Sometimes yes! I rely on the interpretation of such words by different scholars and consider similarities with the Lebanese dilatect, my mother language, and also with the Hebrew language.
great video. I just wonder how the lions were offered ? obviously lions images. speaking of big cats, 'Arayim' & 'Araiyot' , the lake Erie in North America was named - 'Erie' meaning 'Big Cat' !!! in Houron indians language who lived around it. btw. Leopard is not a 'Greek' word.. it's from Hebrew 'Lawi' - Lion', + 'Barod' - 'Spotted'. thus - 'Spotted Lion' -'Lawi-Barod' became 'Leopard'. same with 'Bardalas' -Panter in Hebrew. Barod was fused here with 'Laish' another Hebrew word for Lion : )
great video , we thank you all Tony for your efforts :) The phoenician month names together with the israelite, hebrew biblical name go back to the old canaanite month system, the punic people continued to use the canaanite month system till the roman times. The late phoenician, israelite calenders are based on the babylonian calender :)

Another brilliant video, Tony. May I ask you, when you translate Phoenician inscriptions do you find many words with obscure meanings?

@MrViTopol These were lion statues. I am sorry I should have mentioned that. Cat in Arabic is 'HIR'or 'QIṬ'. Thank your for your comments!
