You're so right- it was very inspiring. Riot Grrrl still inspires people today though... I wasn't there to experience it first-hand, but the whole idea of it seemed to be 'OK, so what if you're not that good on your instrument- just PLAY AND START A BAND!!' And if lots of bands start because of that idea, that's gotta be a good thing!
