hmmm...Nexus² can do much more. don t feel touched but i think you should invest some time in this hilarious piece of music creation tool. I mean, it´s Rompler, not a synth. Just try out some thinks and you will see, it sounds great.
I never used FL, just know it from later years. In this time it was behind the comparable software systems, but Fruity Loops did a lot, so it´s actually a good one. I prefer Ableton, but in my point of view Logic or Cubase are the must haves :)
i don't see why everyone hates on nexus. it only has a bad rap because of people who overuse it and have every sound they use come from nexus. i can make awesome sounds for hands up stuff with z3ta+, synth1, sylenth, etc.
and as for the people saying FL sucks, it really doesn't. as said before, it just gets a bad rap because there are a lot of people who suck who use FL. I manage to turn out things that have the same quality as non-FL users. its all about the plugins. ;D
Only trouble with Nexus is it costs the same as a top end hardware synth but with less fetures. Im guessing it costs that much because they prob had to pay licence fees to sample all those top end synthesizers. Nothing wrong with romplers they make a sound other types cant make its good to have all types such as Vanguard and Zebra.

In my opinion, Nexus is less versatile than vanguard. if you want decent sounding versatile plug-ins, I would suggest you look at "Predator" or "Albino". Nexus is for the most part a big sample library (rompler), as I said before, that is essentially what it does. Good for noobs, not as much for pros.

yeah agreed FL studio isnt ameture at all. its Just a DAW, you can add WHATEVER VST/ sound you want to it so it has just as much potential as any other program. problem is alot of ameteurs use it. thats why it has somewhat of a bad rep
@gareth186 Fl Studio is great for the step sequencer... and a great vst host really clean layout.. we moved to hardsynths (with a soft synth combo) but still use fl for its great layout :) but.. i must say if you want your music to get that full sound try tweaking each audio track in cubase or protools.... mess around with dif softwares music is a collage------ Mantis >(:D) - (If you get a chance check out our music

You are glad there is a Nexus 2 and you are glad there is Sylenth why not Buy and support the founder so they can come with alot more great stuff?? Support them man buy at least onces in a while some vsti so these can guy's can carry on their work. Otherwise its all gone for nothing and you having no great vsti to produce your music. Yeah, try using Cubase or Nuendo (it's even more stable) or Logic (I like it even better)... As for Nexus quality, it's wonderfull, it can pass out as being a real hard sinth in the right hands, eq and master and it's as fat as a beast... You'd be surprised to know how many good producers only use software...
NO successful DJ or producer, admits to using Fruityloops. YES its easy to use, so is all the Ejay software. Cubase handles Software synths AND realtime hardware synths a hell of a lot better than FL studio. i've been using Cakewalk software amungst others for 9 yrs, i dont doubt its capability its just a Re-wire for me used along side Cubase or Reason. Nexus CAN be extremely powerful no doubt but its still only a soft synth!
I have to agree and disagree with some of your points. Yes, maybe Cubase is better in handling hardware synth and just maybe some soft synths...but as far as my experience with that software goes, It's a lot easier for me to achieve greater results in FL rather than Cube. Some very simple tasks in Cube can be hard to achieve, that is at least for me. FL is a great software when it comes to virtual studios. If you dont have many synths at home or many hardware instruments your best bet is FL.
Yep your right, FL software is very good as an all in one. I mainly use Cubase cus i was taught on it. Only really used nexus and vanguard as rewire VST. FL studio is good for automating loops and creating trancey/techno sounds. Altho the ever so talented Soulja boy ceated his music on fruityloops i bet it wasnt the only program he used. But ofcourse this isnt the subject.
Nexus CAN be very powerfull and sound great. but hardware synths can have alot better controls :-)
Nexus is meh....Really nothing special, maybe it is but I don't make much Euro Trance and such so its not much use to me. But as for passing it as a hardware synth would be a crime. Nexus doesn't even come close to a quality of a hardware synth... I know, trust me. I own a Virus TI and the quality of that thing is much better as a stand alone. Spectrasonics Omnisphere is probably the only soft synth that can compare to an analog instrument. The rest are good but not pure.

I used an Alesis QS6.1 to create 3 albums worth of music (Used Reason and Rebirth for a little background every now and then, but still)This stuff can be fun for messing around tho, but yeah, not to be taken that seriously, unless you want to get technical and map a bunch of notes out, which is tedious and boring anyway.
i'm running nexus in orion and using it constantly, aside from all the trance/house/techno stuff there are tons of nice pads and sweet synths that soar

really fruity loops is THE BEST program for non-commercial instrumental tracks. its powerful and easy to use. stop criticizing it people... the users that create with it is usually for fun and its one of the best for that. sure its not logic or acid and the like but in those music makers nobody can assemble a good song in 10 minutes. i saw a tutorial by basshunter and the song he made was cool and he did it so quickly. it would take me 3x as long if i were to make it with acid but result better
It doesnt matter what software you use. If you have creativity and talent, what you use really shouldnt affect your sound. I have heard people make TRASH using Reason, and Reason is amazing. Fruity Loops is by far the easiest program to use. Its stable and pretty powerful. I recommend that if you use Fruity Loops, purchase and/or download some soft synth VST's and Download free drumkits from LimeWire. I would not use Fruity Loops Synths of Drums.
Creativity and talent is so true. More often than not when people are lacking in either of the two they will criticise the software if they churn out rubbish.

Avicii, Afrojack, Laidback Luke uses FL Studio and Nexus. Luke uses free compressor vsts.!

FL studio is good for automating loops and creating trancey/techno sounds. Altho the ever so talented Soulja boy ceated his music on fruityloops i bet it wasnt the only program he used. But ofcourse this isnt the subject.
Nexus CAN be very powerfull and sound great. but hardware synths can have alot better controls :-)

Nexus is meh....Really nothing special, maybe it is but I don't make much Euro Trance and such so its not much use to me. But as for passing it as a hardware synth would be a crime. Nexus doesn't even come close to a quality of a hardware synth... I know, trust me. I own a Virus TI and the quality of that thing is much better as a stand alone. Spectrasonics Omnisphere is probably the only soft synth that can compare to an analog instrument. The rest are good but not pure.

play around with the knobs
then click the very top drop down arrow and then go to last tweaked parameter and click on create automation clip.

I used an Alesis QS6.1 to create 3 albums worth of music (Used Reason and Rebirth for a little background every now and then, but still)This stuff can be fun for messing around tho, but yeah, not to be taken that seriously, unless you want to get technical and map a bunch of notes out, which is tedious and boring anyway.

really fruity loops is THE BEST program for non-commercial instrumental tracks. its powerful and easy to use. stop criticizing it people... the users that create with it is usually for fun and its one of the best for that. sure its not logic or acid and the like but in those music makers nobody can assemble a good song in 10 minutes. i saw a tutorial by basshunter and the song he made was cool and he did it so quickly. it would take me 3x as long if i were to make it with acid but result better

It doesnt matter what software you use. If you have creativity and talent, what you use really shouldnt affect your sound. I have heard people make TRASH using Reason, and Reason is amazing. Fruity Loops is by far the easiest program to use. Its stable and pretty powerful. I recommend that if you use Fruity Loops, purchase and/or download some soft synth VST's and Download free drumkits from LimeWire. I would not use Fruity Loops Synths of Drums.

reason is excellent for people who don't know exactly what they're doing because it's easy to pick up and pretty powerful
logic is pretty good with midi
cubase is good with midi as well
nuendo is meant for post production
pro tools is best for editing
