How to make your DROID USB Connectable

my phones not getting that mount option at all it only charges it without being able to do anything else.

I went to development --> applications --> checked all the boxes, but I still do not get anything to pop up on the notification bar. The only thing that happens is my computer gets a pop up that says "USB Device not recognizeable. What am I doing wrong? By the way I have a droid 3. Thanks!

@jteebagy The newer devices I am uncertain about, as the've started going off the built in internal memory and not the memory card. I do believe the Droid 3 offers that Motorola iCloud clone however, so that may work for you instead...

i have a htc wildfire and i dont get this notification at the top of my screen when i connect to my computer, I have fiddled aroud with the 'connect to pc' option in the settings and nothing is working. I have only had this phone about a month, it is not broken, I dont understand why it wont connect

@callmeleelee make sir you go into Settings -> Applications -> Development -> and check mark all the boxes. The main two are "Stay Awake" and "Enable USB Debugging"

once you do that, plug it in, drag down the notification bar-and select "USB Connected". Dependng on the version of Android you're running, the screen may look different. Either select USB Mass Storage or just click enable.

i connected my droid to my mac and clicked on the notification. it doesn't ask me to mount or make the noise. it just shows 4 options. motorola phone tools, windows media sync, memory card management and a none option. is it because im on a mac and it says windows? and nothing opens up on my mac either.

the droid only reads MP4 and 3gp formats (pretty standard for mobile devices). so that could be why

I have a Droid Eris I dont know how that changes anything, but everytime I put it in something pops up different. It says that There might be a problem with some of the files on this device. Than it says Scan and Fix ( Recommended). What do I do?

That's happened to me from time to time with both my Droids, and my Droid Eris, and my Blackberry Storm too. Just hit "Continue" or "Ignore" or whatever..and go about your merry way. Odds are there is a damaged file somewhere, and its just alerting you-no harm will be done.

im going to assume you meant RESET.

turn phone off

hold down volume down arrow, and send key.

while holding those buttons, hit the POWER button.

this will take you to the boot loader screen, and allow you to do a master reset.

or if you can access the menu on the phone, go to Setttings -> Security -> Factory Reset.

I am using Droid Eris on my MacBoom Pro, I found it easier to manually copy my files directly to the DCIM folder on phone's sd card using finder.

are you pulling down the notifications bar, and hitting USB Connected, then hitting MOUNT SD? It will come up with the drive if you dont-but it wont show anything in it. If you mount the SD Card, it will show up like a flash drive.

yeah, i've tried to mount it several times. For some reason the computer is not reading that the phone is connected, i think there is a connection problem with the phone so i'm gonna take it to verizon. Thanks for the help though

I'm having the same problem with my HTC Droid Eris! I've been trying for over a week to get it to work. I've tried downloading different drivers and using Windows media. Nothing. It appears to be a Windows 7 issue because it works on my laptop which runs on Windows Vista. Too bad my iTunes is not on my laptop.

to be honest, I don't. I would assume any audio would play via stereo bluetooth.

the only thing I can think of, is the car bluetooth is stereo, and the YouTube audio is Mono, and they're not mingling well-otherwise, I'm at a loss.

from my research, BW seems to update better, and provided more accurate weather.

if you dont already have one, they're pretty comparable in both features and price. Everything I've read says BW gives more accurate weather info though...I havent personally used WeatherWdiget though

it's an application you can download from the Android Market called Beautiful Widgets. It's a PAID app, it will run you about a dollar fifty-but its worth it because it comes with a ton of different widgets.
