great that you shared some of your experiences! i am going to study at osaka university this fall and i'm really excited already. how was studying there? i want to take mostly japanese classes, i hope i'm good enough... how's the guidance at the uni? could you arrange classes and stuff without problems?
...i also plan on making a vlog there, hope it's gonna be as interesting as yours!^^

Cool. I have also been fascinated by Japan for a long time. I think it's a little late for me to be an exchange student now (as I'm 32!) but I am planning on visiting Japan late 2009 on my way round the world to travel and train in kenjutsu.

Osaka (people) is not the typical Japanese city & people. It is the kind of another world that may shock you. People are friendly but different from other parts of Japan. Is good to visit but not for living. I would not live there.

yea, people always talk bad about Osaka. Saying it's dirty etc. But even compared to NYC It's really nice! I love it!

Good luck in Osaka! It was waaaay hot there a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully the weather is starting to cool down here in Japan.
There's a big typhoon that's supposed to hit here in Tokyo this week, but I'm not sure if it's going to hit Osaka.
