I wish more people were aware of the fact that the Russians also invaded Poland in September 1939 along with the Germans and shipped tens of thousands of Poles off to concentration camps in Siberia and other parts of Russia where thousands of them died. This is an interesting and important video. I have read several stories of anti semitism in Poland,but I did not know that over 700 Poles were executed for sheltering Jews during WWll.

I am 74 and I remember as a child the generosity of Polish soldiers and airmen billeted near my home. They had lost everything, family, home, country. The two things they never lost, Faith in God, and a deep desire to throw Germany to the wolves. My generation British and German have fortunately grown closer, but it is futile to claim that the broad mass of the German population pre1944 were unaware of the murderous slaughter being done in their name by miltary gangsters.

Recently, a columnist for the Washington Post wrote an article which referred to "Polish concentratin camps" Thankfully, the Polish embassy replied to the Wash. Post with the answer that the "respected" columnist should have known:
