  • Actually the Beatles Remasters works with surround sound. So if you got a surround sound setting just plug them in and it will automatically produce surround sound.

  • does this come with both mano and stereo

  • @mggspartan sold separately

  • /watch?v=GIul_4gxROI

  • can i play the mono discs in stereo player???

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl yes, but the stereo won't divide sounds in amplifiers

  • @lirfrank so, the sound's gonna be a little different from what i'll be supposed to listen to?

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl not in quality, in the stereo system distribution, bass won't be separated from the guitar part like in the stereo remaster, I know this because i have stereo and a friend has mono remasters, they're the same thing, in other words, the package is the real difference

  • Do the remastered box sets come with special booklets? Like apart from the cd's? Because I started collecting Beatles albums, not knowing of the better deal of the boxset and wanted to know if I should get the boxset anyway if it comes with a book aswell.

  • @MichaelLawlorRojas audio wise and clarity i would suggest mono if you only care about mini documentary's or booklets stereo

  • Im 13, hate todays music and love the beatles... i need to get a job if i want this

  • The old man seems to be in a happy mood. He might remembering his youthful days when the Beatles was still on tour :))

  • id rather stick to the orginal vinyl versions, which i do have some, over the remasters.

  • i can say iv had a ps3 a laptop and bike over the years for my birthdays but THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT I HAVE EVER RECIVED and thats coming from a 16 year old very privelidged to have the stereo collection its AMAZING

  • I understand why "Yellow Submarine" could be more appreciated in mono than in "stereo" (or so they say). But the mono version of "Tomorrow never knows" is an original mix and does not have anything to do with a mere superposition of channels 1+2 of the stereo take, which would cancel out some sounds designed to come from elsewhere (they are in phase opposition, probably an idea of John)

  • wow i wish i had money

  • It looks that Abbey road as as so let it be doesn´t appear in the whte box. Does anyone knows why?, Greetings since mexico.

  • ty vm

  • Nearly A year on since I watched this preview video, really added to the amazing excitment I had when I was preparing to invest in all The Beatles Remasters, which I did, mono and stereo. This video was great really gave me a great taste of what I was getting. Watching this reallt re-lives that excitment. Thanks

  • @Ironwoodownr, The reason why The Beatles didn't release "Yellow Submarine", "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be" in mono because during the recording of these albums, they (The Beatles) did not do a mono mix for those albums, so they did stereo mixes. P.S., the last single they released in mono was the "Get Back/Don't Let Me Down" single.

  • Mono is better until Help and Rubber Soul and ect...

  • This guy doesn't even care about the mono set.

  • carajo solo tengo 5 necesito todossss

  • The Beatles MONO doesnt have all the songs in mono..

  • Hi... what do you think of UNLIMITED Beatles mono Box Set ? So far 30,000 has been issued instead of original announcement of limited 10,000. What is the "collectible" value in the first 10,000 release now? and how the one can tell its the first 10,000 or whatever without any numbers on them? Total rip off market scam to me.

  • While i'm still tempted by the MONO cds, mainly because they are mini replicas, I'm quite happy with my little BEATLES STEREO USB

  • i have both box sets. the mono sounds beter and looks cooler. the mini lp packaging. but stereo is good too

  • i have the mono got it for Christmas but it doesn't have abbey road album, yellow submarine album, or let it be album and that makes me kinda mad

  • the mono version has extended stuff, you guys...

  • how much is the stereo box set?

and how much is the mono set?

  • whats better the mono or stero?

  • Mono is the albums as theyt were meant to be heard, but there is no Abbey Road (one of my favs) or Let it Be (pretty good album) because theyt were never released in mono, but the stereo version has all the album from please please me to the past masters in stereo

  • mono sounds better but is more expensive

  • @collcoll13 mono

  • I have a question -- My old stereo receiver (from 1978) has a switchable option stereo/mono mode. So, if I'd buy the stereo remasters and select the mono mode in my receiver, would it be the same as buying the mono remasters? In theory, there should have any difference, am I right? I've tried with stereo cds and it really works (mono mode kills the stereo effect, everything plays in both speakers)...

  • Mono mixes are different from the stereo mixes, so if you select the mono mode in your receiver while playing back the stereo albums it would not be the same as buying the mono box. There's a video on youtube which shows the biggest differences between the mono and the stereo mixes.

  • Yellow Submarine was mixed in mono, but those mixes were never released (until now, they're part of "mono masters").

  • Does anyone know if Let It Be was released in Mono back in 1970?

  • I Like both Mono and Stereo. The last album they recorded was Abbey Road but the last one to be released was Let It Be. Let It Be was produced by Phillip Spector, and he was this great mono producer but this means I don't know if Let It Be was released in Mono back then...

  • Why does the box mono set only contain Rubber Soul and Help! in stereo? That seems pretty random unless their something that I am unaware of. I would've thought that White Album and Magical Mystery Tour in stereo make more sense.

  • Because they're including the original 1965 stereo mixes of those albums. The ones from the 1987 CDs are remixes made 1987 by George Martin.

  • thanks...Sgt Pepper is the one album i've heard sounds particularily good in mono but if i want it i would have to buy the entire mono box set wouldn't i? is there any way to buy the individual remasters in mono or are they only in stereo?

  • Listened to the original mono mix of "Help" as played on a Capitol 45. Then compared it to the 2009 remastered mono version and find myself being disappointed because John's voice seems so compressed. Whereas the original Capitol 45 explodes with John's voice front and center. What gives?

  • what will sound best in my car: mono or stereo? also does the stereo box set have every album in the mono set plus Abey Road? if so why is the mono set more expensive? i'm pretty ignorant when it comes to audio so any input would be much appreciated

  • 1. probably mono. it depends on which albums you want to hear, if want to hear the later ones, go for stereo for the early ones- mono. when i say later i mean like everything after Sgt. Pepper and early i mean everything before Sgt. Pepper(Sgt. Pepper sounds great in both btw)

    2. yes

  • 3. the mono box is more like the LPs with a mini replica of everything- the Cd, the cover, inner sleeve, everything and the stereo is a gatefold(all of them) not a replica like the mono but comes with the mini documentaries and little booklets.

  • Tis collection is great before 21 years is Real!

  • I really hope EMI makes more of the mono box set because people who did not get it and still want it. Hopefully I get both sets sometime this year or something to get both and I would be a happy Beatles fan.

  • Please Please me and With The Beatles sound terrible in stereo. The rest are o.k.

  • You Lucky Son Of A Bitch! Thanks For Sharing. I Will Definitely Be Getting My Own Box Set... When Someone Decides To Hire Me :(

  • The 87 releases are horrible compared to the remastered ones that just came out, The Beatles are are much better in Mono though.

    Mono>>>>>>Stereo.

  • please upload this songs Thank you

  • im collecting the stereo cds right now since there easier i have please please me to help! right now and people are dumb if they think there is no diffrence either they dont have ears or havent listend to the beatles as much as i have but i can tell a huge difference

  • Same here. I'll never listen to those '87 releases ever again.

  • I have both and i prefer the stereo mixes, im not saying that the mono mixes are bad,im saying that i like the stereo , if you want a traditional sound, buy the mono and if you want to hear the beatles quite diferent the stereo and be happy

  • very cool!

  • By the way, I prefer the stereo version, and I need help by someone telling me the difference of an unboxed Beatles mono 2009 remastered album and a Stereo 2009 remastered album. I need help 'cause I'm afaraid I might pick up the mono instead of the stereo one.

  • You will only find the mono stuff boxed. Everything you buy that is unboxed you can be sure that it's the stereo remasters

  • ohh !! boy !!

  • I didnt get the "Christmas in august part" before i looked at the adding date!

  • How'd you get them in August?

  • Can anyone with a good ear tell me if the sound is over-modulated, like 100% of today's CDs?

  • It is in some places, yes.

Frankly, I think the Mono releases are the better quality, with a few exceptions. Hard Days Night, White Album and MMT all seem to sound better in stereo, while the rest of the mono CDs absolutely crush the stereo mixes.

Plus, the mono releases don't feature any limiting, so rather than trying (and failing) to simulate 'fullness' like with the stereo releases, the monos remain faithful to the original depth of the master tapes.

    Hope that helped some. :)

  • You're welcome. :) I believe the next run of Mono box sets will be available sometime next month, so be on the lookout if you want to experience the definitive Beatles! :D

  • They are worth every penny for sure. I love the packaging. Couldn't be happier. I bought Abbey Road and The White album and it was like being in hog heaven. Listening and looking at the great art/photos. The remastering was perfectly done because they did not over-use the technologies of today. Rather they clearly spent alot of time thinking, making choices and preserving the purity of the songs all while making them richer, cleaner and just plain beautiful.

  • I love the way you presented the boxes, I got my stereo box (09-09-09) and I'm still drooling

  • im very disappointed with the mini documentaries DISC. It is just recycled audio from the Anthology DVD's.....

  • Just got the stereo remasters and they are absolutly amazing!!! The first song I heard, for some reason, was 'Dear Prudence' and it gave me chills on how good the sound was!!!

  • So I got my stereo box today (09.09.09) and spent the entire day listening through the catalogue in order from first to last (= Abbey Road in my books.) It was glorious, it really was! My esteem for this revolutionary group has grown even bigger if such a thing is possible...

I certainly felt that I got my money's worth - it's like rediscovering the Beatles all over again.

  • What awful packaging, jewel cases are used for a reason to prevent discs getting ruined all this fancy cardboard packaging ruins the discs.

  • yeah, I bought the Dave Matthews Bands latest album and it's in carboard, one of my discs is already scratched. what they SHOULD have doen is what Barenaked Ladies did, I know all the remaining Beatles are very ECO, and what BNL did is they had a recycled paper cover, and the tray was made from starch (yes potatoes) and it's really nice, and strong feeling.

  • Very annoying of them to put more packaging effort into the cheaper stereo release.

  • For the love of all things holy people, you know there was a time when fans WANTED the album cover art! I'm getting so sick of this "when are they going to be available on I-Tunes" crap! BUY THE FRIGGIN' ALBUMS! You want them on I-Tunes for a personal shuffle of your favorites? Fine. That's the modern day mix-tape. But for crying out loud, don't forsake the ALBUMS with their cool booklets and artwork! Com'on people!

  • YES!!! The voice of reason has finally spoken!!! Having the albums is better because you physically have them rather that "digitally" having them!

  • Also it seems pointless that people would spend money on the higher quality remasters if they're just going to compress them down to .mp3 quality. Get a decent hi-fi system and listen to music properly, fools.

  • @MattHatter True..fuck itunes, i'd rather download for free HAHA

  • @MattHatter My I Tuens dont even work on my computer, i agree with you,

  • @Standrew777: Thanks. Yeah I-Tunes is fine if people would just use it for what I've always thought it should be used for, just a personal radio, nothing more. The music industry screwed up making people pay so much for CDs. The Apple Records box is now available and it's like $300! The artists cared about what their albums looked like because it was part of the package.

  • @MattHatter Agreed.. Dont people like bringing there cd's in a car anymore? I Bring like, 5 beatles cd's, lol

  • @MattHatter I just don't wanna waste my money to buy past masters when I can just get the B sides I'm missing for a lot less.

  • @Koolkitties: Well if you want to take that route, that's fine. I mean, your conversing with someone here who won't be satisfied until I've got a complete set of ORIGINAL, WEST COAST PRESSING AMERICAN BEATLE LPs. I just wish everyone would have that joy, that excitement of holding it in your hands. It's not just nostalgia because I'm only 34 years old. A mint record sounds GREAT if you have a proper turntable. Hopefully people will still buy the whole albums on I-Tunes now.

  • The beatles aren't gonna be on iTunes cos of the disagreement of the name of the beatles record company

  • to get the mini documentary do you have to get all the boxed set or will it come with the albums... also can you get the mono, and the stereos individuily. Also when will the beatles be on ITUNES!!!!!!!!

  • The mini "making of the album" documentaries will be embeded on each stereo album. In the stereo box set there will be an extra dvd of all the docs included!

  • You can't get the mono individually.

  • That's the annoying bit. I wish they'd put the albums out with stereo and mono versions together. The separate mono box at £200 (with no leaflets or documentaries either) seems absurd to me. Each separately available album should contain both stereo and mono versions, and there should be one box set containing everything.

  • can't wait for my stereo box to get here...I don't plan on getting on the 9th, more likely the 10th or the 11th.

  • Do the mono cds cases have all the extras (like the white album poster and sgt pepper cut-outs)? because the mono cases looked very slim in the video and he actually showed the stereo which looked thicker.

  • Thanks Joe, that was a cool little look at these excellent new releases :)

  • I think that their music is just their music, doesn't matter what kind of techinlogy they're giving us, it's just an emotion. Many of us would misunderstand it but it'ok. We're not talging about mono or stereo...

  • Damn can´t wait til my Mono box, and the beatles rockband arrives :)

  • Apparently no one has the money to get it, just like me. Let's rob a bank or two.

  • sure, lets go :D

  • i want to buy them very much!

    But! where's my money? T-T

  • now if i only had the money...

  • ::drools::

  • Shame about the stereo versions. Look at the white album.. they've jammed the CDs into the cardboard sleeve without any protection, so they come instantly scratched. Nice work.

On the other hand, the mono versions are more faithful mini-vinyl style replicas, with inner sleeves, according to one review. Why didn't they just do them all like that?

This 'eco-friendly' crap needs to stop too. Who the hell buys CDs and throws the cases away?

  • People who like to store their collections in those fabric carry cases, probably. I'm not one of them.

  • what should you get MONO or STEREO?

  • wheres the review hurry on musicradar !?!?

  • Usually, when you were a kid and you get the hottest item out, your friends want to see it. Some are selfish and don't share. This guy right here kindly shared for what I was looking for the entire time since I heard the remasters were coming out. I thought it would ruin the surprise but just to make sure it was everything they said. No lies. I'm getting mine the day it's released...to pick up. I don't want to pre order. Such a hassle sometimes.

  • ok so when u buy this do u get two of each album, one in mono and one in stereo? im so confused

  • No. They are releasing two different boxsets: in mono and stereo. Some hardcore fans want them in mono because that's the way they were originally mixed up until Abbey Road. So there's a box for that. The stereo boxset has all of the albums based on the UK discography. That's the one I'm getting.

  • no you have to pick one, he bought both.

  • Beacause this lucky bastard is a music critic who can get things early to review!

  • It is an early Christmas for Joe Bosso.

I am not Joe, so it is not a question of me being gracious!

  • this may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between mono and stereo and does anyone know how much these are gunna cost?

  • They cost around $200 each, give or take a few.

  • The mono mixes had more effort put into them in the 60s because more people had equipment that would only play mono. The Beatles themselves contributed to these mixes and they took longer to do. The stereo mixes took less time, without the Beatles present and differ quite a lot from the mono ones - it's not just a case of the two channels not being there. Therefore the mono are a big deal for fans. Abbey Road is a different matter - the main release for that was in stereo. I hope this helps.

  • The mono set contains 1965 stereo sets of Help and Rubber Soul.

Which means you have three versions of Ticket To Ride.

Please review and compare the mono, the 1965, and 2009 remasters.

  • It nice to have yesteryear's classic pop culture media (film, tv, music) still around, but it is a little daunting how the same stuff gets lovingly shoved down our throats and dupes us into shelling out more money for basically the same thing, over and over again. Yes, it is great to have the Beatles music redone to the best audio quality possible, but does it really have to be packaged so ornately packaged. and sold for so much? Straight CDs or online release would have been fine.

  • You can buy the remastered albums individually.

  • You can't buy monos individually.

  • I forgot about the mono cd's only available in a set! The stereo ones can be purchased by title.

  • Online release ONLY?? Are you *insert expletives here* kidding me? Album art still matters to loads of us, especially when it's legendary stuff like this! As for the "over and over again" comment... Seriously, an entire generation has grown up since the last time these babies were (POORLY) released on CD! This is the first time many of us will have the chance to listen to the catalogue in its entirety.

    *takes a deep breath*

I get emotional just seeing clips like these... thanks!! :D

  • These are going to put a small ding in my share ratio.

  • These remasters on CD is such a load of marketing rubbish - US$ 200+ for the set. If EMI were really savvy and knowledgeable they would have released all of these on vinyl and spent some proper money making them. Those card slipcases are just so cheap! When the Beatles were first remastered onto CD back in the mid-80's Abbey Road studios had thousands of complaint letters that they had to shove into a back room.

  • Marketing rubbish? More like "decent audio quality".

  • sell em on ebay

  • Thanks Joe :)

  • nice but probably costs a fortune

  • Can I have these for Christmas please if I'm very, very good?

  • get a life
