  • ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIES. LOVE BRIAN DEPALMA!

  • is this movie violent?

  • *scene from the remake*

Michael Caine: Will you be wanting the Batpod, dear?

Angie: In the middle of the day? Not very subtle.

Michael: The Lamborghini, then. Much more subtle.

  • @hotgirlsarehot lol hahahahaa

  • Hmmmmm......makes me think I need a shower. Maybe in a motel...

  • the ending was so weird and disturbing.

  • Dear Hollywood: DON'T YOU DARE RE-MAKE THIS CLASSIC!! OR BRIAN DEPALMA WILL KICK YOUR ASSES!! Thank you, that is all.

  • @lurch321 but isnt this a "remake" of Psycho?

  • @southernbrooklyngal I don't think that was DePalma's intention, but it most certainly was inspired by it.

  • I am so gonna see it : )

  • Depalmas Version of Hichcoks "Psycho"...brilliant!!!

  • Kyôko Enami is better now.

  • Angie was a total MILF here!

  • @PillsWicky yeh i wanna cum in her mouth!

  • @robinho1979 well put Shakespeare

  • @robinho1979 Me too! I wanna come all over her face!

  • when this movie released in UK, it was hit by the yorkshire ripper at the time and condemned, i saw it on video and thought it both stylish and erotic with great set pieces and a loving tribute/rip-off of pyscho.

when screened on itv for the 1st time, a heavily cencored version was shown, no swearing, no nudity, no sex and no murder scene! it was dreadful! i had never seen a movie so cut for tv over so little in all my life! a grwat film of great set pieces with them all totally cut out!!!

  • @jackscal1 I believe the politically correct term is a loving homage to psycho!...and it was a GREAT MOVIE!

  • Nancy allen is a hot slut, does not act anymore/???

  • this movie was the best movie brian de palma has everb made!

  • Michael Kain's worst part in his carreer....

  • @1:15 Lady Gaga

  • brian depalma does not direct more movies???

  • Ok, I was wondering for the longest time who the stranger in the museum was and turns out his name is Ken Baker and he is now a realtor in NJ! But it looks like the guy in the shower scene is not the same guy? Anyone know? I know for Angie, they used a body double; a Penthouse model, but is Ken also doing the shower scene. Ken, if you are reading this, I'd like to know. :)

  • the main influence for depalma on this film was not hitchcock but dario argento.go see a movie called the bird with a crystal plumege, and you will see where depalm got his idea for the elevator seqence

  • @sjohns1974 brilliant observation Watson

  • absolutely amazing film score by pino donaggio

  • Hitchcock/Argento rip-offs and all, this movie is great.

  • wish someone would upload the whole movie

  • So, was Angie Dickinson the first MILF or or the first Cougar?

  • @Cash2112 Just a gorgeous chick from her Rat Pack years(Juila Roberts could never be as sexy in Oceans 11-Angie did it first in the original and better) thru Police Woman and yes In Dressed to Kill, body double or not

  • i always wondered what if she was able to survive the blonde with Razor(who is actually..spoiler NOT) but had to now tell the police-if they got to question her at all, what exactly was she doing in this Apt Building.. then try to get treated for the STD..while hiding all that from her husband and son-but still there is this blonde person stalking her-I guess Fatal Attraction covered some of that to an extent without the VD-LOL

  • Back when adult thrillers did not have pander to tweens.

If made now,Jennifer Garner would be Kate Miller ,That Lindsey LoHo would be Liz the call girl ,and that Justin Bieber would be Dr.Elliott-LOL and directed by some guy in music videos-UGHHHHHHHH

  • @deckard97 LOL!!!! Times were certainly different back then! Believe it or not, my favorite scene is the museum scene......no dialogue. Everything having to be conveyed by the actors through their eyes, gestures, and of course, the music!

  • @deckard97 My word, HOW TRUE ! No more long, brilliantly-edited ( by Vilmos Zsigmond ) sequences, adding suspense and tension. Each sequence would be chop-edited and made to look like a music video, with that quick-cut-slice method, where every shot appears to be a glyph from a video game. And the film would have to be " scored " ( I use that term merely to classify ) with that inane, RETARDED, general-issue Latin-chorus-demonic-child-OOOH-OOOH-OOOH sound. Dreadful. Lindsey Lohan !! H E L P !!!

  • @Mr111810 and it would be either really Dirty,Nasty -not Sensual ,Erotic like the DePalma version or watered down pg 13..yawn..LOL

  • @deckard97 Exactly. You hit it on-the-nose. " Dressed To Kill " is a well-crafted, erotic take-off on Hitchcock's

" Psycho ", not a brainless, blatant gore-fest like what passes for horror or suspense today. The sex and violence in DTK are not OBJECTIFIED, as they are subject to the perspective of a each participant. A rape fantasy, a brutal slaying, saving a prostitute, et al. These are DEVICES. This is completely lost on the young moviegoers of today. The bloodletting engages, actually.

  • lol the pyscho from gta vc is based on this

  • I love Angie she is so cool!

  • great, bizzare, erotic and stylish film..very typical de palma! the opening sequence is huge "turn on" *haha* and the twist didn't surprise me at all! haha..the killer had sent "a hint" miles away before he uncovered "his own other side"

Anyway, i still didn't get the relation between the killer and the STD-infected fucker at the beginning which ended up with angie dickinson's death

  • I love Nancy Allen in this. She looks awesome and is hilarious. The movie is over-the-top misogynistic, though, to the point of it being laughable. But, it looks great and stylish as all hell. x

  • @petie71 I loved her in this too,Detested her in "Carrie"-she was excellant though, and really liked her with Travolta(again) in Blow Out-one of those actresses that you wish would act more ,in everything

  • Love the isotoner gloves, 0:24.

  • Is this the one where he finds the chick naked in the shower?

  • Nancy Allen goddess!

  • a bit outdated but still a worthy thriller...the twist is kind obvious,though...

  • I went to the shop

A plastic barrier blocked the pavement. It was dark. Someone might trip. I moved it.

I walked on. I felt a twinge in my right thigh. I crossed the road because of this. I kept on walking but now I am looking around.

    I see it.

    247 characters remaining.

It was a men at work triangular sign. On the back it said CALL DERBYSHIRE

    code 058058

In the shop I purchased a small bottle of red wine and a bag of crisps. The man served before me bought 2 boxes of Swan matches

  • USA has HIV

  • and here I was searching for New Found Glory's - "Dressed To Kill" song. lol

  • Wow this is so Classic!

  • I own a piece of art that was done for a Pretty Maids party. Dickinson and Roddenberry signed it and I am considering selling it.

  • Many movie critics say there are many similarities between this movie and Psycho,

but I don't think so. This movie is in totally DE Palma Style.

  • Why is this and BLOW OUT out of print? Criterion has got to distribute these movies and re-release them on DVD.

  • 1:05 IS PSYCHO????

    Is imitation...

  • michael caine is awesome :)

  • Just a stupid, badly acted rip-off of Psycho.

  • god what a classic this film is!! its the type of movie when you havent seen it before you cant stop watching from beginning to end, totally edge-of-your-seat stuff!! ;-D the only bit i thought was a bit silly was when nanvy allen picks up the razor blade to stop the lift from jamming and holds onto it even while shes running out of the hotel, talk about making it look like it was you that did the murder!!

  • this was on IFC last night, where can you get it on dvd?

  • @KRstar78 be surprised if u cant get it on Amazon or ebay cheap!! x

  • In QTs 1st film he talks about this film, one character becomes a call girl because of it.

  • i love the music in this film have done since i first watched it with my grandparents in 1982 lol, the tube chase scene is fantastic

  • Angie Dickinson is beautiful at any age-catch her commentary on this film-20 years later! A perenial goddess!

  • One of my all time favorite Films! Angie Dickinson's performance raises this film from what could have been just another slasher flick, to a Thriller Masterpiece!!!

  • @rickw1100 Imagine THIS classic/gem/rarity being given the "re-make" treatment. In my opinion, as if there ISN'T enough damage done-ALREADY-due to re-makes! Look what happened to Psycho, the Amityville Horror, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday The 13th.

  • @AngelofAnguish -you"re absolutely right- like Psycho, the power of the film lies in the surprises and shocks. Once you know the actual storyline. It can't be remade. All they could do if, and God forbid that they do it - is re-imagine it, the way Tim Burton did with The Planet Of The Apes, essentially changing the details of the original source. God forbid!

  • @AngelofAnguish my thoughts exactly.........the remakes are an insult to the originals anyway, plus whats the point of redoing a film with exactly the same title and plot anyway?? i suppose to make money but personally i have no interest in themas nothing can outdo the original..........only a matter of time before they remake The Exorcist probably!!! x

  • THIS movie scares the HELL out of me!

  • Terrific trailer! A Great film!

How nice to see the trailer again.

  • Terrific trailer! A Great film!

How nice to see the trailer again.

  • I have found trailers all the way back to "The Great Escape"...Loving life...

Didn't love life when I found out that the shower scene was a double. Regardless, I love these "old" trailers...

  • It was very controversial when it was first released- due in no small part to Angie Dickinson's incedibly compelling performance. Now 30 years later, people still love the shocks that this film throws out.

  • with Blow Out and Body Double, Dressed to Kill <----- DePalma's best Hitchcockian movies

  • the last movie angie made. they tried to do a "this is your life" show with her but when they surpised her with it...she walked off the stage and never came back. great movie and music.

  • one of my fav films

  • this movie is as creepy as awsome!!!

a combination of suspence and visual poetry.

    that's my opinion...

  • my opinion is exactly the same

that's what i think sets it apart

  • @bertobill you forgot to mention pussy

  • Sliced to death with a razorblade in an elevator; not a good way to go. This movies terrifed the hell out of me back in the day.

  • Same here, mikesterSTLMO.

When my parents were busy, as a kid I'd be watching "forbidden" flicks like this. It's not straight up horror, but man, it left quite an impression. DePalma's earlier films were so powerful and dark.

  • The death in the elevator and the end shower scene with the shoes peaking past the door, combined with the score is by far one of the SCARIEST moments ever created in film. It is incredibly CHILLING due to the fact that they are situations that could easily happen in real life. I can not step into an elevator without that scene popping into my brain.

  • i agree the lift and shower scene r the most chilling ive ever seen, this movie makes u uneasy the whole way through. always resisted buying it because i love to watch it every few years on t.v..

  • Angie Dickinson was so perfectly cast in this movie that I cannot imagine anyone else playing that role. She's not just a pretty face in the film, but her face was so ethereal and beautiful and so human at the same time. She displays so much class and emotion and subtlety- it was a remarkable performance. Frankly, after she's gone the movie is hokey and the acting is bad, but the music is really fantastic throughout.

  • Murder...made to order.

  • awsome movie!

  • I agree! I've "distanced" or "disassocated" myself (so-to-speak) with today's so-called "horror"-including these horrendous re-makes (of horror classics)! I'll take "old school" horror ANYTIME or ANYDAY!

  • oh absolutely...some modern ones are ok...but they lack the originality of the older ones...good point my friend!

  • yes i agree i hate when they try to remake classics just to make a buck, pathetic, you cant remake them you just cant like "when a stranger calls",lame

  • love this movie...its scary, its kinky..lol and its an awsome plot too!

  • I've got this on dvd - incredible film. De Palma's horror movies were amazing - I adore them all :)

  • I remember going to see this at the movies in 1980.

  • She was a gorgeous woman!

  • i love the music.

  • "I borrowed your razer...and it cuts smooth. Which brand is it?"

  • brutal, wicked, fun

  • Great Trailer and Movie, saw it at the drive in as a kid.

Angie's character was a high class skank for sure.

Micheal Caine played a good and super creepy shirnk/serial killer!

  • This is one of the best horror movies EVER! FREAK ME OUT when I was a kid...

  • @sflachuck Michael Caine scared the hell out of me with the dark shades and the blonde wig. And of course the razor to.

  • @sflachuck Absolutely right!!

  • BTW aren't you sick and tired of all these directors who think they can dig up dead fossils and turn them into instant hits at the box office? It frickin sickens me to deaaaaaath!!

  • of course....of course. such great films were made during this time....

  • In my opinion, with Dressed To Kill, DePalma, at last, has HIS (answer to Hitchcock's) Psycho!

  • brilliant film..both kinky and suspensful at the same time!..hehehe!

  • Thats was a great movie.

  • Great music over wonderful long, long sequences with no dialogue.... suspense, DePalma style.

  • Amo y siepre amare a Angie, por siempre mi amor hacia ella, para ella mi amor mistico.

  • As close as it gets to a non-Italian giallo (even though all the crew is Italian)

  • Why would the STD guy want to kill her?

  • Angie Dickinson is so HOT!!! in this movie. Gotta love her.

  • Thanks it saw well

  • Angie Dickinson is really sexy in this movie!

  • Scary as hell! Exellent!

  • Brilliant. DePalma's masterpiece!

  • I saw both this movie and The Burning yesterday they were both awesome!!!

  • RIP angie dickenson. I enjoyed you in police woman.

  • She hasn't passed on yet? Or were you referring to her death scene in the movie? :P

  • she is still alive. she will be 77 on 30th September 2008

  • i have seen it...quite a scary movie..

  • Sisters is okay but Dressed to Kill is better.

  • This film was like a wake up call to people that you have to be very careful who you sleep with for sex. Because you never know if someone has some killer disease.

  • Yes, the killer STD the guy gave her summoned a serial killer to slay her in the elevator. Very rare.

  • I totally laughed out loud at the STD bit. Was it just me? Anyway, I love this movie - it's so classy. I hear it's out of print... grrr!

  • @FanOfMovies123: LOLOL!

  • @FanOfMovies123 this movie scared the crap out of me when i saw it...it was so demented

  • @FanOfMovies123 That's genuinely funny. Well, ya' know, the way them science folks is mutatin' all our TNT, er, DNA, or Run DMC, or DMV, or whatever. I wouldn't put it past one of them East Coast cross-dressin'

types to have invented some new-fangled kinda' virus even worse then AIDS. Only we all know that it was God who dun that, not the US government, as popular beliefed. Some disease with mind powers that can manipulade people's to do things gainst their will, like crack open a book. Amens.

  • @oliverstonefan

    Only if you're Ted Bundy.

btw one of my favorite movies.

  • @oliverstonefan It wasn't so much who she slept with because the killer would have gotten her wherever she was.

  • Nymphomaniac women. There was one I think had this problem, in a fitness academy I went. I will never be sure, buyt the way she looked me and how impacoius and brief excited she was often make me guess. Also the sufered look of her husband.

  • i wanna see this one and Sisters are they good? Sisters looks cool, and this one looks strange. (well most of de Palma's work is...)

  • i luv this movie..it's a brilliant thriller from the kinky sex scene in the taxi to the gory slaughter in the elevator to the final scene where Nancy Allen is teasing us with a tantalising striptease and sexy dialogue...this is one hell of a thrill ride!

  • I predict this classic horror film will be next to be made into a crap remake by Hollywood. Just you wait & see.

  • De Palma is an underrated genius ,iam a huge huge fan of his work and this is one of his best along with Blow Out and many others

  • good movie
