This ship stole my heart. The sister ship was by a Vietnamese intern bombed beyond commission in the Indian Ocean. Sir Admiral Somerville was unable to purchase Marconi radars or the current European Multipurpose Phased Array Radar (EMPAR). The Broadsword class and the Duke classes should be equipped as such.
@mayhem001boats This is what Rodney/Nelson should have been, had it not been for the fact the UK was skint, then came along the Washington treaty and plans were scrapped. Sweet model. I have only seen drawings before
Actually, that WOULD have been Rodney or Nelson. But the Washington Naval Treaty of the early 1920's prohibited that ship from being built. They were too big and exceeded treaty limitations. So they were re-designed slightly smaller and Rodney/Nelson came about.

Very Beautiful Model BTW
One of my fav never built warships.
Bismarck would have had no chance against this thing.
This model was very tricky for some hobbyists because this ship was often depicted with an External armor belt in some models and drawings.
The official design had an Internal Belt.

G3 was to be the battlecruiser, N3 was to be the battleship.
Very nice work with the model.

Thank god she was never made-would have been one of the ugliest battleships ever if made-almost as bad as the Russian battleships of the great wars.
The hull looks nice but the super structure is not that appealing.
Impressive model for sure-well done.

Looks dont really count for anything, look what happened to the Hood!
Wonder what Lutjens would have got on if one of these was with the Hood that day?

I Think thats the Rodney or HMS NElson

You may think that... but the sign, nameplate and builder all say it's the proposed but never built (or named) HMS ANSON.

Very impressive. I've only ever seen the concept pictures of the G3 class.
