  • whats that green mat called?

  • @MrEvolutionist - Hi there and thanks for posting. The mat is quilting mat. You can buy one at any sewing shop. I got that one at Joann Fabrics. I like it because it has the measurements on it which I sometimes refer to when I am working, and it give a good idea as to the scale of what you are working on. Have a great day and happy flying!

  • @georgesjunglerc wow super fast response thank you mate and great series i am about to buy one of these bad boys. what is your take on flybarless systems compared to flybar systems?

    -Jackson

  • @MrEvolutionist - Hi agian Jackson. The FBL systems are great, especially for 3D! One thing to consider though is crashes will be somewhat more expensive with a FBL than a FB heli. My son Richard just changed over to FBL and one tip when he was tuning it in hosed all three of his servos. We are not sure if the additional linkage on a FB allows a bit more slip and therefore don't take the servos out, but something to think about. Good luck and happy flying friend!

  • @georgesjunglerc hey, im more into show flying a small amount of 3D flying so should I just get the FB systems. The FBL units looks much better in my opinion though :P looks real nice in a Apache heli fuselage.

    thanks

  • @MrEvolutionist - Hi Jackson. I totally agree, the FBL just looks sweet. I personally don't have one, but as you can see in my videos, everyone else does. But they are all accomplished 3D pilots, and I... Well... I am not! hehehe. Let me know what you decide and be sure to post a video! Have a great day and as always, happy flying friend!

  • @georgesjunglerc i have to be THE only yotuber that responds to all his coments great vid series and all round nice guy :D i sure will upload a vid when i get it. i live in Australia so the upload times are sucky

    thanks

    jackson

  • @MrEvolutionist - Hey Jackson, I agree, you are an all around nice guy! ;) I also feel compelled to respond to all my comments. I feel if someone takes the time to make a comment, good or bad, it deserves a response! Great minds think alike. ;)

  • @georgesjunglerc im osrry haha i ment to say YOU have to be the only one that responds to his coments ^.^ typo :D. what radio are you using ? spektrum? if so what is your take on the TX?

    thanks

    Jack

  • @MrEvolutionist sorry*..... hahaha

  • @MrEvolutionist - Hahah! I still think you are one of the good guys! I use a DX6i and I love it. But... My old eyes don't see as good as they did back in the day and I am really wanting a DX8 as it is backlit. ;) Maybe Santa will bring me one! ;) Have a great day and happy flying friend.

  • @georgesjunglerc hahah yea you can buy EL panels to make them backlit but it can be risky to install this is a vid that shows it in a little bit of detail to install RcHelpDotCom <------ that guy as a view nice videos and one of them is how to install a backlight on the dx6i.

I was also looking at the dx8 looks sweet but its got a rather large price hahaha.

    have a good day, thanks

    Jackson

  • @MrEvolutionist a few**... haha

  • @MrEvolutionist - Now I have to decide if I want a DX8 or a new Dean MV Guitar for Christmas. Decisions decisions. If I don't talk to you before then, have a wonderful holiday friend!

  • @georgesjunglerc hhaaha hard choice i hope u like what you choose to get :D

    have a good christmas

    jackson

  • Awesome video, I got the same kit, its coming in the mail I can hardly wait!

  • @YupHio - Hi there and thanks for posting and the kind remarks. I am sure you will love this heli. I have been flying a few packs every day for the past several weeks now that the weather here in N E Ohio is cooperating and I like it more every pack. Enjoy your new bird and best of luck with the assembly!

  • I just bought this bad boy and will begin building this weekend. It's my first real build and only my second CP heli after having bought the mCPx! Wish me luck!

  • @apodacainc - Congratulations and thanks for posting. I am sure you will love this heli! Have a great day and happy flying friend!

  • this is the better 450 over the pro i got this one but it sell i got so many knock off pro

i will rebuild my sport with this high color frame from heli direct

  • @es1co2bar3paul - Hey Paul, thanks. Check tennesseedrifterheli for the 450 Sport kit. They had the best prices I could find and gave me great service! Good luck friend!

  • @georgesjunglerc I am going to buy one for about 424 Us dollars. I also found one for 399 Us dollars. However it is a promotional sale or something like that and I'm not sure that it'll last till summer when I'll buy mine, I don't know about you, is 424 dollars a reasonable price of a trex 450 sport super combo?

  • @blackhawk438 - Hi there and thanks for posting. I got mine for $410 US so that is a good price! Good luck and best wishes on getting your new 450! Have a great day and happy flying friend!

  • Looks awesome! I am sure it will fly great because it looks like you put these things together flawlessly!

  • @E744763Productions - Hi there and thanks for the kind remarks. The most important thing is I am having total fun! Now comes the touchy part, the set up and tune in. I will make a video of that and hopefully I won't struggle too much! ;) Have a great day and as always, happy flying friend!

  • You might have already mentioned, but it's important to repeat for newbies. Carbon graphite frames have fairly sharp edges and can easily cut wire harnesses after a hundred flights or so. Edges should be sanded or coat edges with CA glue(will leave round bead). In addition, harnesses should be covered with somekind of wrap(spiral, cable cover, sleeving). Don't forget the tie wrap, also. I've seen pro's crash from sloppy wire tie downs. STay safe keep simmin.

  • @trexinvert - Hi there and thanks for posting. Yes, that was mentioned in the very first video. I suggested sanding the edges of the entire CF frame. Thanks for pointing it out for people that may not have seen build video 1. Have a great day and happy flying friend.

  • Your vids are pretty cool. I'm getting Trex 450 pro or sport soon. I'm kinda new but I want one stable heli to grow with. I have sim time as well. I checked that site. They do have cheaper birds plus the Align tools...

  • @Drumbone71 - Hi there and thanks for posting and the kind remarks. I am sure you will love your 450 when you get it. I have not flown mine yet, but have been to the field many times with mentors that fly 450s and 550s. They are flat out awesome. Good luck with your decision on which to get and happy flying friend!

  • Nice series George.

  • @lazor222 - Thanks dude. Could not have done it with out your help! Now on to the set-up and tune-in. I am having a blast! ;)

  • man i really can't say enough about how great this series is, great job. i got my micro stik in and when i get a chance will do a short video on it. and by the way thanks for doing what you for the hobby

  • @zombienumber13 - Hi there and thanks for posting and the kind remarks. It really means a lot! If you can't tell, I am just having a blast doing this, and building and making the videos are just as much fun as flying. The amazing thing is the great people I meet on line! Everyone is awesome and more than willing to lend a hand or give advice. I could not ask for a better bunch of friends! Good luck with the Micro Stick and I will be looking for the vid! Happy flying friend!

  • @MrDazhim72 - Hi and thanks for posting and the kind remarks. Danny is right, a 500 is the way to go, but they scare me! HEHEHE... I want to start with something just a little smaller. Who knows... A 500 may be in my future around tax return time! Have a great day and happy flying friend!

  • @thefirstofmykind - Thanks bud, I am having the time of my life! I have to admit, I could not have done it without all the help from this great community of people that are more than willing to lend a hand! I can't wait to get on to the fine tuning and get this bird in the air! Thanks for posting and happy flying friend!

  • go dumb thunbz lol.... i have heard that ca is also bad for plastic, i think when you unscrew the screw, the ca that is caked on to the screw can possibly tare up the threads in the plastic a little bit.

    looks great George

at half stick are all the arms on the head lining up with each other. if not you will not get the same amount of pitch at full and low stick.

  • @dannylightning - Hey Danny,

Thanks! I am having a blast, and obviously am moving forward with the build. Now that I have everything in and working, I may be knocking on your door for help with the final set up. ;) Have a great day and happy flying dude!

  • @georgesjunglerc happy flying, i think it is more like happy freezing to death right now lol, what happed this this 40-50 degree weather we were supposed to have this week. it sucks lol..

hit me up any Saturday or Sunday and i can help you with any thing you need.

  • @dannylightning - Sweet Danny! You may be hearing from me soon! ;) Thanks bud!

  • NICE !!! you must be thrilled ,,this is going to feel so nice george after the sr

would be lovely to see you fly this piece of art : )

  • @bassax7045 - Hey Robert,

Thanks for posting and for the kind remarks. I have had a total blast building this heli, and talking to all the great community members who helped me through it. I can't wait to get it fine tuned and go for my first flight! I will be sure to post some videos and add comments! ;) Good luck with your "Thefirstofmykind Special" heli and enjoy the maiden! -= G =-

  • Looking good George. Can't wait to see the tuning and maiden videos. Thanks for the Shout out!

  • @srat110 - Hey dude,

Thanks for posting and the kid remarks and for the great suggestion. Set-up and Fine tuning videos to follow soon, and then... The Maiden Flight. I am so amped! Have a great day and as always, happy flying friend!

  • she is beauty ..

lock-tide oke ca hmmm i dont know

    grtzzz

  • @poerik CA works very well to "lock tite" your screws into plastic, but you want to use it sparingly. Just enough to wet the tip of the screw, but not a "glob" or you will push glue out and make a bit of a mess. I do the battery tray, boom support screws, servo screws.......basically any screw that could cause a problem in flight if it came loose. May not be a necessity, but is is an option.

  • @srat110 - Great suggestion dude! I agree, just a dab will do ya! I guess I am paranoid that something will come loose in flight and will take every precaution to see to it that that does not happen! Thanks for posting and as always, happy flying friend!

  • @poerik - Thanks for posting friend and for the kind remarks. I figure I will air on the side of caution and take every precaution I can. I can't wait to get on to the fine tuning and flying this baby! Have a great day and happy flying friend!
