  • WOW!! I remember back in the 3rd grade they filmed a segment at my school for the show. They don't make shows like this anymore. Kids nowadays don't know what there missing

  • EVERYTHING from 'back then' was memorable. to a greater degree these shows had depth that the programs today will never have. how many programs about cops, laywers, the snobishly wealthy can you watch?

furthermore, which one of those programs will you be talking about in your 70's?

i love this era, it will always have permanence in my life.

  • Seriously, we had so much good television that taught you things in the 80's. What happened to it? Why don't they remake this kind of stuff instead of the nonsense that is out today.

  • holy moly, this brings back memories

  • Another great, educational kids show from my childhood...yes those days of being entertained and educated are long gone.

  • Aren't the kids who watched and loved programs like this, the adults that produce today's children's programming? Why can't they make similar shows today?

  • @jln55 Because it's not about learning anymore it's about "how can we make money selling toys and other products"

  • @jln55

or these adults fried their brains in HS or as many people I know in their 30's still act l;ike they are in HS

  • One of my favs as a kid- edutainment!

  • I have no idea why the network morons have never released this show to the public to watch on video or DVD. Best show I ever watched growing up - kids today could really benefit from this!

  • Do you have a video 3-2-1 of a gymnast? Which episode?

  • I was looking for a particular segment and found that so e clips are available as "3-2-1 Contact Classroom", but it is $25 per 15 minute episode- at least at the site I saw. The teacher's guide does clearly identify the scenes, especially for those of us who remember the show and might be looking for something particular.

  • Mark seemed cool. The kind of guy you would like to have a beer with

  • I really want to buy copies of these episodes for my kids or view them through Netflix, but they are not available ANYWHERE!

To the original producers of 3-2-1 Contact: PLEASE release this show to the public for purchase or viewing..

Samuel Y. Gibbon, Jr. - original creator, original executive producer

Dr. Edward G. Atkins - science content

    Al Hyslop - executive producer

    Ozzie Alfonso - director

Please contact me if you know when this show will ever become available again.

  • Watching this show EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL is what gave me a foundation to answer 80% of ALL of my science test questions/homework assignments from 7th grade all the way through 12th grade... I MEAN it... and because they ran the episodes over and over throughout the years, there was constant memory re-enforcement...

  • Would you happen to know where I could find an old episode or segment from 321 contact that was about weight and measure? It had the Bigfoot monster truck in it.

  • @fastj14 Its on here somewhere I think

  • Contact is the answer.......is the reason.....why everything happens.

  • Wow I had the biggest crush on Trini. Now I have no idea why.

  • @hoouwit1

Well, Lisa is that much hotter.

  • @uktransplantedyank Yeah, she looks like a 70s porn actress.

  • @uktransplantedyank I agree. Lisa would be this first more likely to take her top off and party.

  • my goodness thank you SOOOO much for uploading this. I use to come home from school 3rd grade and watch this.

  • 321 Contact Square One TV Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego Sesame Street (Before this Elmo crap) Bill Nye The Science Guy Reading Rainbow The Electric Company The Magic School Bus Cyberchase Mr. Wizard School House Rock Arthur Doug Word Girl If everyone just watched these shows as a kid, then the world would be a smarter better place.
  • i used to have such a crush on lisa!!! man she used to make me run home from school just to see her!!!

  • My dopamine receptors were getting all tingly in anticipation of each next shot in the sequence. Since I knew what was next, the reward was a payoff each time. Awesome.

  • This intro is badass, they need to make remix.

  • Totally loved this show. OMG. Why don't they make shows and kids like this anymore. I get why not the clothes, but joking aside these were quality programs that everyone in the family enjoyed and could learn really great things. Thank God I was a part of the last generation that benfitted from great American television and educaton programs.

  • Man, I don't regret being in this era AT ALL!

  • I used to absorb this show, just as like How it's made now.

  • im not gonna lie that male gymnast at the beginning was pretty hardcore :/

  • This was my favorite show as a child.. I learned more from this than I did in school! Bring it back!!

  • HI i'm dan, do you know how to "be like the 80s?"

  • Nostalgia overload! Now to go and find the intros for Zoobilee Zoo!

  • wow I havent seen this in over 14 Years!

Damn I forget what this show was about but seein the opening theme and hearing the music Reminded me somethin about education.

  • Trina needed to be kissed all over her body !

  • Don't forget Lisa!

  • @mwillblade Trina is probably a Cougar now

  • Our teacher would have us watching this every morning.

  • i loved this show.

  • whatever bitch

the only thing you can do is your mom

  • Comment removed

  • This was a great show like reading rainbow!

  • I was quite impressed with the opening of "3-2-1 Contact" from the 1979-1980 Era. Mark, Trinie, and Lisa were three of a kind from that era. The first person did well on the show. The latter two people did a brilliant job on the show. These two young ladies were absolute foxes in my book ... even I did not understand anything about young lady being known as a fox during the time. A Brilliant 6!!

  • I loved this show. I hope full eps are on so I can share with my kids.

  • omg im going to have a remember the times section on my page!!!

  • Wow. The times have changed. An era where you learned useful information while being entertained at the same time. I miss those days.

  • @godsgiftoflove75 Do they even allow learning in today's children's programs? Or do they just prefer to "dumb everything down" these days?

  • Mark! Trina! Lisa! I miss you guys so much!! It's been way too long. Contact really is the answer! I'm 29 and I totally forgot what I knew back when I was seven.

  • this makes me so happy. who would have thought science could be so cool--at least when I was 7!

  • totally forgot about this.. wow flashback trip

  • Funkiest TV theme song ever.

  • awesome show!!!!! treenny had an awesome ass on magnum pi.

  • hahaha I remember this show

  • headline news ripped off the music this show

  • who wouldn't give this 5 stars

  • i wonder what happened to all these people?

  • it is better

  • Yes much of today's programming is garbage and does not induce creative thinking and wonder. I am grateful we can still see the wonderful programming of the past via you tube. Today's youth does not know what it isn't getting.

  • ditto

  • yea im with u on that 1

  • Ahhhh! Thats who Kari Byron reminds me of.. Lisa from 321 Contact!!

  • This show ruled when I was a kid...3.2.1.....CONTACT

  • I'd line up to buy a complete, unedited, uncut boxed set (even on Blu-Ray!) of the first season in an instant! Peace.

  • Right there with ya!!

  • WOW, it brings so much memories.

  • Ha Lisa was my first crush!

  • I have to agree, all the shows they play now can NEVER compare to the shows of yesteryear such as this and others

  • WOW- you've got the intro w/ the original cast- waaaay cool! This was by far my favorite show as a kid... I still remember how certain things "work" because of the lessons taught in this show... =)

  • I used to watch this on channel 40 in Tucson AZ when I was about 6 yrs old...

  • back in the 70's and early to mid 80's some people really tried hard and developing people co-existing and building stronger, loving, and smarter kids. Then it all feel apart with Teletubbies and that type of garbage.

  • i agree but i think it all started with that stupid purple dinosaur called barney.

  • I agree. The entire nation is in the toliet now. They broke down color and education barriers, now its Clifford the Big Red Dog and other uneducational nonsense.

  • All that uneducational nonsense came about because of the expansion of cable and pay television. When children have more choices, it's a struggle to get them interested in educational TV versus SpongeBob. PBS and the Children's Television Workshop broke a lot of ground back then. Unfortunately, there just isn't the same enthusiasm by parents to encourage their children to learn. Look at the decline in young adults entering into scientific career paths...

  • its a sad state of affairs, I love all that I learned back then and now as a 29 year old adult I really appreciate it. I used to get the 321 contact magazines and loved the facts and challenges they had, where did the world go to?

  • Thanks so much for this - I haven't heard that title theme for more than 20 years, but it randomly pops into my head sometimes, and I've been meaning to try to track it down for ages.

I could only remember the word "contact" and the "3-2-1" part, but that was enough to lead me here!

  • they had such good shows back then

  • Man I loved these CTW shows. What happened. How did Clifford and Sagwa replace these amazing science bassed programs!

  • "3.. 2... 1... (HIT THE RYTHMIC PIANO!) CONTACT! How dope is this theme! Mankind has yet to surpass it.

  • Likely it never will. This was the zenith of humanity.

  • Holy lord I loved this show.

  • I watched "Classroom Contact" in second grade (that was the schools-only version).

  • holy crap I used to watch this every night during dinner.

  • geeze i was 9 when i last seen this show, now im 22 and i remember it! Good learnning kids need now! I agree that Dora and all that jazz now on, is stupid!

  • Trini was so incredibly hot.

  • I agree--I wish this show was on still. I would just watch it to see her and Lisa together.

  • I had the biggest crush on her, too. There are few things hotter than a cute girl talking about science. Great memories

  • lol! Wholeheartedly agree my friend. This show was golden.

  • I only wish they were more segments of this show on YouTube. I seem to recall the girl "Trini" was on another show but i don't think it was on PBS, but i do recall the name: "Watch Your Mouth". It was a drama about an inner city high school. Anyone recall?

  • "The Warriors"

  • Screw Dora and Barney....... these are the shows right here!!!!

  • i have to just agree with you 100%. these shows now just have no character. it's amazing that people have jobs meeting and creating that mess. i mean there were meaningless shows then, but at least it had character. you wake up 5-6am in the morning on saturdays now...and...nothing. :(

  • The thing before it shows the hammer hitting the alarm clock bell, is the inside of a wind-up wrist watch, as you can see, the expandable metal watch strap on the far right of the device. WEEEEEE!!!

  • Forgot one:

Right before the kitten being petted is a baby's hand being touched by someone's hand.

  • Anyone know this last object because I cannot tell what it is.

It's shown right after the hammer hitting the bell, and right before the trampoline, what is that?

Looks to be the inner workings of a piano.

Maybe piano keys being played on a grand piano??

Anyone know what it is for sure?

  • The thing before it shows the hammer hitting the alarm clock bell, is the inside of a wind-up wrist watch, as you can see, the expandable metal watch strap on the far right of the device.

  • How about at :45-:55?? Anyone know what that thing might be in the opening vid?

  • The thing before it shows the hammer hitting the alarm clock bell, is the inside of a wind-up wrist watch, as you can see, the expandable metal watch strap on the far right of the device. WEEEEEE!!!

  • Then an apple being sliced, a girl whispering, a kitten being petted.

A trampoline being jumped on, rocket taking off. An astronaut in space.

  • A match being lit, bubble being blown, paper being cut, a baby being kissed, light bulb being lit, eggs being fried, frog catching a fly.

In other words different things coming in contact or making contact.

  • Oh my gosh I remember seeing this in grade school science. Might have also been high school too but this is an awesome show

  • Right before the frog, is that a nail gun?

I wonder how old that baby in the opening sequence is now!?

  • wow, happy, you REALLY like this show. I am guessing that you could calculate the baby's age as 28 to 30, depending on when this was filmed.

  • You got that right. I only enjoy the 1st Season the most though.

Yeah- I posted lots of comments, but aren't we all inquizitive about this kind of stuff?

  • Not a nail gun. It was a needle being placed on a vinyl record.

  • Thank you for clearing that up.

  • It's a record needle. As in a vinyl LP's? You do remember those, don't ya? hahaha

  • Sure do. I can't believe I still have a record player.

  • Did anyone else want a bite of that red juicy apple shown in the opening like me??

How about that kitten?? Makes one want to rush out and buy a kitty cat.

How about that frog? How in the world did they film that frog catching a bug?

Or a better question is, where did all that various footage of everyday objects making contact, and people coming into contact with things come from?

  • wow, didn't remember how discofied that was!

  • Do you remember the spy show the 'Bloodhound Gang'?

  • Whenever thers trouble, were on the double, were the bloodhound gang. lol!

  • How about posting on here a 321 Contact/Electric Company mashup?

  • Why didn't the trio of these perfect hosts use their real names??

Trini, Lisa, and Mark are NOT their actual names, but of their characters names.

If any of us here met one of these cast members in real life(who are no doubt married now!), we might in fact call them by their names on the show which are Lisa, Mark, and Trini.

Not realy being picky, but just curious.

  • Oh god, the memories!

  • man this goes way back, I remember watch this crap when I was a kid. And then they had a later revised show with a black kid and an asian kid. The asian kid I had a school boy crush on, she was chick, and no I dont have a crush anymore.

  • Trini was in "THE WARRIORS". She was the girl behind the counter at the candy store!

  • I miss this show, it was uber cool. I used to get the magazines.

  • Oh Triny was so hot.. reminds me of my middle school social studies teacher... i wanted her so bad..

  • Trini was definately gorgeous and Lisa.

  • You wanted Trini so bad, or your social studies teacher??!

  • i remember this !!! i used to love this,,

  • Wow I remember this lol

  • So what is everyone's favorite 3-2-1 theme? This one, the 1980 version. The 83-86 version, or the 87-88 version?

  • this one.

  • omg!!!!!!!!!!! Kindergarden memoriess!!!

  • We were so much happier back then and didn't even know it

  • So true.

  • I wish the great shows like this and others from the 80's were still on tv. Brings back great memories. Would love to see all these shows again.

  • quite right! This not only entertained, but was actually an educational show. It would be nice if a channel like Discover would bring it back and actually give it a real budget to work with.

  • LOL damn memories.

  • I thought I was going nuts.. I could have sworn there was a show called 321 Contact. And the song also played in my head forever. I'm glad I'm not crazy. Thank god for Youtube!

  • LOL

  • Yes that song will not go away... ever I have been singing it for 20 years

  • I was too young for this show but i totally remember the song because it would come on after my 'kid' shows and i knew that it was time for the tv to go off! I like the song though!

  • Fuckin "acid" flash back!

  • This theme song is burned into my brain. I'll bet I haven't seen this show since I was about 9, and I still remember how it goes.

    C'est la 80's.

  • OMg. This song has been echoing in my head for 20+ years! Catchy catchy. And cool educational science stuff.

  • This show was the sh*t back in the day. Kids today are missing good programming such as this one.

  • Ah, yes, PBS-Disco. Excellent :).

  • Teacher would play this for us at school...those were the days

  • Remember the episode on how they should the behind the scenes production of a KISS Concert??!!!

  • Oh, do I ever... That was an obvious favorite, I also liked the liquid nitrogen bit where they needed it for an IR camera AND to freeze a rose or a rubber ball that then shattered.

  • This was "my show" when I was a kid. I got to watch it before my sister and brother got to watch anything! I loved this!!

  • This show paved the way for BNSG & other kids Science shows. CONCACT FTW!!!!!

  • Proper Spelling ftw!!!

  • If PBS would put the old CTW shows like this on DVD, they'd make a mint during their next fundraiser.

  • That cat was cool!!!!!!!!

  • No. That cat had a terrible history of borrowing money and never paying it back. He better hope I dont catch him on the street.

  • Determined or not, that frog must be long dead.

  • The frog aint dead but the owl is. And dead owls dont give a hoot. Ha!

  • Oh nostalgia!

  • This was my FAVORITE since show as a kid!!

  • My god, I haven't heard that song since I was a little kid. I remember one episode where someone was running a lathe, and I made my dad show me how to run his right afterwards. That was the best show.

  • I have not seen this intro or heard this song since I was about 3 or 4 (1979-80). I became a child once AGAIN!!! Thanks for posting one of the best childrens' shows of ALL time!

  • Out of all the old shows I could think of , I seriously thought nobody would remember this one.

I fucking loved this show !!!

  • it's been 25 years and that song still gets me so fired up, they're like, " do you want know how to stand on your fingers?" and i'm like, "hell fuckin yeah i want to know how to stand on my fingers!!" as i shake my ass to that funky disco beat...

  • WOW I have not seen this since I was in 1s grade :)

I miss the simple times of the early 80s :(

  • I'm 99% sure this was the show that had an animated short showing a kid sitting on a ledge watching the earth evolve before his eyes... days turn into seconds, years turn into days... something like that. If anyone remembers this and has a clip or a link, I would appreciate it.

  • Is it just me, or does PBS not know how to come out with cool kids' shows anymore? I'm a mom now & grew up with these 80's shows. I don't know what to watch on PBS with my daughter. It's just lame these days.

  • Wow.. it's amazing how I can just travel back in time by watching these classic videos on youtube!

  • This brings so much back to me! I loved this show!!

  • It's strangely sad to look back at this show and realize how influential it was. That is sad because the number of these moments may stop.

  • Hearing this song 3-2-1- contact makes me sad.

    I don't know why...

I used to watch this show when I was a kid though.

  • The great space coaster...

  • Oh...those were the days. I can still remember coming home from school and running in the house to watch this! Oh what it was to be a product of the 80's!

  • What was the deal w/ the set... was it a school, did they live in some kind of group home? lol The set was a mix between an educational institution and a home.

  • does this ever come on again like re-runs

  • Had a crush on Trini when I was 9 or 10!

  • How any Trini's do you see anyways? (other than the old school yellow power ranger)

  • Trini? I had a major crush on Lisa. She's way cuter.

  • Brings me back to my childhood in the late 70s and early 80s

  • WoW those were the days

  • classic

  • I used to think the intro to this show was so cool, good effects, etc. Wow. I wonder what they will be able to do 20 years from now? Probably project into your living room!

  • lame!
