I wish people could find something else to say about Karen Carpenter. She was much more than the reasons for her death. She was much more than anexoria - anorexia is a mental illness, it's not the whole of a person. If anything, this amazing live recording proves that she needs to be remembered as one of the most expressive female vocalists of our times... not as "that girl who starved herself to death". Find something else to talk about !

Karen Carpenter didn't write this song. It was written by a man whose mother used to mutter to herself. She didn't kill herself either. She died of a heart attack caused by rapid weight gain. The "treatment" for her anorexia is no longer used bc it's too stressful for the heart. If that moron Steven Levenkron hadn't treated a disease he knew nothing about, it is likely that Karen would still be alive. She wasn't suicidal.

i would love to see this womans "full" life story on the big screen, to me it seems as though her legacy is a bit shattered and muddied in mystery for some reason, music industry should do right by her in solidifying all that she possessed and gave to the world via her enormous talent.

@munph70 I am blessed I came to know karen carpenter and richard, i am now 32, for me she's the best unlike other female singers, they shout when they sing, but karen's voice is charming. when she sings, she sings naturally and never shouts. when i was young i always listened to her songs, that's why I would say "waiting for my favorite songs, when she sings I'd sing along it made me smile. those were such happy times and not so long ago, how I wondered where she'd gone.."
