Think about it...
in the 80's they put SO much work in the design, concept and character design and THIS show they crapped it out in just two minutes! There is absolutely no clever thought in this TV show. It's completely rushed over, even the animation is POOR! absolutely POOR. Instead of have intricate transformations, they just do a crazy Tasmanian devil whirly-bird thing and boom they're done.
They did the 'swirly' transformation once in the entire episode, the writing is comparable to Beast Wars for the better part of it, and the animation is fluid. Work? Into the 80's cartoon? As much as I love the show, it was still little more than a half hour toy commercial that was full of animation errors and lacked any real character development. It was above average for it's time, there's no denying that, but that doesn't make the new show any better or worse.
If it lacked character development and it was so poor why was it one of the biggest hits of the 80's and one of the most memorable cartoons of all time. Many americans know what Transformers are. For its time, it was revolutionary in animation. This one is just rushed, nothing with DETAIL. I think you need to rethink what you said.

To be honest, I can't even remember half the names of the G1 cast because there are so many of them and none of them get any real development outside of random one-liners. This new show isn't lacking detail, it's a new style. It's not SUPPOSED to look as 'detailed' as G1 was because it's not G1.

Wow seriously folks, I'm a rabid "G1 or nothing!" transformers fan, but I'm big enough to reallize that the show i watched as a kid 20 PLUS YEARS AGO isn't necessarily something kids are going to be interested in today. As far as it being more cartoony than the movie, of course it is! It's Transformers: Animated and it's geared towards kids so it's going to be cartoony and less gritty, and there are going to be differences because they're 2 totally different franchises.
So is Megatron really dead btw? I'm guessing he comes back in this new cartoon? Will we see other favorite chars come back? What about the Dinobots? I loved Grimlock.

I do not know what is going on with Cartoon Network recently but have you seen all of the shows comming in '08. It is looking like Nick or something. I think they even got one of their shows.
The drawing style stinks and the animation is awful. I first saw this sort of style in Batman, where it was done much better. I never loved it but I realise it suited Batman by trading complexity for ease of animation, where budget is limited. This wonky style is completely unsuited for drawing robots, in my opinion.

This "new" show sucks. I tried to watch it with an open mind. Instead I literally fell asleep trying to watch. For those of you out there that hated "Beast Machines" beware! The creator of that piece of schlock created this too!
I like this new show, even with all the changes they've made. Its a new and fresh twist on an old franchise thats been in dire need of new concepts and ideas in order to bring about a true series revival (Beast Wars was great, but Beast Machines ruined any chance of a continuation in the original timeline). i like the new blackarachnia and Blitzwing, as well as Megs and Screamer. I kinda resent that Optimus no longer has his rifle though...

I agree. I never seen much of the original Transformers, due to it was before my time, I grew up with BeastWars/Machines. When I heared they were making another new series, I hoped this one would be awesome, unlike that Transformeres:Energon/Armada or whatever else they have.

my father remembers the original autobots. apparently, optimus prime was also supposed to be an 18-wheeler, but they've turned him into an 18-wheeler fire truck. I'm actually glad they finally take the names of original transformers, such as bumblebee and ratchet, instead of only reviving prime and megatron

Cartoons in the 90s and back were hilarious and actually had humor (TMNT, Justice Leauge, pfft even scooby doo), now there filled with cheesy boringness.

i was tired of 3-D transformers and the few twists and turns. i never saw the original transformers, but i think the block bodies are too old.

I was floored the actually gave Megatron a gun on his arm. You know they could redo all the old episodes from the eighties with new animation that looks very similar to the original, and it would be a hit!!!! What is hasbro worried about, they would even have to hire writers;they already have the scripts and the ideas to work from. They need to do some major soul searching over there with both there gijoe and transformers lines!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like killing myself, after watching that crappy show!!!!! Hasbro just cant get it right! The movie was awesome then this garbage!!! I cant stand the cheasy pokeman style japanese animation. Why is optimus not in charge, and why is he such a bitch!!! They need a more serious show for the adults on adult swim. No of the fucking autobots had any weapons, nor could they defeat starscream 5 to 1 , and what the fuck is up with the communist dressing babies in the park.

I do not know what is going on with Cartoon Network recently but have you seen all of the shows comming in '08. It is looking like Nick or something. I think they even got one of their shows.

The drawing style stinks and the animation is awful. I first saw this sort of style in Batman, where it was done much better. I never loved it but I realise it suited Batman by trading complexity for ease of animation, where budget is limited. This wonky style is completely unsuited for drawing robots, in my opinion.

even then his character was annoying.
the series well if they throw in a rock off with soundwave and blaster for an entire eps. then it wouldn't be a total failure. the starscreen chin is what i call a ego enhancer more you rub the more your better than anyone

Starscream is voiced by Spongebob Squarepants. And I agree it sucks. Why did Starscream have to be voiced by that craphead? Why? They should've got Charlie Alder[Starscream in the film], or get Richard Steven Horvitz[Billy of Billy and Mandy, Zim on Invader Zim].

This "new" show sucks. I tried to watch it with an open mind. Instead I literally fell asleep trying to watch. For those of you out there that hated "Beast Machines" beware! The creator of that piece of schlock created this too!

I like this new show, even with all the changes they've made. Its a new and fresh twist on an old franchise thats been in dire need of new concepts and ideas in order to bring about a true series revival (Beast Wars was great, but Beast Machines ruined any chance of a continuation in the original timeline). i like the new blackarachnia and Blitzwing, as well as Megs and Screamer. I kinda resent that Optimus no longer has his rifle though...

.....what is this? All the attempts at reviving the animated series have been a disappointment. The only one i sorta liked was beast Wars the rest of the garbage nah. This doesnt seem to do the transformers justice.

I agree. I never seen much of the original Transformers, due to it was before my time, I grew up with BeastWars/Machines. When I heared they were making another new series, I hoped this one would be awesome, unlike that Transformeres:Energon/Armada or whatever else they have.

saw it last night-...was good..but only 3 things rlly disturbed me..1: Optimus face and Ratchet...they became some ugly mother fu**ers!
2: Sry who the hell is that bike guy did i hear Brawl? and taht fat one with a massive jaw..
3: WTF did i hear that Bumblebee only repaired stuff at Cibertron? and Optimus was never a hero and Ratchet was older? is this new? or did they brainwashed everyone?

This is a new continuity so I can accept that THIS Optimus has never met humans. It's the complete re-writing of his personality I take issue with.
Say what you will about the past three shows. But Gary Chalk's Optimus Prime FELT like the noble iconic leader. Same with the RiD Prime. THOSE were recognizable as Optimus. This guy isnt.

I watched it today out of curiousity to see how the Teen Titans crew could do, and they did horribly. The only thing I liked about it was Prowl.
I've never seen all of the Transformers series, but out of them all that I have seen, this is the first where the fight an alien...
That was just a wtf moment.

Tom Kenny is a God as Starsrceam! I love this new show. All you haters need to piss off! Maybe it's cause your all teens and think you know the G1 series. This is the closest I've seen to that show. It's a hundred times better than the last three series.
