  • Couple quick questions (1) How often/necessary is it to break down the slide like you did here and clean the parts? Will the gun "indicate" when it's time and what problem will it show to indicate that need. (2) Once the firing pin is out, is it ok to soak,dip, brush liberally the slide in a solvent to clean good that rear area (where it's so hard to clean under those two buttons underneath and it usually always stays gunky. (3) when should you go all the way & break down extractor and clean.?

  • I'm glad I saw this. I wanted to replace the firing pin spring on my 20 year old 4506 as well as the main spring. I'll have to watch again, however! Good job.
