Its not the marker that makes the player, I can give some guy that just came out to the feild with his friends to play some rec ball for the first time a Dye NT, and go out there with a Tippmann and he'd be out before he new what hit him.

i nail an inch wide target and 50 feet wth an 8 inch barrel (it came with the gun) so yeah 75 yards is a normal limit

Hitting a man sized target from 600 yards is the marine corps' proficiency requirement for the M16. The M16 can only throw a bullet about 800 yards tops. Last time I checked, paintballs going 300 fps under-perform 5.56 ball going 2000 fps by a lot. To top it off, paintballs actually weigh more than said bullets. There's no way that you're getting a paintball farther than 150 yards, and at that range you'd be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn. Don't criticize that which you do not understand.
