to bloody short to hate! and if gran & grandad like this, maybe they might hear the original too. thats good.

  • QUE MIERDA ES ESTO????

  • The sax girl looks like Rose's mom on Dr Who.

  • Nice hair.

  • Ah come on! This one is good too!

  • Better than the original version!

  • omfg! >_<

  • Love this version LMAO

  • LOL

  • When this first came out in the UK it was a great gag. UK radio stations even pretended this was the "discovered original version" of the song. Noel thought this was hilarious, especially when someone at his record company, after hearing Flowers version, asked him if he had really written Wonderwall.

  • @FabFM hehehe, nice trick to say it´s the"discovered original version", that´s really hilarious, and it´s not the worst promo & marketing strategy ;)

  • leuk en grappig

  • MFP was a fun project from the beginning & was never meant to be taken seriously. and still you can listen to it, relax & have a good time, actually it´s really good music :)

so pls. Oasis purists, mind you there are many, many cover versions on the market. this one is one of the better ones ;)

  • @harpiyon This was the first cover of Wonderwall. Several others tried to cover it and Noel refused. He was sent a tape of the Mike Flowers version and he and the other guys in Oasis thought it was hilarious and Noel authorized Flowers version.

  • @FabFM ah nice, i heard Noel liked this version but didn´t know the full story, thanx :)

btw i also like the version by Ryan Adams, i think that´s also one of very vew versions authorized by Oasis.

  • @FabFM sorry dude, that's bs. there isn't such a thing like authorization for covers. you can cover every song you want without any permission from the writer. the only thing you have to do is to name the original writer for royalty reasons. that's it. or do you believe noel would have given the permission to rod stewart's cigarettes & alcohol cover? or that bint who covered stop crying you heart out? i don't think so.

  • @mouthman Complete rubbish. In order to cover a song you need permission from the publishers, and Noel told his publishers that he didn't want the smurfs and the barron knights covering this even though they wanted too. Noel himself stated this and also started that before Mike was given permission to release this he sent Oasis a demo tape of this. Do you know what the word copyright means... you need permission to release someone elses work... FACT!

  • @FabFM no you dont. if youd release a song and id decide to cover it you could do nothing to prevent me from doing it. theres a difference between the actual copyright of a song that has been recorded and the song itself as an artistic accomplishment. means: you are NOT allowed to use the recording as it appears on morning glory without permission, but you can do whatever you want with what is the song wonderwall. part of the money you make out of it goes directly to noel. thats how it works.

  • @mouthman No it's not. The publishers can stop you covering a song and Noel told the publishers he didn't want various acts covering his songs. Why do you think Beatles songs were not used in commercials for many years? Because the publishers wouldn't allow it - cover version or not!

  • @FabFM no dude, where did you get that info from? here is a quote from wikipedia, that sums it up pretty good: "While a composer cannot deny anyone a mechanical license for a new recorded version, he or she has the right to decide who will release the first recording of a song." that basically means that if a song has been released, you CANNOT prevent anyone from covering your song. good news is, that it'll make you money (search wiki for mechanical license").

  • @mouthman Maybe copyright laws have changed over the last 15 or so years then.

  • trippin face that man

  • If you can remember 1995 and the non stop wail from Oasis week in week out you will understand just why this song did so well. If you are listening to Oasis for the third time round you won't get it.

  • A lot of people don't like it. Have they seen Spinal Tap ? The guy has an album called "The Freebase Connection: The Mike Flowers Pops meets Aphex Twin" for God's sake.

It's still better than Rhianna, irony or not.

  • hahaha, this is hilarious! his facial expressions are priceless.

  • sounds like jim morrison

  • Eu amei,sério

  • @tatosama também achei legal.

  • wait... this video makes some people mad? weird.

  • OHBEY HEY BABY!!!

  • The Fact Is: My Physics Teacher is the Trombonist! :D

  • @neverangry18 some time ago another guy also said this, send the link to him

  • @neverangry18 I went to school with Mike

  • @neverangry18 yeah my Media lecturer is the bassist! No joke! The guy at like 4 seconds in. Hilarious

  • i like his interpretation xD

  • I cannot watch this video without having a big grin on my face. Pure genius. Also the period he's spoofing is the late sixties. 1968 I reckon.

  • Sometimes I suspect the Aphex Twin of having something to do with Mike Flowers, something more than that remix he did for him...

  • I cany believe that Tasmin Archer tarnished her career by having a 3some with this guy and Jarvis Cocker.

  • I liked it! LOL

  • LMAOOOOOOO

  • i feel rickroll'd

  • @xgoggles so do i

  • Já vi piores.

  • if you hate this,

then you take life too seriously

  • @mnelson42 No sh*t. I mean, I love the original. But this is pretty damn funny.

  • I bet if Oasis saw this guy they'd beat him up.

  • @newspapertux .................My god are you for real? Oasis (Noel and Liam) could not fight sleep! They couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag! They are all mouth and no action mate, don't believe me? Liam in particular is notorious for dropping his arse after starting fights (check out the time he made his mouth go to the German mafia......and promptly returned to the UK without his front teeth after having them smashed out with an ashtray. I, for one, laughed my tits off that day!

  • @newspapertux no they liked this cover
