  • men looking back at different youtube videos of nasl they had some good talented players

  • mls has controlled growth.

  • USA needs to step it up to compare with foreign soccer (futbol) players

  • The one thing the NASL got right that the MLS needs to address is the old shootout,I kinda the grew up with it,loved that Americians need a winner and a defeated team, ties are no good for the sport the NHL underdstands that also

  • @Airman241 with the nhl it works, with soccer it doesnt....well maybe after a goldengoal/silvergoal like the world cup has....

  • @wade2bosh I agree wiyh you on that do everythng to decide a victor then a shootout not a P/K shootout either

  • @Airman241

I think they should bring that up. They're too many ties in the MLS.

  • met alan a few times in seattle when i played select soocer- great advocate for Sounders and MLS- the league is getting better come see a game in seattle with sellout crowds and european atmosphere and it might change your mind!

  • Well, read between the lines. I think he's also not saying the MLS is as good as the NASL was quality-wise.

  • @BiffScooter1 Nasl had better players and better games but mls is only 15yrs old let them grow.

  • @Taywarit13 OK, let me see, Pele signed with the NASL in 1975 so it took the "NASL" about 8 years (( if we count the 1967 USA + NPSL leagues). It has been 15 years and counting (sorry, signing the world's most metrosexually injured one-footed midfielder in David Beckheadmandid not result in a Pele-like explosion of talent). So when exactly is the MLS going to reach watchable heights?

  • @BiffScooter1 they don't want to follow the nasl who send themself to the ground and went bankrupt. and plus nasl didnt have the sponsor and other supporters like the mls has today. people barely new what soccer was during those times..thats y spending so much then killed them.

  • Well said Alan. MLS is the future.

  • @dbexperience Well said? MLS is the future. Yeah, how profound. How insightful.
