@ReisNJake If you wanted to do it, most decent video editors can do multiple "tracks" and splitscreen effects.

I actually did something different for WTF: I turned the movie into a collection of still images (like JPGs) using ffmpeg. Then I wrote all the software doing the effects myself, operating on the still images. Then I wrote some software that combined four still images into one, and then I turned that sequence of still images back into a movie with ffmpeg then added the audio back in.
