You know I think a lot of Republicans like Scarborough were thinking about voting for Obama, but they felt compelled to vote for McCain and hoped he would pick a somewhat young and experienced vp as a kind of insurance policy against McCain's age. I think picking Palin though really kinda of finished off any notion they had for going with McCain, and now it's Obama or nothing for them. There is a divide between real reporters and gullible ones going on right now that is unprecedented. Joe has no fixed idea except the fear of the loss of conservatism, and that guides him to excuse hypocrisy and assert whatever convinces him will promote "traditional America." He is resistant to both change and progressive thought, and is rather small-minded.
