@justin32123 hey Im getting one of these but i am gonna use a passive radiator too. Should I build a box to the size of the ported recommendations or the sealed size box recommendations? Because the passive radiator thing is confusing me.
love the subs and setup... but wtf? get a better amp and ditch the pointless cap... replace the cap with a good 100a/h battery both in front and back and replace the amp with like a sundown saz2000 or a audioque AQ2200D then your shit will hit. like it can. but until then nice show(and no go)
lol! dont be haten on the kia hahahaha. yeah man, for right now till payments are done its what ive got. but after im probably gonna pick somethin nice up like a 350z or something cool like that.
nice fuckin setup bro i have two of these in my 96 accord with the new cerwin vega stroker 2000 watt amp and an optima battery sounds really good in person i metered it and im hittin 147 sumtimes 149,wat u hittin
Ya the 2 ohm subs are actually 1.8 I found that out the hard way. That might be why you were burning them out. Usually it will take out your amp first. I had to buy another amp. My amp only goes to 1 ohm and the subs were at .9 ohm my amp didn't like it. Nice setup tho.
I barley got 1 to fit in the ported box,i think the box will have to be built inside the trunk,Also 2 seperate boxes I've been waiting for the dealer where i bought my sub to get back with me on how to go about it.He was supose to be calling Boston about the install.Whats making it so hard is I want Spl which I need 5 cubic ,my trunk is a total of 7 might have to go sealed but dont want to.
you can go sealed and always get a "radiator" for it. ive actually just ordered two for my car. they're cheep and super effective! 50% louder bass per sub and for around $150-$200.
Thanks for the compliment man, and for sure i'll post that video up as soon as i get them done. im pretty just saving up money to get them installed, and set up. but hopefully it wont be long.
@justin32123 Yeah I sold my ranger which is in my videos. I am about to get a Chrysler Crossfire, and I will have to get a sealed box built to save on space. I am hoping that installing the radiator as well will keep my output near that of the box that was in my ranger. Either way I know my frequency response will be much flatter across the subs entire range:-)
Thanks man. i see what you mean with your mustang though. My box was custom built THEN put in... TIGHT fit i might add too. i think the biggest problem for your car will be not the AIR SPACE, cause your trunk is quit large. BUT getting the box IN, mustang trunks have a weird form and shape making it alright to fit maybe 2 10's or 12's. but a box big enough for to spg-555's.......
i think your best choice would be to build 2 seperate boxes then cram them in there. or.... you could spend alot of time and money and have it built inside.... which will suck to do, but! worth it in the end.
My Boston 555's are much louder!!! 146.7 Decibels!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice set up, especially the subs, but then there is a shot of the "KIA", really? Those High End subs deserve more respect.

looks nice, but I think those subs can handle a lot more..
TY1ON4ME 1 year ago
would those subs work in a bigger box?
Unique539 1 year ago
@Unique539
I would assume so. the box i have is deceivingly big. but these subs seem to love bigger boxes. the low bass notes they hit is really respectable.

krazy1652 1 year ago
@krazy1652
i did start with a 2 ohm, but i just burned them out too quickly. so i switched to a 4 ohm instead.
