  • NASTY round! They're what i keep in my gun for home defense.

  • this is what i carry just because of this video. beautiful, sharp, expansion that will destroy whatever or whoever it enters. great video and thanks for helping me find the right round with your tests of the different ammo

  • Nasty. Makes me want to coat them black.

  • A BG sure will feel some pain with this coming out of my G21. That is one nasty looking round!

  • @ludwigdrummer1, cheaperthandirtcom has if for about $26 a box. The other place is charging $32. Buy from cheaper then dirt unless your buying in bulk. And even then TBH walmart has better prices (on Winny White box of course) then mopst spots have on bulk reloads. In .40cal for 1000 rounds of reloads on the net go for about $.25 a round where as wally world has new ammo for about $.27 a round.

    Wally World for the win...

  • Need this in.40cal...

  • hey andreleger2001, im kinda on the fence with this ammo, and wanted your opinion. i have a box of the standerd pressure 230 gr, and apon close insepection of the hollow piont cavity, i noticed that on some of the rounds the copper petels the fold into the cavity are shorter, and other rounds they fold all the way to the bottom of the hollow point cavity. inconsistant manurfacturing ? your opionion would be great. im using the 230 gr HST right now but would love to switch to these.

  • definitely going in my springfield

  • this is one nasty ass round, but also very beautiful at the same time. my favorite 45 jhp

  • Holy shit...black tallons have nothing on this ammo..RANGER T's are a BEAST....

  • SHOOTING INTO WATER PROVES NOTHING ABOUT HOW THE AMMO WORKS

  • the standard pressure ranger t in 230 .45 looks like the petals expand further out as compared to the +p, which looks like the petals fold under the base of the bullet...i'm considering both for home defense but hung up as to which would be the better choice; i guess i'm only considering the +p cuz of the 500 ft. lbs. of energy. these would be in a full size glock 21; your thoughts would be appreciated. and thanks for the vids....

  • @ludwigdrummer1 Either one would do the trick. There will be a slight tradeoff in increased muzzle blast and recoil with the +P for the extra velocity.

  • @ludwigdrummer1 i have 1 box of these left need more any ideas where to buy them????????

  • @HJT420 Go to SGAmmo.com; they always have plenty of Winchers Ranger T-Series in both standard and +P versions. Good luck!!!

  • @HJT420 Thanks man will be buying 2000rds tax time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm sold

  • why dont you guys ever talk in your vids? quite annoying.

  • @WESTover7740 I figure most people are smart enough to make their own determinations without my opinions interjected.

  • @andreleger2001 hi andreleger :D should i get "Winchester Ranger-T 45 acp? or the Federal HST 45?

which gun is good man? tnx

  • @tig2123 I would say both of them are top notch - likely the best two designs on the market. Pick whichever you can find at a good price. As far as recommending a gun, I would need more info like what you plan on doing with it. Concealed carry? Home defense?

  • @andreleger2001 Im so i dont remember saying which gun is good i mean maybe i was just very exited of my new Glock 21 and im both carrying concealred and home defense. so if u got 1 bullet which bullet would you get Ranger-T or Federal HST? :-)

  • @tig2123 If I had to choose between the two I would give a slight nod to the Ranger-T.

  • @andreleger2001 Thats what im talkin about Now im gona choose Ranger-T Thanks mate :-).

  • whats a good price for these? my local shop has them for 28$ for 50 rnds???? is that decent???

  • @shadeshiest22 Better deals can be had for them if you dig around but not by much. If you can get them locally for that price you will likely be better off if you only need 1 box rather than buying online and paying shipping.

  • dude, that is knarly shit!!!

  • Bird karate @ 0:30?

  • Subsonic pinwheel of justice.

  • The flower of doom.

  • At 1:27, Andre says "Oww!" when getting pricked by one of the 'petals' of this round. 5 bucks says that the scumbag criminal will scream out 1000 times more than just a lil "oww"......

  • Man this one and the +P are the nastiest of them all! This one seems to have a larger expansion, but i am sure the +P hits harder.

  • Man! That Winchester Ranger .45 acp looks wickedly painful and affective! I'm impressed.

  • From all of the tests you have done here on handgun ammo I believe these are the biggest and nastiest rounds shown. Not only that but the recoil looks to be pretty stout as well.

  • Nastiest bullet ever!

  • i would like you to do a test comparison of the .40 vs .45 caliber bullets thats what a lot of us gun freaks want to know............. awesome experiments.

  • @ALreveSCREWmusic Sure. I will put it on the future tests list.

  • did you guys do a review with the bonded version? i saw a review online, but they only tested it with one round.

  • @baker70romeo We have tested the PDX-1 in numerous calibers. I am not sure there is an official bonded version of the Ranger-T series. The PDX-1 appears to be a bonded version of the Ranger-T even though its not called that.

  • I got rid of my .45 for a .40 but looking at this I regret that is a damn big bullet, how much bigger is to the .40 alot or just little and from all your test with ammo which one do you recomend ehicj ammo, thanks brother for doing these test now instead of wasting money and trial and error I just go on here and watch your vids but out of al them I think the winchester are the best let me know thanks

  • @miltnxc123 The .45 ACP Ranger-T is quite impressive fully expanded, but the .40's were not bad at all. I would not go to the expense of swapping if you are already settled in with .40 S&W.

  • ammunition to go has it in stock just google it.

  • Do these come in long colt

  • @HOPPINBOB88 I am almost positive that they do not. Unfortunately, the bullets are not available as components either.

  • Damn It's such a good round you almost cut yourself with it. Great Video

  • JESUS CHRIST!

  • i used to think the winchester pdx 1 and the winchester rangers were the same..but after watching you test them both its safe to say they are VERY different.

  • @GunNut12680 Yes, Winchester is very confusing putting more than one very different bullet style under the same moniker of Ranger. There is Ranger-T, Bonded, Conventional JHP, and older SXT all with similar boxes. At least the PDX-1 has been marketed differently. PDX-1 is essentially bonded Ranger-T although they are using the PDX-1 name also on their shotgun ammo now just to add to the confusion. I suppose once a company gets a good name they stick with it to keep the sales up.

  • @GunNut12680 also i see how very different they really are..the pdx 1 doesnt "petal" nearly as good as the rangers

  • Wonder how these would do in a test going through glass? Winshields are supposed to tear up a bullet.

  • Wow I'm sold.

  • @GMBurnz WIN has changed it's sale of this ammo to LEO only since last Sept. & I have trouble finding it on line anyware? This T- series ammo is a newer version of the ol'e BLACK TALLON ammo that Win had discontinued in the past, So why has Win decided to not sell this Ammo to it's civilian customer's who also have a right to protect themselve's with their Ammo if one chooses so. ?

  • will i have problems with these if i use them in an unmodified 1911? i wanna know before i buy.

  • @Ronald3570 With 1911's the only way to know for sure is to get a box and shoot some. I have not had any feeding problems with these and I have shot them though a number of different guns. This is top tier ammo in my book.

  • Well I know what I'm going to test out first in my glock 30 once I buy it.

  • @andreleger2001 ouch a little sharp that round is sick brother !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • They are very accurate out of my springfiled xd tactical 45. N my carry round of choice. If they banned the black talon years ago and kept these which is the same bullet, then i guess there as nasty as they say!

  • Nasty little buggers. These are my self defense round of choice.

  • Damn... that looks like something that would only come out in a science fiction movie. 1:29

    Thanks for showing.

  • Those rounds are absolute monsters. I just wish they were a bit easier to get a hold of.

  • I bought some of these after seeing this video. Thank you for your work. I have a follow up on their accuracy below.

  • THIS IS NO JOKE... I put 5 rounds of Ranger T through my new Kimber TLE / RL the target was 75 yards or 225 feetdown range. It was a typical white piece of typing paper with a 2 1/2" bullseye. 2 rounds went in the bullseye 1 round was at 10 O'clock 3" from dead center. 1 round was at 1 O'clock and 3 3/4" from dead center and the 5th round was 8 o'clock and 5" from dead center. I know I moved a little bit on the last one. I haven't shot a pistol since 1987... These rounds are AWESOME for accuracy

  • Now THAT would mess up your day!

  • Why was you saying "ouch!", was it hot or stabing you?

  • @NC77583 My friend did the results section for these tests. I think he was kinda impressed with them having seen them expanded for the first time. (The ow's are a bit of his humor...)

  • haha, thanks.

  • Man this is My FAVORITE AMMO!

  • Evil, Wicked, Mean and NASTY.

  • Cor Bon DPX are widow makers! ;)

  • cor bon dpx dont have shit on Ranger Ts LOL

  • Im definately going to have to search around a bit more for this round. Everything Ive found (including your data) shows this to be possibly the best SD round available currently. If only it was readily available...

  • Winchester T series and Golden Saber 185+P are the best rounds I have come

    across

  • WOW. I wonder how these retain weight and penetrate through flesh. Either way you are SCREWED with a gut full of these, you would need a priest not a doctor.

  • Or in the head. All you need is a Dixie cup and a mop to send you to the morgue.

  • your right , youd need a spoon and a plastic bag

  • i wonder how these compare to the 230gr hsts? those are my carry load

  • I did the same tests on those. I will do a comparison video with the top loads soon.

  • @andreleger2001 which ammo do you pick? since you have first hand experience with these rounds.

  • After the testing, I swapped my carry load from HST's to Ranger-T's. I still think HST is the second best, but Ranger-T's are better ammo in my opinion.

  • Hey buddy so there was a defrence in the sharpness from jugs to barrel wow good stuff now you can make a up date on the original black talon's and the ranger ts .

  • My friend did the results section for these new AT1 tests. I think he was kinda impressed with them having seen them expanded for the first time. (The ow's are a bit of his humor...) I will do a comparison video for you soon. Im still putting all of the other stuff together. It will probably take me the rest of the week to edit and post all of the content we made this weekend.

  • LOL! sounds good my freind.

  • Where can you find that ammo?

  • I got this ammo from OMB police supply. (ombexpress) I also got some from tactical defense solutions (tds-us). I have not seen these locally anywhere. They are the redesigned black talons. Mean little bullets...

  • just another place you all can check out. ammospheer . com ..

  • Damn, that is a nasty load. I will keep the 230 xtp +p...But I WILL get a couple of boxes of these to put up.

  • I bought a box of those a few months ago. I had no idea they were loaded so hot. It also doesn't look like they were meant to be pulled out of anyone, if you know what I'm sayin'.

  • damn the recoil on these look mean
