Just wanna update everyone. I still have this (Android 2.2.1) on my Epic (unrooted) and its running without a hitch.

I can finally play games that wouldn't work on 2.1 and everything is working perfect. No bugs.

I don't know if I'll be able to update to the OFFICIAL 2.2.1 (whenever that comes out) but it doesn't matter cuz I already have a bug-free 2.2.1 =)

I really feel bad for the people who are still waiting =(

The only point of the instructions that is not clear on anyone's video is "exactly where" you transfer the newly named "update.zip" folder. I've looked at every one and no matter where I put it, it does not work. And one more point. On my stock Samsung Epic, using the "Home" button does nothing, only pressing the "camera button" on the side selects what ever highlight there is for updating to 2.2. Why my Epic 4G is different, I do not know.

@theduce102 yea I just gave up...lol, now am running Midnight EXT4 rom, since the leak DK28 first came out it was pretty bad but the dev have tweaked the issue and now DK28 runs pretty good now days. So unless the official 2.2 does something really awesome I should be good to go with Midnight. The only thing is the MobileAP does not work with DK28 yet but the guys at XDA are working on it.

My Epic went from 941 to 1049 on the Quadrant test. Not as big of a jump as I wanted.

The main problem I have been having is GPS. This 2.2 update totally removed all GPS functionality. Some people have went back to stock 2.1 then to 2.2 again to fix it. I am trying that now.

@IronReaver17 I'll get the urls to the forums for you. Basically you just use the odin program to flash a .tar and pit file. All three obtained from xda forums. They says it's risky going to an older version though. I had no problems.
