@lituvis1 I've got an Xperia Play and it's great for playing N64, PS1 and SNES games. The control pad is excellent. However, the HTC flyer is a 7" tablet that isn't as portable as the 4" Xperia Play.
As far as gaming is concerned, I would go for the Xperia Play simply because of the dedicated control pad, the Dual Shock feature with PS1 games when using FPSE and the portability. Not to mention that the Xperia Play has the benefit of a removable battery.
I agree with some people on the iPad being a rip off and your paying what 420-450 for a wifi 16 gb when this is like 340-370 for 32gb wifi faster processor and the pen concept which i think is really creative
can't they deactivate the hand touch input altogether and allow only the input from the pen? keeping your hand in the air all the time can be tiring. Other than that this is what I've been looking for all my life!
I THINK HTC IS GOOD YOU SHOULD GIVE THEM A CHANCE BECAUSE EVERYBODY IS SAYING ABOUT I PADS ARE BETTER ECT.... I THINK IPADS ARE RIP OFFS BECAUSE YOUR BASIALLY PAYING FOR THE NAME BUT THATS JUST ME ... SORRY APPLE FANS
got my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 with HC 3.1 last week .. nothing compares to that really, my sister's ipad looks rather minimalistic infront of it , I am chuffed!
@Gipshaw When this tablet came out the current version of Honeycomb (3.1) wasn't optimized for any other platforms other than Nvidia Tegra 2 (would be really laggy on anything else). However, the newest version which just got released (3.2) is optimized for other platforms. Hopefully Flyer will get an update to 3.2..
Got my hands on one yesterday,...it's pretty amazing, the touch is as good as the ipad, the note taking is ideal, and the screen is beautiful. Good job by htc, just wish it had more than just a mini usb on it besides the headphone jack. dual cameras though. and it's not heavy, but very solid. A definite keeper. lil pricy at 499 for just the wifi version.
OMG OMG OMG OMG HTC SCRIBE LETS ME WRITE ON THE SCREEN if i wanted to write i would grab a pen and some damn paper im not gonna spend 400$ just so i could write on a screen
@jacobh1995 considering how slow the reaction is when the guy was writing something down, I would say: No. It's Actually quiet disappointing..but I never had my hands on it, so cant really say :)
Tried a demo unit in the store today, and it wasn't as atrocious and unstable as assumed. I was even able to write with the stylus in a manner comparable to conventional pen and paper. I may end up purchasing one this summer.
@TheAsianInvasion23 because it's crap and only has a single core.....I would never buy it. People call the iPad just a big ipod touch but this just looks like a big HTC phone....fail.
@TheAsianInvasion23 coz honeycomb source code is not yet open. So HTC cannot modify it to add their interface. Google may make it open after the release of next version of honeycomb.
Android 3.0 seems to be the “killer feature” that has grabbed the attention of the tech media.HTC Flyer is also euiped with a Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.Maybe it is really a tablet like no other–a sleek tablet and a magic pen that transoforms any situation
I think they're just trying to keep the design consistent so it's easier for people to recognize that hey, that's an HTC device. a pen and 7inch! that's exactly what I was hoping from the ipad2 as an artist looking for a digital sketchbook, apparently apple still doesn't realize a pen changes it all. I wish it was pressure sensitive though, such a shame.
@tardis1996 If the pen could scratch the screen I would be afraid of what else could scratch it. I'm sure pen does NOT scratch the screen that would be the biggest design flaw I've ever seen.

Make a successor to the Flyer (HTC Flyer 2, Flyer v2, however they want to call it.)
Give me the longest possible battery life, and an 8-10 Megapixel camera or more on the back, then i'd be happy.
