I can't tell whether it's Marco or Giuseppe who has the moustache, but it really doesn't work. They're meant to be the same age, yet this puts 20 years on the brother with it. Apart from that generally very good!
I don't doubt that they are, and that is the perfect age really, I'm just saying that with that almost ridiculous moustache, he looks 20 years older than his clean-shaven colleague. Without it, I'm sure they'd both look their age, which as I say, is the perfect age for the Palmieri brothers.
to oscarwp: I think you mean Casilda. She's my fave too.
Other impressions....
Duchess: superb voice. Duke funny. Alhambra commanding. Marco & Giuseppe able leads. Luiz, Gianetta, Tessa & chorus hold their own. Tessa startlingly pretty (incl great skin). Fine sets, good lighting, lovely costumes, engaging choreography.
I don't like all the distracting business going on behind the Duchess during her song. She is a very fine performer, and does not need any help selling the song.
The duchess has a wonderful voice, there is no doubt. The sound wasn't carrying as it should so you couldn't understand the words unless you were in the first couple rows, or unless you KNEW the words. Microphones would have helped considerably. If the actors didn't act while she was singing then few of the audience would have caught on to what she was singing about. And then it wouldn't have been so funny.
So traditionally staged G&S can be interesting if youdo it well. Well done! Great cast - particularly Don Alhambra. Shame I'm to far away to come and see it.
AWFUL! The wigs look like they were made from yard, costumes came from a yard sale!
Amatuer G&S is bad G&S!

Nice singing, but what an expressionless chorus.

I was just watching The Pleasures of the King. I know you weren't singing, but your facial expressions were hysterical!
