With a good 1 " scope (not a bb gun scope) a stock 10/22 can group at around 3 inches at 100 yards, and you put a match barrel on it, and it will group at 1 inch at 100 yards. At 35 yards, I can typically hit the primer in a 12 ga round.
scope vs red dot would be more accurate title, a .22 at that close of range comes down to accuracy of the optics you are using, for a real test, try using open sights or equal optics
wow, im sorry guys but yall suck, what you shooting at 30 yards max?? thats very poor shooting, i could out shoot both of you, and i also shoot the mossberg 702 plinkster. just do yourself a vavor and remove this video, but i do give you credit for showing that a cheap gun could out perform higher priced guns. ive also done this. lol.....
i would get teh 702. why spend more money on a ruger 10/22 just because eveyrone has one and they are 'customizable'. that's not always good because that just means you're bound to spend ridiculous amounts of money on... a .22 haha. as fun as 10/22's can be, i'd rather use that money on bigger and better things. 22's are just...22's.
@pinkstickynote1 That's exactly why people spend money on them. They are extremely fun and cheap to shoot. Why not spend money on the gun you use the most and enjoy shooting the most. Plus it's great practice.
i have both the mossberg has its merrits but with the lack of hi cap mags, stock options, and rail options. the 10/22 wins overall. the 10/22 is just as customizable as any ar you can pick up
@aBBlade1 I have the 702 and just recieved my high cap mag for it the other day. It worked out perfectly no jams (made by mossberg for 702) and it also gives it a custom look with the large 25 round magazine. I also ordered a barska 4x32 scope thats coming in from amazon.com so i think the mossberg would go for the win. I've had a scope on it before and could eat the center of a target out all day long. I will also be adding a sling here for it shortly but haven't came to conclusion on that.
HHmm let me see now one has red dot the other has a scope, one is fired free standing while the other is with a brace uh yeah real good comparison. yipes
the guy with the glasses and black beenie is just a worse shot. And the ruger does not have a scope, it has a reflex sight. This was not a well controlled test. I happen to own a Mossberg 702 and it has much better accuracy at much further distances. You can both obviously hit the target though, so its not a total waste.
@shaynes21 10/22 is good but not by a long shot the best 22 ever made.trigger sucks, and its not nearly as accurate as the 702.not to mention the marlin model 60 is acctually the most popular 22 ever made
@MrGuitarthrasher Its like putting a spoiler on a fiat 500 its fucking pointless, the AR's are military grade weapons so are designed to fit that stuff
@kenny01622 I would agree with you, BUT on firearms such as this 10/22 the tactical gear is usually plastic instead of metal unlike the AR, and there actually is a practical reason for having it on a 22lr suck as mounting flashlights, optics, or even lasers, So to say it looks "gay" is a matter of opinion but i would rather have a highly functioning piece of equipment that may look bad over a pretty one that does't function any day.
i love mossberg. I GOT A FIREARMS REVIEW OF MOST OF MY WEAPONS ON MY PAGE. PRETTY BADASS. but dude??? that 10-22 is SICK AS FUCK!!! nooooo recoil that i saw whatsoever.. awesome video. fuck those 4 haters. do what you do man...good shit..
OOPS! Just saw 2 guys wearing black. Sorry but I just noticed you both shot each others gun. But a bench/tree stump/log pile, any solid helps to steady more than a mono pod. I hunt with a bipod from a sitting position to get as steady as I can. I use the same method to target shoot. Either way, 22's are just plain fun to shoot. Thanks again for the video.
I liked the video but, to be fair to both rifles, they should both be shot from a bench and by the same person. There's no way two different people can shoot two different rifles the same. I'd like to see a video of both rifles being shot by both shooters to give a better comparison. You would see who is the better shooter too. ;) Thanks for the video.
Was looking for a good video on the mossberg 22. Glad I found yours, great video! First time viewing your video and I just found out you've passed on. RIP Brian just wanted to let you know... Your video's are still helping people like me.
Love the 10/22 but For the price you could easily get both for less then $300 why choose when you could get both. I Think that I am going to either get A Mossberg 702 or a Remington 597
you both used a shooting stick with the mossy and free hand with the ruger....wonder why you think the ruger is not as accurate?? use the sticks for both and then you will have a reall test on these two
RIP Brian - sad to know we have lost another good person
even though your friends got a souped up 10/22 your shootin off a rest...which by the way looks fun, lol, I ahve seen them before, but never woned one, looks effective
@bigguy25 it's a shooters edge red dot, it was 80 at a local army navy store, I like it exact for that it's only a 1x magnification...which nay he why it is on the down side of accuracy
Thanks & good guidelines... Recently decided to "get back into" shooting.
