I didn't get to play this game super extensively. My father got wayyy back, even before the new update. I had played it off and on because it could only be on his account, considering I was younger back then. I think I got in the 20s with my Trandoshan, maybe 30s. Being a bounty hunter was amazing. I really wish I could've played this game way more.
I really dont know how ppl can use and abuse their cd case like that... I seen my friends cd case and other ppl's cd case and im still like wtf what do u do to it, throw it around the room? I have over 10 year old cd cases that look ALMOST bland new... u know why cuz i dont sleep with my cd case or throw it at ppl or take it to a party and do gods know whatever to it.... Seriously how do u damage the case like that when u dont even need to touch the case after the first installation.

i feel like they just make games simply because they know that it will sell decent. i want a star wars game that feels like a modern fps game only on a larger scale. something like killzone 3 only on the same scale as MAG. i feel like that would be an accurate representation of what a star wars game should be. or maybe something like a revamped version on battlefront 2? idk its just that it really does need improvement imo

@xxbrkdwnxx Star Wars Galaxies Pre-Combat Upgrade was one of the best MMO of that time and all time. It started to degrade when Sony applied the Combat Upgrade which turns SWG into a WoW clone.
For people who miss the game, head to swgemu, they are still up and running.
I still have everything in that box, even the Closed Beta Discs they sent out, heh, good game when it first came out.... for the first few months, then when the Jump to Lightspeed came out it really was even better,,,, then NGE.... yeh.... thank-god for SWTOR ;)
@PunisherPayne They probably wouldn't release it as Free to Play, because they would have to pay for the servers, and they wouldn't be making anything from it. The reason they shut down, was they were making less money off of the players, then was needed to pay for servers. And they knew, the player count would go to like 0 after SW:TOR comes out since it's just around the corner.
I think it's kind of lame that the game can just shut down like this, especially after having to "pay to play" you kind of want the service to keep on going and after putting 80 bucks into that limited edition, the shut down of the servers is kind of insulting. Obviously the game is dated graphically, and sure the players will dwindle in number (I'm not sure what the player count would have been like in the past few years) but come on...maybe release it as a free to play game?

I never played SWG but my only question is how did they stop the game? Was there some awesome event at the end or did the servers just go down? I play (or have played) Lord of the Rings Online and hope that when they shut that down the ring will be destroyed and you'll be able to fight at the gates of Mordor, see Sauron fall etc.
I have no idea if you're right or wrong about the main servers, but my comment wasn't about them, but the game as a whole, which is still running and will continue to run for the foreseeable future.

I still have sealed beta disks for this... yeah, so old, it still used disk based distribution for beta... and their 3 disk beta pack was prone to failure, so they would ship a couple of packs per tester... I don't know why I still have them...
