they need to stop calling these super cars hybrid. they're just super cars with KERS and electronic boosters. if you really care about the environment and what not buy a priuse or hell use public transportation. don't but one of these cars and claim you love the planet, if i'm buying on the these hybrids it's just purely because i can smoke other cars without the "hybrid" system

although these super cars aren't that efficient, a car doesn't have to be "green" to be called a hybrid. hybrid literally means a combination of two or more things. a mule is a hybird of a donkey and a horse. in the case of cars, hybrid combines electricity and combustion power. hence the label "hybrid cars."

Ya, don't you feel that hybrid is linked to green way too much these days!? most ppl are not going to think of the 2=1 definition of hybrid. they're likely to say green. your hybrid can be fuelled with little children's dreams and TNT and ppl will likely to think you're a good person when you say i drive an hybrid~!

i think companies depend on that to sell their vehicles. the first GM hybrids were crap! but they sold a lot because people wanted to be "green" AND buy american.

@ XPoChangLinX thats' very true. why would there have to be Hybrids out of a Exotic? their suppose to perform what would companies or people want with an expensive ride? they get 15 MPG probably. I settle for a Prius or a Ford Fusion Hybrid cuz making exotics into hybrids is just stupid.

Well for one thing the hybrids are cheaper in the luxury division of autos. For example, the Mercedes S400H is cheaper than the S550 by $5000. Plus the S400H is selling better than the S550. So even the rich want to help the environment.

That Porsche design kinda reminds me of the 904 when looking at its front design. I just don't know why. I also hope Porsche recovers itself from the humillation they received from Audi and Nissan (Audi R8 better than 911? and Nissan R-35 accelerates from 0-60 0.1 seconds less than the GT2)

I have to say that the hybrid concept is not necessarily a bad idea. Electric motors would not be subject to a finite gear ratio and can rev instantly.

The bad part about a hybrid is weight from batteries and the fact that you actually have multiple separate engines.

@zephyrod The ZR1 has 638hp, not 705. The Porsche Hybrid has 500hp gas and 200hp electric, 700hp total.

ZR1 only 4 seconds faster a disappointment? 4 seconds in the race world is a huge lead, don't make me laugh.
