    Everyone Loves a Pika...

    Should be=

    Everyone Loves a Pikachu...

  • Pikachu :D

  • i will always love pikas

  • I can see how it's inspiration, it's so cute! :3

  • They aren't rodents; they're related to rabbits and hares.

  • I want one!!! *_*

  • actually they arent rodents, they are members of the rabbit family

  • here so cute im doing a project on them

  • At an undisclosed location a scientist is creating a pika that shoots lightning.

  • They are also endangered due to climate change. They will die in a few hours at temperature higher than 78º. They have been moving higher and higher in the mountains - but they will soon run out of habitat.

  • pika's aren't rodents. They are in the lagomorph family - which includes rabbits and hares. Although they look like hamsters, they are not related to hamsters or mice or any other rodent. Some of these pictures are not pika.

  • Yeah, some of these are obivously not pika.

Also, pikachu... "pika" is the sound effect for electricity in Japan, and "chu" is the sound effect for squeaking in Japan.

  • sum of the pics r chipmunks but it was still a good vid ^_^

  • i think the non-pika pics are columbian ground squirrels, correct me if im wrong

  • hmmmm, maybe im not sure....

  • some of these are actually squirrels

  • Pika...chu? well as an off topic referance i know what pikachu was based off now :P good video few mistakes with rodent mix-ups but good video.

  • Lagomorpha is an order separate from the order Rodentia. Pikas are definitely not rodents! Anyway they are still adorable--cute slideshow.

  • also called "coneys" or rock hares -

  • the inspiration from pikachu came from 2 things; the words "pika" (a spark or charge of electricity) and "chu" (the onomatopoeia of the squeaking noise a mouse makes) in japanese; and these animals.

  • 2:42 thats a guinea pig, but nevermind. :P

  • Lol, yes, I made bunches of mistakes, but at least everyone is learning they're small rodents :P

  • potc4ev, yes, except you said yourself in the video that they're lagomorphs XDD

(forgive me if lagomorphs are a type of rodent, I don't know much about lagomorphs at ALL)

  • pika strictly speaking are not rodents. they are cousins of rabbits

  • @potc4ev Actually they aren't rodents, they're lagomorphs.

  • That's really cool, and I'm not just saying that. =]

  • Did you know you've got a few photos of ground squirrels in there? Cute pics though.

  • Haha...no I didn't know that, but thanks for commenting!

  • pikachu's name might not be fully inspired by this, but the model certainly is.

  • Pikas have been announced endandered. D:

  • noooooooooooooooooooooo =(

  • pika pika : -)

  • lol YES!

  • Actually, Pikachu's name has nothing to do with these. It's a combination of "pika" which is the Japanese onomatopoeia for electricity, and "chuu" which is the Japanese sound for a mouse.

  • now see...THAT makes way more sense...thank you for your random intelligence in this field :D

  • lol thanks... what can i say? imma genius. I can copy/paste things from wikipedia! lol...

  • lol um well .....i would say no comment but this is a comment so um....yey wikipedia?

  • You added some Prairie Dogs in :P

  • SCORE! lol acutally that's an epic fail on my part =[

  • Did you know that I was the inspiration for Charizard?

  • umm idk

  • duh did u know a turtle is the inspiration for squirttle? bawawawawa did you know a rat was inspiration for rattata? roflmfao

  • yea i did acutally....lol sry to ruin your fun

  • u got a few gophers and chipmunks...

  • whoops:P

  • lol it ok THER CUTE ANYWAYS :D

  • yuppers

  • Heheheehe, I thought you ment pikachu!

  • ummm...im lost?

  • pika means pussy on icelandic

  • well umm ok...but this has nothing to do with that....

  • can we see the vedio

  • ? im sry what? that is the video

  • I thought pikachu came from the sound a rabbit and a mouse make in japanese. Pika is the sound a rabbit makes and chu is what mice say in Japan, instead of squeak like in English.

  • uh that's cool

  • It's a bunny! Sort of.

  • they're related to bunnys :D

  • Go Lagomorphs

  • yes!!! and if it wasn't for biology then i would have never known what they were or if they even existed!

  • How precious is that? I gotta have one.

  • lol that's what another one of my friends said.....he's gonna have his within a month. :P

  • Did you ever get a pika?

  • no lol
