@NastyMaster in 4.2.1 they patched what they called holes in the system which where easy to jailbreak because you could get through but apple patched all holes in the iOS 4.2.1 then put three different patches in which made it nearly impossible to get through,it like going from trying to get through the border with 8 gaurds and trying to get through the border with 8,000 gaurds....they had to find the right spot and place and wheather to go over or under the 4.2.1 software :)

okay redsnow beta 6 worked fine for me ... mines untethered now .. just have some common sense and follow the directions .. the steps for RS beta 5 (this video) is the same as RS beta 6 .. and if you download redsnow beta 7 you can use it on windows now and not just mac.

For everyone asking,when you are on a specific version and run Cydia it will save the shsh blobs to cydias server if you have chosen for it to "make my life easier".

Still, Cydia claims I have 4.2 and 4.2b3 blobs saved even though I've never run either version

doesnt matter, with 0.9.7 any version even off a fresh restore, my iphone 4 gets stuck on the pwanage logo with the words installing bundles and the blue bar isnt moving, also the screen shows waiting to send jailbreak monte files, and doesnt do anything, eventually the phone restarts but its still tethered. do you know why? thanks.
