Macbook vs. Macbook Pro Comparison

is it cheaper to get a macbook and modify it (like increasing the storage memory and speed) or should i spend more money and get a macbook pro. please help me decide!!!!! anyone?!!!!!

@whsdg00 What are you planning on doing with this machine? If you need processing power for video editing, graphics? Then you should go with the Macbook Pro, but if your just surfing the web, writing e-mails etc. then I would go with the Macbook and just add memory. It just depends on what you want to do with the machine. I hope this helps?

@whsdg00 I would invest into a 1TB external Firewire or USB hard drive. Western Digital makes really great ones and it's what I use.

I did not time to see the whole video because I need to leave somewhere but will the MacBook run games like mass effect 2 and other games with advanced graphics? I am also worried about the speed because I had a Dell that would take hours and hours to play load something... If not should I upgrade the MacBook or just get a MacBook Pro

@CaliCarlosKKK yes but not well it has a 9400m card from nvidia. its lower end. it will play them on a low setting if you want good graphics go pc or macboo pro is getting a refresh relly soon prob have nvidia 240m and 260gtx mobile card options. so go pro when the do a refresh in the next week or so.

@blackeyedxx the pro has NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics and you can't upgrade the macbook's graphic card.

they also have a faster processor

I wanted to get either a macbook or macbook pro for college, but im stil l not exactly sure. The main thing im looking for is for it to be a fast machine, and not become slow or obsolete in the next 4 or 5 years. I like the way the pro looks, but i dont know if its worth the extra money. Really get a MacBook, it's awesome, also super fast, it rocks. If you're worrying about it overheating or something like because of the fans not having as much power then download SMC Fan Control. You can control the fans and turn the power up so much that it will sound like a jet.

in 2 years the macbook pro will most likely be slow. i know my gaming laptop 2 years ago was amazing. now the macbook itself is a better laptop

I would like at the Macbooks, since the new update they are a great looking computer! I think the Macbook Pro would be to much, but if you think in the future you could use the power, then go with that!
