  • did she say first u might be able to do 10 of these? u gotta be really fat if u can do only 10 thats almost like walking. and the key to get rid of knee pain is not just to strenghten your quads or calves, u gotta have balanced leg muscles, your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes everything has to be pretty balanced work on all parts of your legs, if u just do your quads your knee pain will just get worse.

  • This does help your knee, I did it in therapy and outside of therapy. Its best to do it carefully though, or it can hurt.

  • When you do the calf raise to your toes, you involuntarily squeeze your quads and all muscles surrounding and supporting the knee... so YES, this would aid in knee rehabilitation. it is a basic exercise, but an essential step in recovery... she might have wanted to accentuate the importance of squeezing the quads while finishing the rep but, still, good instruction

  • this will not help your knee problems, and the exercise isn't even effective unless you're really overweight and you're having diffivulties carrying your own bodymass.
