Peter Delapinia plays the Mele double-neck Tenor Uke

Beautiful! I'm planning to get a double-neck made for me next year. Currently I have an 8-string tenor ukulele (tuned a bit lower, E-A-C#-F#) and I play barre chords all the time. Most uke songs are in G (3-2-1-1) or C (3-3-3-1), both of which are barre chords on my uke. I make frequent use of my thumb over the top of the neck as well.

Ukuman; if you ever come to Hawaii, you'll see a LOT of professional uke players playing the tenor uke, both 4- and 8-string models (but very few playing bar chords!). They've been asking us for years to build this double-neck. So we did! Try a tenor with a low "G" sometime; you won't throw away your soprano, but it's a whole different color to paint with.
