Sorry, my last comment sounded a bit rude. I don`t mean it to. It is just kind of "mind boggling" thinking that everything is predetermined, it makes you second guess everything you are going to do, if you think about it.
I "found" Ramana Maharshi, on the web a few weeks ago, and felt such peace, but since then have sunk into a kind of apathetic stupor.Maybe it is the ego resisting? What I am struggling with is , if everything is predetermined, where is the motivation to actually do anything?
Well I am in a muddle. If everything is predetermined, I may as well just sit here and do nothing, is that predetermined? What would be the motivation to do anything? I am truly confused!!
but if you cant chose to forgive or stop believing a thing, your interpretation would never change, without choice it would forever remain unchanged and predetermined.
Hello, I just watched a video and the man (who is enlightened ) apparently was dealing with the subject of suicide(to be or not to be) and like he was ok with it, well I'm depressive and I kinda dont agree. There's a battle in my head and such talks can actually harm me, I have a past of being influenced with negativity. The "why" is killing me...
@anyonefindAMERICA1 Can't remember the exact source, but with the use of statistics, 26.277% of the time they are pulled from a hat. 26% just stuck in my head at the time of reading an article.
Why can i not understand "To thy own self be true" if i don't know my true self in the first place, i can never be true to myself. Am i the only person who struggles with this, and how can i get an understanding of myself
@ballyquillanboy Be honest with yourself and hold true to your own personal principles and values, that's what being true to yourself is about. As far as your struggle with self goes, an eastern philosopher might say, you cannot not be true to yourself because after all, everything is a manifestation of who you are and nothing is not part of your expression. Right now, your idea of self is fictional, you cannot separate yourself from anything, you are integrated within this system entirely.
@ballyquillanboy i been there... i noticed when i compare myself to my "old" self , i feel like im nothing alike. i dont know if that helps any, but you ain't the only one who doesn't understand yourself. there are people like me who have been through mind splattering events then they have to pull their sanity back togather and just try to be normal and get along in society. i spent years in mental institutions by the way.

@wfwhmj you will experience stupor until you totally let go.
concepts are not the key here.
presence is. practiced presence.
Nothing will change.
But it doesn't matter, because awareness is the key.
Sounds pointless?
Let go, and it'll be calming to your mind.
