  • 밤 11시에 이걸 보니까 크리티컬

  • I do not like pork, can I substitute with other meats??

  • @Pionottelly11 yes, you can use beef steak.

  • @Pionottelly11 Pork is a lot juicier, especially the belly. Beef is not the same for this dish.

  • WTF AWESOME .... cheers,!

  • in my country(indonesia) we have 2 soy souce, the sweet one and the salty one. Which one must i use to make samgyeopsal? thx :D

  • @monika3527 I would use sweet soy sauce even though I have never tasted. : ) Cheers!

  • @monika3527 Depends on your personal preferance. When I want a sweeter sauce, I use Sweet Soy sauce and when I want a more savoury, saltier sauce, I use normal Soy sauce.

  • jf you worry about fat, eat pork with saletd baby shrimps. people say it separates fat so it could be digested easier.

  • @oh7ohoh well it doesnt, sorry to inform you about that.

  • This is my favorite dish! good job. :o)

  • Maangchii I hope you know you get a lot of your fans because of Korean drama viewers XD many of us come here to see how to make the food we saw on our favorite drama's.

Anyway I made this a little while ago, had to use artificial sugar instead of real sugar and it still came out just fine :D Also I minced the garlic. Couldn't deal with a whole clove ><

  • Just wondering.. I live in Melbourne, I really want the iron plate you are using in this video. Do you know where I can buy it weather a shop or online store? thanks

  • if i was to buy that korean grill, do i have to buy the little burner too??? i saw a friend do this on an american griddle and it looks good too...but i was wanting a korean grill....i was just wondering how much it is.

  • @Phaythful not much. Burners are like 20 ish bucks and you want to get grill too. Maybe total of 50 the most for all of it.

Mine was cheap. Grill costed 20 bucks and burner was 15.

If you live in apt make sure to leave the windows open or turn off your fire alarm. Mine always went off when i did sahmpyupsal....

  • Nickhun's fav food ! LOL

  • @TheNajihah96 SNSD ate it to celebrate their award winning! XD

  • @TheNajihah96 Nope, Khuntoria's favorite food :)

  • So you don't have to marinate the meat or do anything to it?

How do you make the dipping sauce that is white and very salty? I had it in Korea when I ate this, it looked like white sand =]

  • @happycharmtropical For the meat, all you need to do is cook it. I also take a disposable razor and shave the tiny hairs off the pork skin but that is optional.

The seasoning you are thinking of is just salt and seseame oil.

  • i had just tried it. This recipe of yours is super delicious, all of us in the family liked it so much.

  • i love samgyeopsal.... yummy yummy...

  • @BeyondSurprises27 8 pounds! Congratulations! You can make kimchi stew, kimchi stir-fried rice, and kimchi pancake when your kimchi ferments. Kimchi is gone quickly. : )

  • *0* ooh maangchi, your recipe is so cool, so sad that i cant find the sesame oil here in my country... well, in this case in my city, i didn't travel to santiago to check out... ): i want so hard to cook your delicious korean food ... :)

  • This looks soooo delicious. I was just going over the recipe and typing it out to make a list of ingredients and I'm wondering what the carrot is for. Do you eat it raw in the lettuce wrap or on the side. Please no laughing, I've never eaten this before or even been in a Korean Restaurant. I learn everything from you and Aeri. ( oh, and Korean Drama)

  • @maraskywalkeriii check the recipe on my website. All info you are looking for is posted there such as written recipe, tips, photos of the ingredients, comments, questions, and my answer.

  • hello maangchi! this is my first time watching your videos.

you are really amazing! are you studying cullinary arts because you're so good.

^________^ do you know how to make ramyun with ddukbokki? please make a video, i really want to learn how to cook it. oh! i'm going to try making samgyeopsal at home if i have time, i love to make korean dishes. even though i'm still 15 right now i really love to cook. hehehe :D by the way i love all your vids :D ^____^

  • @yanerz09 Thank you very much. I don't eat ramyeon often but someday I will post the recipe. Put dried ramyeon and the soup powder in boiling water in a pot and add chopped kimchi, green onion, and rice cake. Cook a few minutes until the noodles are cooked. Crack 1 egg and add it on top and turn off your stove and eat it. simple recipe.

  • @Maangchi oh i see. ahm, is it okay not to put kimchi in it? i'm not really into kimchi.

but i think the taste of it would turn bad right? :D BTW i perfectly made the Gye ran mal yee: 계란 말이. it really taste good! it was thanks to your recipes :) i have a question is it okay i'll put ham in Gye ran mal yee? so that i won't only taste the onion and so that it would have a little meat? :DD

  • @yanerz09 of course you can skip kimchi. Congratulations on your successful gyeranmalyee (egg side dish: Korean style roleed omelette )making. Yes, you can add some chopped ham, too.

  • Thanks so much for making this! I love this dish!!! I can't wait to try making it!!!

  • Oh Maangchi, I really love this dish! I'm so addicted too it! lol. I'm probably gaining weight! :P

  • Perhaps the fat pork cut can be substituted with a lean muscle meat.

It will still be the same concept of grilling the meat & wrapping in lettuce & sauce.

It will still be tasty but without the fat :)

  • mmmm. so yummy ^^

i wish i can visit korean so i can try all korean foods.

oh yeah, that man is so funny. i like him ^^

  • Pretty Lilies!

  • yummmm i am so gonna make this thank you !!!

  • well, the skin just gives a little extra crisp. But I guess this dish is not very friendly for fat phobics out there. But It's a classic i remember from my time in sydney:)

  • I would definitely eat with the skin on!!! Yum, I think I'm going to wait to make this in the summer so I can do it outside! :)

  • LOL Maangchi! Did you just roll it into a ball and shove the whole thing in your mouth? Cute!

  • @hawtinhawaii lol, yeah, that's the way of eating samgyeopsal gui. My Chinese friend was also very surprised to see the scene.

  • She's also my hero!!!

  • i noticed korean cooking involves a lot of garlic and green onion... That explains why my Asian store sells green onion by a HUGE BUNCH!

  • @Thood618 you are right! : )

  • dont forget sesame oil :)

  • excellent

  • I also like samgyeopsal cooked with kimchi as well sometimes. A great combo =D

  • What kind of Soy Sauce do you normally use, Maangchi? There are so many types and brand of Soy Sauce... i get so puzzled when i go through the aisle.

  • @snowgurl330 I like "saempyo" dark soy sauce. The photo of soy sauce is posted on the ingredient section on my website.

  • Looks so delicious! I cannot wait to make this dish. The onion salad looks so good, too. THANK YOU!

  • This looks very delicious

how long does it take to make it?

  • This recipe is exactly how it's made in Seoul. I haven't eaten Samguypsal since 2006, so my wife and I made this. It came out PERFECT. Thanks for the recipe! :)

  • @jutaloopiedo You are very welcome! Thank you for your update!

  • haha i liked this video it was very funny (especially the captions)

one thing though he mentioned you should flip it a lot,

samgyupsal aficionados claim flipping it only once will result in the best taste!

  • lol can you make kimchi pancakes? :D

  • i bet i can eat that spring onion salad with rice and be happy all my life.. :)

  • : ) I can't enjoy samgyeopsal gui without the green onion salads.

  • wat if we dont have the cooking pot...can we use a regular pot??
