Hey, I’m a young artist, & I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my cover of Michael Bublé’s “You’re Nobody till Somebody Loves You.” Although I’m knowledgeable that Michael Bublé was not the first to record the song, my version was inspired by his rendition, nonetheless. I promise you that you will not regret giving my version of the song a listen, & it will truly knock you off of your feet! So please listen & enjoy! Thanks!
The name of the song you are looking for: "stum-steket stakke dum dum steady" - is I believe "Take Me Coco", which is found on their Adventures in Afropea 1 CD. You can listen to excerpts via Amazon.com. The other one I am not so sure about, as there are several songs that sound phonetically like what you described "Hi-ah-ah Hi aah". Hope the info is helpful. Blessings.
@MsPrincessaj Thank you! 'Take me coco' wasn't the "stum-steket-stakke-dum-dum-steady"-song I was looking for but instead it was the (whispered) 'hi ah-ah Hi-aaah'-song, I was trying to find!! :-) Looking into your other info. Much obliged. A tes souhaites! (like 'blessings', in zap mama-language)
@remembertoflosj that song is called Plekete, its from the album adventures in afropia, isnt zap mama awesome, they sang Plekete in an episode of sesame st once
@Marixpress2 I hope they close tent to keep stink inside........all of women in tent can make very smelly situation for what I want to do with them.....I want be involved in such situation.
Wow I'd forgotten how much I digged this song when I was a kid.. One of the things I really love about Youtube is being able to find old favorites again!
randomly thought of this woman a few days ago and was afraid i wasnt gonna be able to find the song i loved of hers because i didnt remember the name. i found it on the first click! :D
This song will live forever if no where else in my mind. I think it is too ignored. The vocal progressions and subtle dynamics are Amazing. i have no idea what the french parts are, but I feel it. I love it. I use to fall asleep to their music all 1am in the morning.
@tdottchickk Her father was from Zaire, and her mother is Belgian. He was killed in their civil war, at which time she was a little girl. Her mom and the kids escaped into the forest, and hid out for several weeks. That is where she gained her appreciation for the syncopated vocal harmonies and rhythms of the pygmies... who invented this type of singing.
@hyaenidae But she was raised since very young age in Brussels (Belgium), in the Matonge quarter (a semi-congolese/african quarter in the Ixelles part of Brussels) i believe.
@hyaenidae no her mother was from zaire(democratic republic of the congo) and her father was from brussels.but her father was killed and they left for brussels.
I love this song!! Zap mama is a breath a fresh cultured air. lol If anyone is/was fortunate enough to find the lyrics to this song, I would love you forever! Thanks Yall!
Zap Mama is great! I love them. I listen to them nearly every day. Can't you just tell how they love to make music? Every note matters in their sound. Lovely.
it's supposed to be Blue Monday according to British scientists LOL to me this video brightens every soul in every place, any time. thank you Gisa you shared it with me.
For the haters of her hip hop, if you listen to 7 and Super Moon, there are still elements of the acapella in all of her music. I love the original as well, but her growth is her art, and not to please everyone. She is truly unique.
@harrycarrieokie Much agreed. its such a shame that when phenomenally talented groups subject themselves to ghettoshitamerican music how they lose their talent.
J'aime bien ^-^
