I tried the Dr. Dre Beats headphones and while they sounded great and absolutely amazing, they weren't comfortable for me. They did hurt my ears when wearing them and my head felt really squished. I don't know if it was because I didn't get enough time with them, but they didn't entirely sell me. I think one of the next most important things after performance/quality is comfort. If it doesn't feel comfortable, why buy 'em??
Best headphones... i modded em yesterday by removing the strip and the base almost makes you pass out... set em on the floor on a base song and it'll walk itself... PS. This test is fucking retarded and a waste of time regardless the cans are amazing
QUESTION: I want a good pair of headphones (Mainly for GAMING) which is better... the HD600's or the HD595's? OR any other headphones that you may think are better for use mainly for gaming, I want great positional audio, clarity, and bass. Open ear preferred. Thanks :-)
PS: I will be using the ASUS Xonar ST soundcard, has prebuilt amp.
@SuperPs3reviewer No, this will only confuse people. They may think that the audio sounds like this when they buy a pair. And that's not true. You need to listen through the headphones speakers DIRECTLY to know. As for now we have no idea if the sound that is produced is because of good/bad headphones or good/bad recording. And even if we could tell, you just can't measure audio like that.
@vargtegel No it isn't. At least not if you use the exact same setup to compare to OTHER headphones. The recording that results is obviously always going to be inferior to the original music. The question is: how much quality is lost? If you think about it, if the same music was then played through a tinny pair of crap earbuds and recorded with the same mic setup, the difference would be very apparent. This test isn't to demonstrate how the headphones would sound on your ears.
@Izzard Like I said, it's the quality of the recording you are hearing, not the quality of the headphones. And yes, if you compare these ones with earplugs with the same mic, you might hear a difference. But I don't see why that would matter. Wouldn't you like to hear how they really sound when you put them on, instead of just "ah, they are at least better than these earplugs". I know i would.
Wow really? Have you actually ever put on a pair of Sennheisers? You can't possibly think Sennheisers are cheap.
Because my Hd555 are some of the greatest things I've ever bough, they sounded amazing out of the box, then broken in they were the greatest thing I've ever heard.
@Deathz0r94 you have no sense in here. Hd-280 is expensive as crazy. are you kidding me ? if I can buy expensive headset like that, I have no even a worry in here.

I am lookin for ultimate sound isolation headset, if someone knows and have many headsets, plz save a human in here.
try linkin park- lying from you with them!!! it rocks like hell!!
..i think about getting the hd555 OR the steel series siberia full-size both go up to 28.000hz i think, but which one do you think is better? the hd555 is about 100euro and the siberia is around 60-70 euro
the 595 has the same drivers than the 555. The only difference is visuals and a piece of foam glued inside the cups. Remove thoses and you've got a 555 for the price of a 595.
they know something about quality, they know absolutely nothing about design or portability, or satisfying people who use mp3 players and want to take their headphones out of their house >.>
These were not made for portabilit b ut rather to listen in one spot. Their goal is quality audio. Ig you wanna go outside, I suggest look at some other ones.
I have a very hard decision to make very soon...
Should i get these or the Sony MDR-NC60???
Please reply soon thanks. :)

lol, are you serious? Recording headphone-sound with a mic to show the quality? This is the dumbest test I ever seen xD
vargtegel 1 year ago 19
@vargtegel It's better than no test.. Besides, it gives us a decent assumption on what these headphones sound like.

CrushedQube, get the HD555 instead. They sound almost the same. Trust me I have owned both. Plus the HD555 is $100 less than the HD595.

I just ordered the HD 555 ;-) thx for the tip :)

And you can mod the HD555 to sound like a HD595. Just remove foam pads inside the phones.

will HD595 bass better than this?

Just a lil bit!!!

Very similar, I'd get the HD555 and save money, it's not that big of a deal to shell out the huge ammount more for the HD595.
