Engines vibrate at certain frequencies. Higher RPMs mean higher vibration frequency. That vibration was transferred to the camera and it affected the recording.

I have this same rolling shutter problem when I skydive, it looks as if the sky is wavering.  Oh well, I just purchased a Rage Cams 6mm lense, and although it needs focused to what your shooting, I havernt seen the rolling shutter problem. Put an Oculus flat underwater lense on the housing as well. There are trade offs, I like the infinite focus of the 1.7mm GoPro lense, but hate the fisheye. @BMXmeansLIFE Yes it is. They probably made a makeshift mount for it, so it shook a lot. Also, if you render it in a non HD file (mpeg, mp4, etc.) than the resolution will drastically go dow. My advice? Use the GoPro mounts, and render the film in HD, or in a Quick Time movie, and publish it in HD on youtube.

Nature of the hobby I suppose. Most folks have had their crashes and having another is just part of the game. It might not even have been that bad. I had my "stunt tester" blade go nose in last week. Saw it coming, cut throttle and prepared for the worst. Only thing dead was some stripped servos and bent main/feathering shafts :D

As for the thumbs up....well...guess you gotta stay positive. It would be impossible to be in this hobby otherwise :)

Being as I now work in an industry that uses helicopters every week, I didn't have time for models. However, I got talked into electric heli's two months back and have now moved onto those machines. The downside = limited flight time. The upside = cheap and smoke free. However.....I 'am' thinking of going back to gas engined but with gas turbine.

Gas is a pain due to the mess, electric is getting way better with flight times now with the lithium technology, it should only get better with time!
