i run 4 eagle talons on my rustler nad so far their awesome, the grip on dirt is INSANE! i do wheelies on dirt! and on pavement their very good! best tires yet~!
can someone help me with my problem my ruslter keeps making grinding noises i inspected the differential gears no damage i inspected about every possible part in the car that has gears and it has no damage it runs like normal but with the grinding noise any idea why?
Nice rustler. To answer a couple of questions. yeah the anaconda tires are worth it for pavement. I run them on my rst vxl and they wear much better as well as offer more grip. And batteries, if your charger can take it I would recommend a 3s lipo for speed, upgrading from 7 cell to 8 cell won't give you the overall power you may want. A good 2s lipo is more than enough for bashing though. Aswell when you run talon tires, change your gearing. I run either 19/83 or 25/90. Less heat!
This video is rely out-dated, I switched over to lipo ages ago, and I don't run talons anymore, I run Geolandars and Gladiators, and I am using the equivalent stock gearing in 32p gears, you can see it in one of my new videos.
hey man how much faster would the 8 cell go than the 7 cell i no i should get lipo but to much so how much faster would it be thanx please reply i have rustler by the wat
the only thing i dont like about the rustler vxl is how easy the rear shock tower breaks,I have broke 3 in about a week and a half, but i put a aluminum one on mine so now its fine.
Yes, and a lot of people blame it on the screws, but what you rely need are new wrenches, go onto eBay and search for EDS 1.5, 2 and 2.5mm wrenches, I got some of those and have not stripped any screws since, and the ones that I thought where stripped work great with the new wrenches, they are one of the best upgrades I have ever gotten for my Truck.
u need to get aluminum hubs for front and rear and also a aluminum front caster block, i have broken so many plastic parts its not even funny, dont bother with the wheelie bars, there junk, they snap really easy, and get hardend stainless steel drive output yokes, that lipo will torque the stock crap ones right off, unless ur a all on road driver or a pansy offroad driver, and would u recomend all around talons or all around anacondas, i need enough grip 2 wheelie on road and dirt but not 2 much
hey man i have a question is the vxl and the xl5 rustler have the 12mm in all 4 wheels i see that vxl has it thank to your vid iam wondering if the xl5 has it
I have a fully modified Tamiya DF02 with a 3.5turn brushless and 3 cell lipo, Using a laser gun my top speed is 144kms per hour, can get more speed but then take off suffers. Electric is by far the way to go these days.
mhmmmm... i cant quite recall my gas car but, it has a 3.5 hp engine in it and is able to travel at 75 mph, not modified at all. i really prefer the gas cars, there is more room for modification and weight isnt as much as a problem (would you know where to get a metal rollcage, i absolutely demolish my plastic body.)
I've had multiply rc cars, both nitro and electric and its just down to personal choice really. But if your chasing speed and performance then the nitro doesnt stand a chance against electrics these days. Sure you can get nitros that go quick, I have a Hobao Hyper one 7 onroad tourer with a .28 racing motor and that does around 130kms per hour but there is electrics out there doing in excess of 200 clicks these days. Nitro's require more work, cleaning and tuning, electric so much easier
The Trinity is my favorite battery, but I have used is so much that is dose not perform as well as is use to, so now I find myself using my Venom battery more that the Trinity battery, but I would not recommend any of these battery's, the next battery I get will be a Pro Match battery no question about it, they are a reasonable price and from the research that I have done they are some of the best nickel-metal hydride battery's that one can buy, go to promatchracing. com and check them out.
pretty nice but what gears do u run with the talon tires on it? also traxxas made the waterproof vxl esc its in the catalogs but not on website yet i dont think also y get rpm i mean its just another plastic piece y not get alloy parts? thats what i do when i break something
If you are talking about how fast I go, I don't think I have taken it over 40mph because I do not have the space and do not feel it is safe on roads where there is an intersection every 80ft.
Nice Rustler. Which tires, the Anacondas or Talons, do you think handle better on-road? I went to foams but lost top speed without the balloning, and someone said the Talons handle really well on the Rustler.
The Anacondas do great on road if the road is really warm, I have used mine in the winter on the road and they suck, but in the summer they are great, as for the talons, I can't say for sure, because I have not had a chance to try theme out because of all the snow, but I will say that the bit of grass that I have hit, the tires where great, I am itching for summer because I live in Regina and my weather network widget says that it is -11 and feels like -21, and it dose not feel far from that.
All I can say is even with the 31/76 gearing this thing wheelies at the touch of the throttle at any speed. With my Maxamps 3s 6500mah lipo this thing seems overpowered and under geared even with this gear setup.
i vxl esc stoped working.. i sent it to traxxas... and they replaced it for 45 bucks.... its not bad.... but i'm waiting for a vxl waterproof vxl to come out... i had heard it was imposible to have a brushless waterproof esc.. but they do know make it for the 1/18 as
forresttrenaman said.... my car is now running great but i wore my tires to fast... and i've also broken a pair of rims... what tires should i get?
People say that Geolanders are the best tires, they were to expensive for me so I just went with Talons, as for the plastic part of the wheels, I would go with RPM, because they are made from nylon and will not brake.
traxxas will replace your esc for free if your car is under 2 weeks old otherwise you will need to pay them $45 to repair it. a new vxl esc is $115 but you should just get it repaired for $45. they wont come out with a waterproof brushless system because it cant be done.
I haven't had a chance to relay try theme out yet, because it has been so wet and icy, but from what I have heard they are pretty good tires, but I have heard that they are not as good a HPI Yokohama Geolandar Tires.
