  • I just took my LL1 and PT Tests. I got my Drill Test covered. The only thing I have to do is partake in an Activity and I will be eligible for Promotion to C/ AM (Airman)

Also to C/Col. Thats pretty cool. I heard it takes about 2 to 2 1/2 years to get to that rank.

  • in theory it takes 2 1/2 years but the only C/Col I know took 6 years to do it and I understand that that is on the low side of average, good luck with it though!

  • SHORTY POWERS COMPOSITE SQUADRON

  • My squadron wasn't serious, suffered from "fish rots at the head" syndrome. I couldn't stand it anymore and left after achieving C/Tech. Sergeant. I was well on my way to the Mitchell Award. I hope to impress upon ALL members to not "lose sight of the mission".

  • PAINE FIELD COMPOSITE SQDN

  • I spent 4 yrs in the CAP as a kid, attained the rank od Cadet Warrant Officer. IT was the greatest experience of my like, and I strongly encourage EVERY teen to try it!

  • I'm pretty sure there is no such grade as "Cadet Warrant Officer". Warrant Officer is a grade unique to the U.S. Army, we are the auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. I can refer you to CAPR 35-5 for correct grades. I do agree with you about CAP being a great experience, and I as well encourage every teen to join.

    C/SSgt Ponall

    GLR IL-251 Rockford Composite Squadron

  • There used to be what I thought was C/FO under an outdating system.

  • senior members have a warrant officer position

  • Senior member positions go as follows:

    2d Lt

    1st Lt

    Captain

    Major

    Lt Colonel

    Colonel

    Brigadier General

    Major General

We are the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Warrant officer is unique to the United States Army, Navy, and Coast Guard. I can only refer you to the CAPR 35-5 for correct grades.

  • Years ago (70s and 80s), there was a Cadet Warrant Officer grade in CAP. It was denoted by a single gold "pip" (identical in size & shape to the Cadet 2nd Lt., but in gold.)

Back then, there were also two flavors of Warrant Officer for senior members: The Warrant Officer grade (silver bar with one blue stripe) and Chief Warrant Officer (silver bar with two blue stripes). Back then, Warrant Officers were addressed as "Mister".

  • I looked in to this, and it turned out to be very enlightening. What was Warrant Officers back in the day are now FO, TFO, and SFO. Warrant Officers were phased out because there was no use for them. Thanks nightbeacons!

  • ahhh.. i see you saw the 'old school' rank! I knew it existed!

  • haha it looked like most the stuff was hawk mountain or pjoc, they have all the fun. lol the rest of us get to go on sar-ex's

  • what is the song in this video and where might i be able to find it to possibly put in in one of my CAP videos i will be making?

  • Its Adam's song by blink 182

And its lyrics are about somebody commiting suicide

  • well the maker of the video chose it for the drum beat, and he thought that the song the kid depicts could have benifited from CAP

  • To anyone who can help:

I would really like to join the CAP'S SAR team. Although I don't know how, what the team's requirements are, or what the team consists of. I have medical training and some SAR training, if that helps. My dad is a Firefighter/Paramedic with lots of SAR experience. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

  • you have to take the online test go through 3 SAREX's some CPR and Medical qualifications and ground team test I think I'm a little rusty at this look it up

  • I just got gtm3 certified but im in the MO wing so im not to sure on how u can but i loved moesa... SEMPER VIGILANS

  • Civil air patrol is an air force auxiliary for kids age 12-21. it's kinda like the military and it has basic training. there is also national activities like flight academy, you get to take a solo but you don't get your license. i have one video about an encampment that you only get to go once, well you get to fly in a ch-47, uh-60, and c-17 or a c-130 depending on the time or place. i encourage kids from the age of 12-21 to join.

  • and great job on filming and editing music is good for the vid

  • ok.ill look in to it,but it might interfere with my ice hockey, but i might join =]

  • do it you will not regret it if you are active in the program

    i know i dont

  • i doubt it. i have meeting only every thursday night. its cool you learn to be a respectfull person there

  • ok.i need help people. Should i join or should i not. give me some examples..and i might join Jack Schweikler in New Jersey-Cherryhill.please.

  • you got to join. CAP is one of the greatist things i have ever experianced it is awsome

  • It all depends what you like. CAP offers stuff for search and rescue, Aerospace (a great place to get involved with flight related stuff in you want to fly), and the cadet program as a whole is great for teaching leadership, as well as Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Volunteer Service (those are CAP's core values. You should visit a nearby Squadron for their meetings for two or three weeks and they'll tell you more. It won't hurt to try it.

  • Nice video. I went to a couple meetings, but it wasn't my thing. I ultimately became a Police Explorer, something I truly am passionate about.

  • This is probably one of the influencial CAP video ive seen so far.

Cadets who watch this please remember Civil Air Patrol is a very exciting program but i know you new people havent seen much yet but you will in due time.

  • I really want to be a pilot but i cant chose wether to do tis or have a priavte trainer, someone please help me on this decision thank you.

  • choose us we rock and save lives

    C/A1C loehnert

  • I say it's better to fly for a good cause over just flying to fly. Choosing us has it's benefits:

1.)You are trained by professionals and have oppertunities to fly all types of planes

2.)When applying for a job or college CAP shows up on your application and is one of those things people look for

    3.)Your helping your country

4.)Your only benefitting yourself by teaching yourself moral values.

  • We offer scholarships to get your liscences

  • thanks guys

  • great vid dude i love cap and this is one of the best videos

  • Ahh, I just plain love CAP. Best damn thing that ever did happen to me. A lot of the things I've learned in the leadership section have helped me concerning life in general, and the discipline will stay with me forever. And PT actually got me back in shape... [etc.]

  • "What do you do in civil air patrol?is it military school? " no Maxwazdog its not like military school. CAP teaches you about Aerospace and Leadership skills. You get to do activies that helps out the comminuty its an Air Force Auxilary. Its fun try it.

    C/A1C Young Falling out.

  • It was very good.

    C/MSgt Bernavich, Cody Cadet Squadron

  • Why Blink 182? Makes CAP cadets sound like they cant wait to get home and pass the time in their rooms alone.

Best part of my CAP experience was definitely Hawk Mountain.

  • im in c/staff seargent goff

  • What do you do in civil air patrol?is it military school?

  • well, its pretty much a AFJROTC only for middle-schoolers and high-schoolers. and you can do search and rescue, aerospace education, and cadet programs like honor guard and encampment. if anyone wants to join go to cap(dot)gov

  • orange hats = The home of the para rescuer course PA

  • Wrong, its hawk mountain

  • Hawk Mountain is where the Rangers train us for search & rescue

  • Holy crap I'm in this video. I'm in a few of the Blue Beret scenes....

  • adams song blink 182

  • Need a name of the song in this video. Were making a video and were planning to use the song from this video. Westover Composite all the way! w0ot!

  • adams song blink 182

  • any of you @ sun n fun 2nd bigest air show in da us

  • does anyone know the name of the song. Westover Composite Squadron all the way

  • i'm a cap cadet, but it is almost non-military. except for uniforms and marching, its nothing. Plus, my squadron has no discipline. If we actually had some discipline, cao would be the best

  • Then you need to transfer, because obviously your squadron does not represent was CAP is. That or you need to do something about changing it.

  • Then change it. It's not that hard.

  • It is discouraging to me to hear people talking bad about CAP/ Cadet Programs. If your SQ. has not discipline then make it happen. Stop this whining and get out there and make it better

    C/2LT

  • If I were you I would try to turn that around. How big is your Squadron?

  • heck yeah cap rules

cadet color guard rules go cap

  • I would like to 2nd that

  • Well, good video, except it makes it look like Civil Air Patrol does nothing but fly and walk around in Orange vests.

  • 4 years in CAP and still going amazing never would give it up. OCEAN COMPOSITE SQUADRON rock on !

  • Nice video but the suicidal music was a poor choice.

  • I've served in the military and i'm confused. CAP does homeland missions but your given the option to go on and become an air force officer?

  • No. CAP is in no way the military. The only connection with the military that CAP has is that it is the *civilian auxiliary of the US Air Force.

There are many CAP members who are ALSO in the military, but you cannot be in the military THROUGH CAP. CAP officers are not "real" military officers.

  • The military though recognizes CAP cadets who have acheived the Mitchel award. If a cadet has done that, he can enter the military as an E-3, has a way higher acceptence possibility from the military academies. CAP is a military prep, and those who have been through it, already know what their doing when they actually join the military.

  • The Airforce academy does accept a large % of former CAP cadets. CAPs cadet program is sortof a prep for military service. After acheiving a CAP officers commission, and choosing to enlist in the military, the cadet enters the military as an E-3 (SrA is the AF).

  • E-3 is actually Airman 1st Class in the Air Force, not Senior Airman. And the specifics on CAP Cadets in the USAFA - 10 percent of every graduating class as the academy is made up of current/former CAP Cadets.

    (BTW, I'm a CAP Cadet.)

  • My bad sry.

  • by far the best CAP video I've ever seen done.

  • HECK YES! CAP rules! what wing are you??

  • I am in Cap and it is awesome we get to dot things you dont get to do anywhere else!

  • I love being in CAP and this is one of the best CAP vids I've seen!

  • by far the best thing i ever did in my life was join CAP!

  • Im a member to and its what we live for, its the best thing I have ever done also, it gives you opportunities you will never find anywhere else. Katie ARUNDEL COMPOSTIE SQUADRON ALL THE WAY!

  • same here ima member and this is what we live for the aviation the search and rescue and drilling

  • That is just awesome! HURRAH!!

  • Hawk Mountain Ranger School...w00t
