if you read the news article about this exhibition, the artist actually physically restrained people that tried to help, and they were kicked out. Don't mark all the people that went to the exhibition out of curiosity as cruel too.
The dog wasn't killed for art. There wasn't even that intention. The dog was only in the gallery for a few hours. It escaped. People, don't get all emotional over something that didn't happen.

Erm...this dog was a stray and brought in off the street. He was in the exhibition for three hours, fed, and then released. He didn't die of starvation for art.

Now, when I first saw this, I had to know why he did this. I myself, am an artist, and even though what he did was cruel, the message is really interesting; but he could’ve presented it differently.

The image is really graphic, but its something that is graphic and different like that, is what the public needs to see to get the message through to them. Erm...this dog was a stray and brought in off the street. He was in the exhibition for three hours, fed, and then released. He didn't die of starvation for art.

@cybersuebee Certainly. Perhaps it was a wake up call to the people who did visit this gallery/saw what was printed in the media. Perhaps not. The man who did this may have loved dogs and wanted this issue to be raised? Or perhaps he was just greedy, wanting money and using the animals suffering? I really don't know, but at least the dog didn't die for art and hopefully it was used for the greater good.

Official word is that the dog ran away after having been fed for three days. And it was denied that the dog died in the art gallery. its morals that come into play which such a thing as this. i think the artist had a good point which was that many animals are starved to death however he went about it in the wrong way. the difference between the dog in the show room and the dogs on the streets is that the dogs on the streets can run around and find some sort of food however this dog was forced to sit in a room starving. the artist is a fool for not going about his work in the right way .

thats the whole point of this. people just walk by. if anyone actually did any research on this. the guy did this to raise awareness. to raise a point. im not saying its right. but dogs like this starve and die everyday in 3rd world countries. unfourtunatly, this dog would have died either way. he wanted people to see it, to make a change. sometimes art is more then "a pretty picture" look at how much awarness this has gotten.
