Did some searchin on that PC build...some stuff is already absolete, like the motherboard, but rough estimation on cost for that build..not counting a monitor...$1400..I'm looking to do the same but I need a great replacement board for that processor and all that memory...any ideas? I've been eye'n the Zotac GF6100-F-E board but there's only 2 slots for RAM.
@katpuz01 I love how people like to bag on noobs. Even if you've built one hundred computers, at SOME POINT you built your first, too. Get off your high horse and don't forget where you came from!
shoulda been at least a core i7 860, DDR3 is cheaper or the same as DDR2 nowadays (even when this video was made), a P55 motherboard anywhre from Gigabyte to EVGA is not really expensive compared to X58 motherboards, and im an nvidia guy too, but a 5850 wouldve been more acceptable here (until the 460 came out)
no offense simracing but you need to read up more in building computers cause for that guy with 15 years you can do a much better job man Ive seen little kids who did a better job than you guys.
hey guys i really like the way u work! how long do we have 2 wait 4 a new SBK-X review? u should get the game be4 it comes out....so what r u waiting 4?! make us happy!
this has become abit crazy now, people seem to use computers for Games these days and yes it's a expensive thing too, i don't see the point Paying out 2000 pounds to play a Game i really don't see the point, some of the cases cost of much has a console really crazy people these days everyone meant crazy Buying 3000 pounds systems too play Crysis WTF some people fucking crazy
I've noticed that Supra GT500 in top simcar has rFactor icon instead of GTR2. I've been looking for that mod on RFC for a while... :P Anyhow, I love watching this show!!
I just built a media pc and used a zotac video card. I am a fan. I am not so much a fan of water cool systems. They look cool and are fun at first, but in my experience, the pumps only last about a year or so.
I miss Dragon Range, I've kept my PS2 just for Enthusia. I really wish it could be ported to PC, the gorgeous models are such a waste in SD. Best console Sim of all time.
Classiest lineup of any sim ever too, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA is worth it alone. Not to mention the 3.0 CSL , 2002 turbo, Hakosuka, and even a goddamn Citroen DS.
Ha Enthusia, that brings back some memories :) It certainly was realistic for its time and the reward system was unique. Cant help but also remember the speedo which updates about twice a second tho
I think you might have forgotten the 2-pin HDMI-AUDIO connector from the graphics card to the motherboard SPDIF connector. Just in case you'd ever want to use HDMI audio output :)
Dammit, can't post links. Anyway, do a google image search for "corsair 800d case" and browse through to see how cable routing is supposed to be done lol.
LOL way to make an absolute dogbowl of cable routing in a case specifically designed to allow you to hide all the cables. I especially liked how the front panel cables were inserted through the top hole and draped directly across the largest heat generating device in the system.
Great show again guys! Love the DIY PC part. Just when I think you guys cover everything in sim racing you pull out another exciting one. Thanks again!!!
We just finished running a 12 week season of Cart Factor and it was awesome. I'm glad you guys reviewed the car because you confirmed my opinion that it's the coolest thing I've ever raced.
Awesome guys, However I was really excited to see a demanding game playing at the end. Like hooking it upto your huge TV and whacking Crysis or something on. Ive been seriously thinking of building my own coz for 2-3 year ive needed a GFX card and more ram and that was all, Now ive just got that when I run that game tester " Can U Run it " on the newest titles its saying my dam dual core is too slow, lol. I carnt win. Excellent show tho guys keep it up !
Also, the round rubber grommets that Shaun and Jessica used to route cable was meant for water cooling tubes, the rubber gromments on the motherboard tray was meant for the cables they were using.
Instead of saying "You don't have to over tighten anything" he should have said "Do NOT over tighten anything" Overtighting can cause a lot of problems including grounding the motherboard out.
When setting the heatsink on the CPU, you want to put it on as level as possible, do not sit it, and lift it off, sit it and lift it off, this can cause air to get trapped in the thermal compound and actually cause your CPU to run hotter. Than it would if you had set it and left it.
Small recomendation, ditch that watercooler for a real one. the sefcontained sealed systems tend to not work that well if you want to overclock at all. Main issue is lack of flow, tubes are too small. There are a lot of tests of that sytem online. It performs better than air, but a lot lower than a full cooling system.
are you guys serious to tell poeple that rFactor mod cars have good physics? c'mon! that tire model at rFactor is just shiat! ISI must pay you guys some bucks, lol.
Sorry, but there are at least 10 mods better than the Formula Amaroli car (physics/handling wise). The CART mod is one of them. The Amaroli car has terrible wooden tires, heck I was having a wheelspin at 250 km/h, lol.
I honestly can not believe the mess they made of that cable routing. I will post pictures of My Corsair Obsidian H50 on their forum showing what it should look like when its finished
Traditional PC building starts organized and ends up with opened boxes and all the protective styrofoam, bubble foil etc. and all the content except the actual hardware lying around the room in a random scatter. :D
Great show as always! As for racing games I'd like you to cover, recommend you do quick reviews of the old school legends. Maybe (1) where/how they fit into the evolution of racing games, and (2) how they compare to more modern sims in terms of physics, handling, models, and tracks. Games like F1GP (World Circuit), NFS 1, Mobil 1 Rally Championship, CMR 2, Viper Racing, GPL, SCGT, NFS Porsche Unleashed. It's nice to know where it all began!
make the episode into small videos so that they are more videos more often... and what is a good setup for the xbox 360...the best wheel with clutch and all price is no matter
@simracingtonight thanks i really appreciate you guys for replying...and the seperate channel idea sounds great i support that %100 thanks guys keep it up :)
@SpeedFreakNO you can't play PS2 games on a PS3. Only the very first PS3's manufactured are backwards compatible. If you buy a new one you won't be able to play PS2 games.
Assembling PC is REALLY easy task really, there is no soldering etc. it is like putting pieces where they fit.(Except the case buttons)
But it is better to assmble the CPU heatsink before putting the motherboard to the case, commonly it is done on the motherboard cardboard box. This applies especially for Intel sockets as they have these push lock mechanisms, which could snap the motherboard if pressed on the spacers(correct term)

Man. I really wish that there was a Enthusia 2. Enthusia was the hardest racing game I played offline. The AI is freakin hard to beat when your odds to win are low and they are not like in GT4 (comparing old with old) where they basicly follow the same path, they actually gonna try hard to pass you.
guys I love old games, I still have and enjoy it the best Colin Mcrae Rally 2.0 it is the best hands down rally game ever,
plus all of the Colin Mcrae after that I cannot get the pedals to work properly the throotle and brake is all screwed up with G25 , CM2.0 is fine tho, and CM 2 has awesome physics
The PSU power switch is a cracker. I always forget it after assembling £1000 worth of new bits. "Oh shit, it's not working!! Oops, forgot to turn it on. Phew!"
