I have been to Cambodia in 1992. It brings memories seeing the central market where i bought (actually ordered my wedding ring from a jeweller Khmer friend). Phnom Pehn was filled with motorcycle which used to be their "taxi" and mode of transpo in going places in that city. You should go to Sihanoukville in Kampong Som, a beautiful place. Awkun Charan (sorry for my speliing) but that means thank you in Kmer language.

Im italian american and married to a beautiful Khmer woman and speak it fluently. I was in Su Khmer in Febuary with my mother in law and spent about 35 days in phnom penh, siem riep and battambang. I have to say cambodians are some of the nicest people i have ever met in my life, if you sit down at a table with other Khmers they will buy you beer and shots all night just like you were long standing friends...cant wait to go back.

Was there in August, traffic is riduculous I was scared to drive a moto. and that was one of the reasons I wanted to go there. So I drove a car instead. but not as fun as beign on a moto. I was at Psa tmey and the elertic wires on top caught on fire and blew a big smoke.

i was born in vietnam. i've had the privillege of visiting cambodia. it is a lovely country with very warm people. i see a lot of parallels between vietnamese and cambodian cultures. it saddens me that there should be any hostility between the two nationalities. after all, we used to be sister states along with laos in french indochina. today, we are still neighbors. if we work together, we'll be stronger.

I have been to Cambodia in 1992. It brings memories seeing the central market where i bought (actually ordered my wedding ring from a jeweller Khmer friend). Phnom Pehn was filled with motorcycle which used to be their "taxi" and mode of transpo in going places in that city. You should go to Sihanoukville in Kampong Som, a beautiful place. Awkun Charan (sorry for my speliing) but that means thank you in Kmer language.

Ok, the Japanese work hard just as they do in many countries. Set aside from that, it is also based on Japan's history, current and past governments, location, culture, and assistance with the complete rebuilding of the infrastructure after WW2. It's pointless to compare Japan to Cambodia because Cambodias history, government, location, and past wars are completely different from Japans. Of course if other nations such as Cambodia were given this opportunity, they would be more advanced.

Just to let you know, Cambodia was a developed country before 1975, Viet realized that Cambodia will be central power of econimic in SouthEast asia. Cambodia got every thing natural resources, tourist attractions, rich in cuture and art. Envy!! Viet created war to cover stolen land (khmer krom land) as well to stir up the peace so Cambodia don't have a good ground to pay back. Viet robbed so much from Cambodia during the invasion, perhaps from Lao as well. Don't be smart, will have your day.

Im italian american and married to a beautiful Khmer woman and speak it fluently. I was in Su Khmer in Febuary with my mother in law and spent about 35 days in phnom penh, siem riep and battambang. I have to say cambodians are some of the nicest people i have ever met in my life, if you sit down at a table with other Khmers they will buy you beer and shots all night just like you were long standing friends...cant wait to go back.

Was there in August, traffic is riduculous I was scared to drive a moto. and that was one of the reasons I wanted to go there. So I drove a car instead. but not as fun as beign on a moto. I was at Psa tmey and the elertic wires on top caught on fire and blew a big smoke.

Their GDP was an outstanding 13.4% in 2006 - 5th highest in the world, and surely first in SE Asia but in 2007 it is 7.2% - 46th in the world, and probably behind Vietnam

i was born in vietnam. i've had the privillege of visiting cambodia. it is a lovely country with very warm people. i see a lot of parallels between vietnamese and cambodian cultures. it saddens me that there should be any hostility between the two nationalities. after all, we used to be sister states along with laos in french indochina. today, we are still neighbors. if we work together, we'll be stronger.
