@DabAndrew Lots of bands do cover songs, it's not just Steps who are successful with it. I'm not sure how many of their own songs they perform but I enjoy them for their performance, not for seemingly original songs.

And you're probably right that they couldn't do it live - they dance as well and that would make breath control near impossible, if not actually impossible. At least their real singing in the studios is technically of good quality, regardless of people's opinions.

I love Steps: they're one of the bands which actually have good singers. I probably like them more than I did when I was younger, even though I liked them back in primary school and early senior school (and yes, I'm 20 now, but I still love my 90's music). But this dance routine is pretty naff. Old word for an old group, but they could have thought of something more interesting and less cheesy. I don't think of the music as cheesy, just old, but their dance is, lol.

It sound less cheesy but I love every song of them. Big reason why I love steps like yr said the voice is so beautifull and the beat/band is awesome.

Yes, they were lip-synching, but bearnig in mind tehy had to sing and dance, it can be difficult to do both and manage your breathing at the same time.

It wasn't an uncommon practice, and still isn't lol. I still love them though.

Have you seen one of Muse's videos in which they were so shocked at being asked to lip synch on a show that they decided to swap parts to perform? Nobody noticed and they stayed like that for the interview afterwards :D
